First off, if you decided to use David's in GB, don't go on a weekend. The place is a zoo, but not so bad during the week. According to the sales associate I worked with, this Davids does the highest volume on the east coast. They have a very wide selection, and most everyone is at least helpful on the sales floor. The manager is courteous and efficient and will help to find alternatives if time is of the essence. I did get my dress altered in house, which I would not recommend. They did an adequate job, however they are disorganized, forgot to write my fitting appointment in the book twice, then finally told me to come in later in the week unscheduled and wait until they could squeeze me in, which is tough with school, work, kids, etc. Furthermore, their alteration prices are nearly double what you would pay a tailor elsewhere, making it no where near worth the hassle. Overall, it was less than awesome, but it did the job. No major problems with purchasing the dress, just go out of house to get alterations done. read more

I went here to look at Bridal gowns on a Wednesday afternoon. I would highly recommend visiting this store during the week. The clerk also said that this is their slow time (October-December) but that business picks up very quickly in January. The woman assisting us was very helpful. She ran to the racks to find smaller sizes for me and to find similar dresses to those I seemed to like. She even brought out headpieces to match the dresses. She was very knowledgeable about store policies and procedures, and what alterations could and could not be done. With regards to quality, some of the dresses, especially satin ones, seemed to be made of cheaper fabric than you'd find elsewhere. However, I tried on some absolutely beautiful dresses that looked stunning. It seems to be hit and miss, as with any clothing store. read more

So obviously, being a male, I did not purchase a dress here. I did, however, attend an appointment with my best friend who did purchase her wedding dress here. If you're looking for a high end, luxurious experience, then I would skip David's Bridal. The furniture is dated, there's drop ceiling, and some of the clientele are not people you would want to meet in a dark alley. However, all those negatives aside, the staff was pleasant and knowledgable, the selection was great, and the facilities were clean, even if the changing rooms were a bit small for a big, poofy wedding dress. If you're looking for the perfect dress on a budget then David's Bridal is probably for you. Don't expect champagne and a lavish changing room. On my very first visit to the mega mall of wedding dresses called David's Bridal (DB), I was thankful that this wasn't my first dress shopping stop. Wow, what a selection! Rows upon rows of white, ivory, off-white, and even colorful dresses awaited me at every turn. After several previous stops at salons, my duo of a dream team was no longer new at sifting through heavy gowns and rapidly sizing up fit and match prior to the dressing room stage so the 1.5-hour appointment sufficed. Even on a weekend, DB was not crowded (a good thing for sure!) and I received some but not extensive attention, which was fine for my situation but if I desired more hand-holding and opinions from the salesperson then this would not have been the place to come. Unlike most bridal salons that assign a sales rep to work with each customer one-on-one, DB staggers the ratio to 1 staff member per a handful of brides so definitely come armed with your own staff (mom, aunt, bridesmaids, friends, whoever) if you want much of anyone's opinion. DB gets big, big, big bonus points for its late weekday and extensive weekend hours. This store is open on Sunday, an almost unheard of eventuality at numerous boutiques. Additionally, DB sells dresses for practically everyone one could imagine at a wedding (bridesmaids, flower girls, mother-of-the-bride/groom, etc.) and even rents tuxes. With plentiful locations nationwide, this would very well could be the place to go if your wedding party is geographically incongruent. A big plus to DB as well for allowing photography--from brides everyone, thank you for making choosing just that much easier! read more

Prema was very helpful and attentive, without being overly pushy like other sales associates we've met. She made everything much easier and offered her expertise in things we hadn't considered. Shew. This was not fun. I should have just NOT made an appointment and it would have gone better. Our "consultant" was miserable and just possibly having a bad day. I am not going to name her by name here as I am hoping, again, she was just having a bad day. Luckily I brought someone with me, as there was no help zipping up or going to find a size. During the one point she was actually helping me with a dress she was under my arm and I, someone who likes to be lighthearted, said "I'm sorry you are all under my armpits..." and she replied "I've learned to hold my breath." Then (bear in mind we had not even been there 90 minutes and seen her twice) she came back and said "So what is the plan?" We were confused about this question, so we asked what she meant. She said "I am really hungry and want to eat my pizza." We told her to go eat. She said "They wont let me." So at that point we felt like we should just pick the dresses we had on (since she said she was not allowed to eat until after we checked out) and so ... we checked out. There was a gentleman there that was helping two other people and helped us more than she did. Whomever he was, thank you. He was a delight. Had we not been pressed for time, we would have gone to Alfred Angelo just due to this experience. Hopeful her day is better today ... read more

