I will NEVER do business with David's Bridal ever again! Such a disappointment on the way they do business. I had got a fitting for a bridesmaid dress and was measured for the size I would need. The stylist had said the dress would arrive by end of April due to the short timeframe for the wedding. Well that didn't happen as the dress got delayed and was told it would arrive 3 weeks before the wedding. I was like that cannot happen, that does not give me enough time for alterations. The David's Bridal rep was extremely rude and said its not my problem and take it up with corporate. I mean who is says that?? I call the corporate office and was told the dress needed to be cut to size and would take longer. All the bridesmaids received their dresses but mine is nowhere to be found! After multiple calls to the store and the corporate office, it was decided that the best they could do was give me a dress 2 sizes too big and would have it sent out right away. I asked is there any compensation they could offer for this situation, only could offer 20% discount. I said is alterations going to be possible with this tight timeframe and was then told no they cannot guarantee it would be done in time. Well on the wedding day...the zipper splits apart where I need to be sewn in because the zipper is cheap and garbage like material. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM DAVID'S BRIDAL AGAIN!!! I would love to leave a review for the entire franchise, however I can't, so I'll leave it for my local DB. I am getting married August 1 2020. I chose my bridesmaid dresses in November 2019 (9 months beforehand), and all 5 girls ordered their dress during that month. Bridesmaid 1: Received in February Bridesmaids 2 & 3: On track for delivery in early May Bridesmaid 4: Not coming until September 2020 Bridesmaid 5: DB cancels her order without warning. Has to order new dress. Bridesmaid 5 re orders a dress. Not coming until end of August. Talk to DB but only through text, because no one is willing to speak on the phone. I'm told by multiple reps that her dress will now come at the end of April and she'll receive an email. End of April comes and there's no email. Have to talk to them again. Now we're supposed to get the dress early May. Never got it, along with Bridesmaids 2 & 3 whose are now delayed until July. Talked to maybe 20 people from DB and got 20 different answers on all 3 of these dresses. Absolutely no consistency among their reps. They couldn't have made this process worse if they tried. After an INCREDIBLY frustrating process with David's Bridal, we canceled the orders because I stopped trusting them. BUT DO YOU THINK DAVID'S BRIDAL CANCELS THEM WHEN THEY SAID THEY DID? Nope, I have to follow up to talk to ANOTHER rep who says the orders were never canceled. Now we are scrambling to find new dresses thanks to this god forsaken company. Seriously, do not use David's Bridal for any reason. in regards to bridesmaid dresses, although I understand it's not cost effective to have every size able to try on, my options for nearly every dress I picked to try on was either size 4 or 16. Im generally a 10 or 12. It is hard to make decisions on purchasing a dress when you can't get close to size you need it to be. You can effectively see how the dress will actually fit. read more

My fiancé had an issue with her dress, and we needed an alteration two days before the wedding and we were really in a time crunch. Even though we didn't purchase our dress at David's, the staff were very helpful and assured us that they could get the job done and turned around in 24 hours. The store manager was especially attentive, and helped us feel at ease during such a stressful time for my wife. Can't recommend David's in Hamburg, NY enough!!! read more