I have heard a lot of horror stories from Davids Bridal but I have to say my experience was really great! I came into the store with no appointment, low expectations and no intentions of buying my wedding dress from David's. Well I ended up purchasing the first and hopefully last wedding dress I will ever wear. Forget any rumors you heard of bad customer service of ugly cheap dresses. They are all FALSE. I was greeted right away when entering the store. I asked to try on wedding dresses without booking an appointment. I didn't expect them to allow me to but they did. I filled out the paper work and was introduced to Mallory my dress consultant. She was super sweet and gave me instructions on what to do when picking out my dresses. Again, I didn't expect to find a lot of dresses I liked but I already had 10 dresses picked to try on. The very first dress was a 10 of 10 for me. Then there were two others I liked until I tried on "the One". It was one of their clearance dresses. Beautiful and unbeatable dress. I was sold. They have layaway available if you do not plan to purchase right away. The staff were all friendly and helpful. It was clean and the dressing rooms were spacious. There are tons of wedding/bridal accessories to choose from as well. I am so glad that I came to see the store for myself. It was a very memorable experience that I will never forget. read more

The 4 stars are only because of the consultant Kim J! The people at the front door wasn't friendly at all. I chose all of the dresses we were suppose to try on when I made my appointment ONLINE. I even printed out what I wanted, thankfully I walked with the paper of the items because the girl at the front desk had no clue. She even told me to go search thru the gowns and pick out what I wanted. I asked her: what was the point of me making an appointment? shouldn't y'all have these gowns ready? Secondly, they overlap appointments so at first I had to share my consultant with another bride. Thankfully she was finishing up. Consultant Kim J and junior consultant Amber were the reason I did not walk out of David's Bridal. They were amazing, they helped with everything we needed and instead of me and my party running thru the store grabbing dresses, Amber fell right in place. Once I found my wedding dress more drama came from the cashier and the manager Kesha. Instead of assisting and trying to resolve the issue Kesha started to be cold and unhelpful. I stood my grown and insisted the help that I was due. Apparently someone priced the dress I wanted with the wrong tag. Another manager had to come out to assist. I got the dress at the price I wanted. I made another appointment to go on a Friday 12:30 in the afternoon. Deena was assign to work with us. Long story short, I had to go pull all of the dresses and she did not help us at all. What a waste. She was so focused on another party (bridesmaid only) and she didn't even see if we needed help until we were about to leave. I kindly told her, we are finished now...no, we don't need no help. Smh. Who's managing these people and why is the customer service so poor? Again, the only good experience was when we were working with Kim J but because took time to assist and attend to us. Our party of six came in for and appointment on Saturday afternoon. The place was packed!!! People and dresses everywhere!! We were told to look around and pick some of the dresses we liked for our bride. We then were greeted by Troy, who made our experience one to remember!! He listened to every one of the bride's requests. She tried on many many dresses and Troy made sure that they were all the style, silhouette and price she had requested. He even said he had the perfect dress in mind for her, one that none of us had chosen, and he was right!!! The dress he brought was the perfect one!!! The bride loved it!!! Troy's level of customer service was spectacular! Definitely ask for him!!! He listens and makes sure you get what you are looking for. He was very patient and had great suggestions and was never pushy. Since most of us bridesmaids were there, we even tried on some dresses. Troy, again, was incredibly helpful in getting us all dressing rooms and making sure the dresses came in the color we need. The place itself could use a bit of a clean-up. It doesn't really inspire glamour! The associates at the front check-in and check-out were a bit abrasive and dismissive. All in all, we found the dress so that is a success in my opinion! read more