I came here to get my wedding dress and bridesmaids/flower girl dresses for my wedding day. I hesitated to write this as I am not one to. Firstly, my dress was ordered in the wrong size. At my first alterations appointment, I was at first told there was nothing I could do to have it made to fit. Magically, they were able to come up with a corset to make it fit. Next problem was my straps. I told the 3+ seamstresses at my 3 fittings that the straps were falling down. They said it would be fixed. I suggested sleeves. They said no, we can fix it and sew the straps so they do not fall. Right up to my last fitting, I had them sew it twice to fix the straps and ultimately, I was just told to use double sided tape to make them stay. Spoiler alert, the tape did not work so I spent almost all of my wedding fixing my straps. During my ceremony and photos. I spent 1100 on my dress and another 300 in alterations. For what I paid, it should have been fixed. The bra I asked to be sewn into my dress? Were two cups sewn into the outside of my dress. My bridesmaid had to tape the bra down so it did not peek out. The top stitch of the one cup popped halfway through my wedding. Between the straps and the bra, I barely was on the dance floor of my own wedding. Moving on to my maid of honor. We could not try her dress on in store because despite it being 2022, you do not carry sizes for plus sized girls. We were told her dress was ordered in the correct size. Should have learned from myself. She went in for her first alteration and it doesn't fit. The solution offered to her was to pay for a second dress to use for fabric and also pay for alterations. So she should pay for 2 dresses and alterations?? Absolutely not. She had a replacement dress ordered which she was told would be rushed both shipping and alterations. The rushed alterations was to be done at no cost to her. All she needed was it to be hemmed. Upon her calling to see if it was done a week before my wedding, she was told it would not be ready in time and if she wanted it rushed, she'd need to pay. Why did my maid of honor need remind you guys what she had been promised? The dress was finished the thursday before my wedding. All in all, I am so glad I will never need to deal with David's Bridal again. I spent close to 2k in dresses for myself and for my nieces but when it came to my actual wedding day, I had to spend more time adjusting my dress than enjoying myself. read more

I think David's is all about who you get for a consultant and the time you go I can't say much about alterations because I'm still looking for my dress but I can say I went on a Friday evening and was the only appointment in the store I had 6 people tag a long and we had so much room and they didn't rush me at all. My consultant listened to what I wanted and picked dresses that were exactly what I was envisioning, I believe her name was Marissa I think she said she works mostly weekends. I'm not sure if you can request her but she was so kind and patient and professional I would definitely recommend her. read more

Hello, You don't even deserve a star but to write a review I have to. I am in the hospitality industry and my maid of honor is a Store Manager for Reeds one of top jewelers in Buffalo NY. At the Hamburg location where my made of honor went to pick up her dress 3!!! times because they ordered the wrong size each time. I spoke to several managers and no one was accommodating! I live out of town and this whole process has been a complete nightmare. Every time she went in they couldn't find my name and they had to go look in the back for her name on the dress, and like I said 3 times they had reorder the dress. She made 9 trips to the store and each time the service was horrible. She needs alternations and they wouldn't even help her in that department. My wedding is 2 weeks away and now I have to stress over my Maid of Honor getting her dress ready in time. Since I work in the hospitality industry and Gina working for Reeds we will NEVER recommend David's Bridal to anyone. Thank you David's for making my wedding process even more stressful. I bought a first communion dress for my daughter, it came in super wrinkled, and I asked to have the wrinkles steamed out before I left..."we can do that, it costs $25". I personally don't understand. I bought this dress that should be beautiful and flawless, right? I hate, hate, hate David's Bridal. I've been there several times for bridesmaid's dresses, and each time, the staff seems rushed and and act as though the customer is a nuisance. I had my dress altered recently, and while the seamstress wasn't rude, she didn't go out of her way to be friendly either. Conversation with her was non-existent. And the quality of dresses is poor for what you pay. I spilled a drop of water on mine once...and it left a water mark! read more

I would just like to say that I am not one to complain but after the many bad experience I have had with David's Bridal, after the experience I had last week, it was the last straw! When I originally went to David's Bridal to purchase my wedding dress in March 2019, the dress I selected had a little stain on it. I was not going to purchase the dress because of the stain. The employee that I was working with said "don't worry we will DRY CLEAN that for you." Myself, my mother and my future mother in law all heard "DRY CLEAN". So I took her word that the dress would be cleaned up and taken care of. I purchased the dress based on the associates word. Fast forward to June 2020. I asked a representative when I should schedule my appointment to have my dress dry cleaned. The lady said "we don't offer dry cleaning services." I told the associate how when I purchased the dress, that was what I was told. She said "we don't offer dry cleaning, just spot cleaning but don't worry, we will take care of any imperfections on the dress." Fast Forward to today, I go to pick up my dress from alterations. The girl I've been working with in alterations has been very nice. When I looked at the dress, the spot was still there. She said she will keep working on it until I was satisfied. I appreciated that. I was fine with that solution until this other employee comes up to me and says "for next time, you should never buy a dress with a stain." 1. Thanks for saying "for next time as I am standing in my wedding dress, you are basically implying my marriage isn't going to last and I am going to need another dress and 2. I told her I never would have purchased the dress had it not been for your associate that told me it would be taken care of. Her response to that was on it "well did you talk to a manager?" WHY WOULD I??? There was no reason that I had to speak with a manager at that point due to the fact the associate told me it would be taken care of. Why would I have gone to a manager to question the information provided to me by the staff? The staff member was basically calling me stupid and a liar. She also kept telling me how they aren't going to be able to get the stain out if it is self tanner/spray tan. Why is it taking until now, 23 days before my wedding for someone to tell me this? Why was I strung along for over a year that this stain would be taken care of? The day was ruined by this associate who was being beyond nasty to me and passing blame on me for believing what an associate told me. What poor customer service! I'm sorry but I've never purchased a wedding dress before in my life, nor do I plan on buying one ever again. I trusted that the associates would be able to educate me and not provide me with false information regarding services that they ultimately don't offer. Also, I'd like to add how the one associate ordered the completely wrong dress for my one bridesmaid. She ordered dress ending in '58' instead of '85'. They had my 11 year old niece's name listed as the bride and point of contact. They also ordered the wrong size dress for another bridesmaid. They ordered a size 12 instead of a size 2. It's a good thing my maid of honor caught that right away and had it corrected. The lack of attention to detail by the staff members I have worked with has been very disheartening. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the entire series of events that has happened. I would not recommend David's Bridal to anyone after all of the experiences that I have gone through. I was a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding. She went with David's Bridal because she lives in a small town, and so must of her wedding party so she went with a chain to make life easier on people. She gave me the color and the pin number. I went to the store, gave the women my friend's name, pulled up the info and it matched mine. A saleswoman went to the floor with me to find the dress. They didn't have the exact color but they did have the dress in a different color. I tried in on, it fit perfect as is. The saleswoman didn't push for alterations. She pulled on the straps a bit and had me twirl, she agreed that I should straight order the size 4. Filled out the paperwork, paid the money. Came back when they said it would be in. It was in way earlier actually. Tried it on, no problems. Left the store, and moved on with my life. Again I didn't need alterations so my experience was totally fine. I felt the dress was overpriced for the quality but its a national chain you're paying for the convenience. I gave it away for one of those high school prom dress donation businesses. The other women in the bridal party had shoes dyed to match the dress. Everyone is the bridal party showed up with different colored shoes, and none of them matched the dress. I'm assuming its some kind of formula for dying, and apparently no one at david's knows what it is. Of course their stores made them pay for it anyway even though they couldn't fix it, but those were different stores than this one in Hamburg. Overall: I wouldn't recommend getting alterations or shoes done at a David's. Otherwise you'll be fine! read more

Ok, so I have to amend my last complaint. There was a personnel shift in between the times I was at the store, and it was a completely different experience the second time I was there. The staff was absolutely amazing, and I didn't even buy an expensive dress. The woman who helped me around the second time helped me with every single thing I could have thought to ask for. The alteration seamstress was upfront and honest about sizing and what she could and could not do. The manager even helped out with finding me a dress size that fit (which is a whole 'nother rant, letmetellyou. I'm a size 12 in wedding dresses but...6 in NYC. Wtf.) and made sure that I got the dress I wanted before the sale ended so I could get the price. On the whole, helpful and pleasant. Just, watch out for the couple ladies that work at night that could care less about your experience. read more

I had such a good time finding my dress. We went on Monday from 10:30-12 but we ended up staying until 1:30. We never felt pressured to leave or get kicked out. We had the whole store to ourselves. I had Made an appointment months before the actual appointment date and when getting there I was told to wait until my time to check in. I had checked in and a consultant came over and told us she was working with a bride but grab a few to get started. we had a few dresses but needed some assistance, our consultant was no where to be found. She came as we were wrapping up. At this point I had called a manager over which did not come. Ended up leaving extremely angry and unhappy. I had a wonderful experience, Julianne was amazing and helped me determine which dress I actually wanted!! I was torn between a really expensive dress that was unique and looked beautiful that I had tried on and was pretty set on for about a week, and a almost as expensive clearance dress which also looked beautiful but more classic. She helped me feel confident in my decision to pick the dress that felt the most right, the second dress made me feel like a bride. She also went above and beyond to bring over some bridesmaid dresses in the colors I am considering just so I could see what looked the best! read more

I scheduled my appointment and apparently the girl assigned to me was also helping 2 other girls find dresses at the same time. She wasn't very helpful in general and seemed like I was bothering her. They had 1 of the 5 dresses I liked in stock. The girl that was supposed to be fitting me/helping me with dresses told me and my friends to go grab some dresses- I have no idea where anything was, that's why I scheduled and appointment. They were having a sale, and I had been browsing the website and had a few dresses in kind, so I made an appointment. I was greeted by sales consultant, Maddy. She was so helpful and friendly!! She found all of the dresses I wanted to try on, and was very enthusiastic. I tried on a total of five dresses and found the perfect one! I booked an appointment for the afternoon on a weekday hoping to get a little more attention since this was my first time looking for a gown. Not the most personable of experiences. I was the one to reach out my hand and introduce myself to the attendant once I realized she was jumping right into the appointment without so much as a greeting. The attendant completely ignored my mother who was standing with me. My attendant was taking care of two brides other than myself and was literally out of breath running between us. I felt like I was kind of left to fend for myself. She quickly pointed to the aisles of dresses and said, "Ballgowns here. A-lines there. And beachy gowns next aisle over. So go ahead and start looking." And then she took off. I was lucky to have my mom and sister with me to lace and clip my dresses. I'm sure my experience would have been better if they had more attendants working. I felt uncomfortable for most of my appointment like I was inconveniencing her by giving her dresses to have to put back on the racks. I was recently married in buffalo, and I live out of state. When visiting, I went with my mom to try on wedding gowns. I was very suprised at the lack of service in this store. I was greeted very warmly by staff and assigned a staff person to assist me with trying on gowns. After the initial introduction, the staff was nowhere to be found. I might expect this on a busy saturday, but it was monday. The store was practically empty. Luckily my mom was there to do the heavy lifting and to search for other sizes and gowns. I did not buy a dress here. I had decided to order bridesmaids dresses through david's because it was easier with people from all over the country in different cities to coordinate, and their colors match with men's warehouse which is also national for the groomsmen. To make a long story short, the store staff ordered the worng size dress for my bridesmaid, and when it was realized it was too late to fix and reorder. Instead they had her keep the dress that was two sizes too big and charged her $100 for alterations. This was just about the cost of the dress. Alterations were also an issue, as the staff could not get them right for her. It is suprising that they are able to stay in business between the inept staff and the awful service. On a side note, the storage of dresses within the store is disgusting to say the least. You will try on wrinkled, torn, and dirty dresses. Beware of buying off the rack. read more

I visited the Hamburg location on Sunday April 19, with the intention of purchasing a gown for my daughters prom. I have heard nothing but good reviews about the selection and customer service offered. However, I was completely disgusted with my visit. While my daughter and I searched through the dresses, without any help, three employees ( a young man in a suit, a blonde who greeted us, and a shorter, brown haired girl) stood at the front desk having a completely inappropriate conversation about drugs and alcohol that they have used. I'm sorry, but customers should not be subjected to that type of behavior from your employees Davids. We were approached by a friendly employee asking if we were being taken care of, however at that point it was much too late. I don't see us going back any time soon. read more

After a calling a couple of stores, I found it in Blasdell location. Stephanie took the time to look for, find the dress and shipped it to me complimentary 2 days later. Long story short, and I went to the one on Niagara Falls Blvd in Buffalo. I am very unhappy with my experience at davids bridal, my dress was dirty and they could only spot clean it which seemed to make it worse after three tries it was still dirty and the manager told me I could pick out another dress which if it costed more I would have to pay the difference, or she would give me 20% off the price I paid for my dress which wouldnt pay the cleaners amount that I would have to send it to. At this point I was so angry I walked out the store, leaving my gown because I was so upset I needed to leave the store because I don't know what I would have done. I would suggest if your getting married and you want your day to be happy, DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT go there for your wedding dress they have very poor customer service, also when two of my brides maids went to pick up their dress, no one helped them, and when I called to order my sister's dress they couldnt even find her in the system and I was with her when they had taken her measurements. A very bad experience. As of now my dress is still there, at this point I am not sure what I'm going to do. But stay tuned because this story will be continued depending on the outcome when my fiancee go to handle the situation for me because at this point I am too upset to go back into that store. So by Saturday, 4/30, I had calmed down enough for me and my BFF to return to the store because when me and my fiancee went a couple days after my incident the manager wasn't there and we weren't able to return the next day when she would be. So upon returning 4/30, I dealt with a different Manager that was there because the unpleasant one was on vacation, ( imagine that, she should take a permanent vacation with her attitude), anyway, this manager was very pleasant and had heard of my story, i guess the vacationing manager had filled her in on it, and although she stated that they couldn't pay the cost of cleaning, she did offer a return of a little more than 20% of what I paid for the gown which is what the other not so pleasant manager was offering. My gown is now in the cleaners and will cost $100.44 when I pick it up. So Larry W, if you want to make it better for me, returning the full amount that I paid for the gown would definitely make my experience with David's Bridal better and would also cover the gas I used going back and forth to check on my gown. I would think that a bridal store would do everything they could to make a bride to be experience in their store a happy one, but I can honestly said that's not what I received from your store. So as it stands right now I would not refer your store to any of my friends that's getting married now or in the future. Thank you 5/13/16 So my story continues, first of all I never heard anything else from Larry W, he never responded after the last review that I wrote, he could have offered to pay my cleaners cost, but he didn't even do that and now one of my bridesmaids are having issues with them. Considering my entire wedding party purchased their dresses from there I would think they would be a little nicer than what they are. DAVID BRIDALS SUCK AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE GO THERE FOR THERE WEDDING IF YOU WANT IT TO BE A JOYFUL AND HAPPY OCCASION WHICH IS WHAT ITS SUPPOSE TO BE. If i could give no stars, I would. I ordered a pair of bridesmaid dresses from this shop on march 5th one was for me, the other was for my sister, and was told that it would take four to six weeks for them to be dyed and then shipped. My dress arrived first and i asked for it to be sent to my home from the store as I was told the dress could be delivered, Not only did the employees not ship my dress they were not going to call and tell me it hadn't been sent. While this is irritating, My real problem is that it is now May 4th and my sisters dress has yet to arrive, despite it being well over the six week order window. Both of our dresses need extensive alterations and the wedding we are a part of is on the 3rd of June. After speaking with the store manager I was assured that the dress would arrive no later than the 12th of this month, A full ten weeks after I ordered it! read more

My D-I-L was standing up in a friends wedding. She has Crohn's and has taken a major turn for the worse. She is now 92 lbs and was told she has no other options but major surgery. She had to step down from the wedding party because of the emergency surgery. On top of it all, her loser husband wants a divorce. She tried to take the dress back today, after finding out all of this horrible news, and the girls at the Hamburg location couldn't care less. No refunds. Period. But she could get a store credit. That's FABULOUS service. Why wouldn't a seriously ill girl who's husband is divorcing her want a store credit to a bridal shop?!? Clearly these David's employees couldn't care less as they didn't think twice about their heartless decision. So many of her friends are getting married and she will make sure none of them go to David's, and I am in sales and will do the same. Hope that refunding one dress is worth all the business they are going to lose. They aren't the only game in town, and if they were...I'd learn how to sew before I would ever give them a penny.