As a first time bride you can imagine how excited I was to go shopping for a wedding dress. Entering David's bridal, excitement turned into anxiety. My concern as being a plus size bride and not being able to find a dress to flatter my figure. Thank God he sent a angel, (My Jeffery). Words can't describe how patient he was with me and his comforting words. I even left the store feeling overwhelmed. When I came back about 20 minutes later, it was if I never left. I've been to this particular location twice and both times I've had a less than desirable experience. The customer service is horrible. The employees have condescending tones and try to rush you to make decisions. The experiences were so anxiety inducing, it took away the joy I was supposed to feel while preparing for my big day. I had a wonderful experience with Deena B. from David's. We stated off at the Bowie, MD location but were told Glen Burnie had a better selection and they were able to squeeze us in the same day. From start to finish Deena was great. She was able to help me find a few of the dresses that I had favorited online, suggest dresses in the price point and size as well as asked probing questions to help me narrow down what I was looking for. Super professional, efficient and very friendly, if you're able to get Deena, you're in great hands. While I'm still on the fence about what I want, I'll make sure to ask for Deena when I make my final decision. read more

I have been here twice now, the second time being Friday to give them a second chance because the first time their excuse was that I didn't have an appointment and they "did their best to accommodate me" I made an appointment months ago for Friday and explained to the girl all of my family and friends live in NJ and would be meeting me here she said that's fine and if I had to they can always move the appointment back if needed even the day of especially because I booked my appointment at 6pm. That isn't a common time anyway. I was running ten minutes late and called to let them know and some snotty worker of theirs gave me the same "well we will do what we can to accommodate you." I arrived at 610 and tell them who I am and that I have an appointment and some nasty host cuts me off and goes to call the person whos supposed to be helping me up to the front. Now when I made the appointment, I clarified that I'd been here already, and picked out what I thought I'd liked, and that the person who helped me really didn't help at all, (he disappeared the whole time and left me and my friend to do all the picking out and everything and I felt like I was being a bother to him which is why I didn't wanna come back.) They gave me the SAME GUY, the guy tells us to pick out dresses that I like and then hang them from the hooks and he'll be back. 30 mins later he shows up (after we were looking for him for at least 15 mins) and was like oh you picked some good ones! My sister and I get each of the dresses on, he doesn't help at all, with getting them on, with like pulling more dresses, or even just being there for opinions. When I planned on going to find my wedding dress, I pictured the person staying with you helping, you non stop, and grabbing dresses they think you'll like, and making it fun. he was MIA for lots of the time, and left me and my family and friends to do most of the work. Then I receive an email saying "sorry we missed you at your appointment would you like to reschedule?" After I left. Even though I made it clear I was there for an appointment when I arrived! For the "biggest David's Bridal in the world" I think it's really the biggest let down in the world. Will not be returning and will not be spending a dime here. There are some really good things about David's Bridal, as well as some not so good things. I originally came here a little over a year ago with 2 friends/bridesmaids, my sister/MOH, mom and grandma to look for a wedding dress. I knew that I wanted to come to David's because I had literally NO idea what I wanted and David's has so much variety that I was able to try on every major style of wedding dress to see what would work for me. Also the prices are pretty good, and when looking on my budget I felt like my dress wasn't what I wanted to spend the most money on. We made an appointment for a Sunday morning and we were some of the only people there - - this is unusual. There are certain times of the year when the line is out the door with stressed out, excited women and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even attempt to deal with that. If you have some time before the event you're shopping for I would recommend calling the store because they can probably recommend some times when you can come when it's less chaotic. We get there and check in and the hostesses tell us to start browsing and taking things off of the rack. So we're pumped and pulling from here and there for 5 or 10 minutes. Then the stylist assigned to us comes over in a cold sweat and starts yelling to put things back and that we shouldn't be pulling anything. So we all get pissed because we were following instructions and now we're getting yelled at. I figured the day was shot. Fortunately, she was able to turn things abound and we ended up having fun.... and I ended up getting a dress! I tried on a whole bunch of different dresses in what felt like a ridiculous bridal fashion show and we took a ton of pics! I kept asking about one dress in particular and the stylist, Ziomara, told me to wait and to try that one on last. In retrospect I realize it's because she knew that this was "the one". She's probably helped so many brides with so many body shapes and sizes that she took one look at me and knew exactly what I would look good in. I put the final dress on and walked out and knew I had to have it. And then.... commence cheesy Say Yes to the Dress type hooplah! They make an announcement and clap and you ring a bell and everyone is staring at you and it's a lot of excitement! At the time I was mortified and thought it was lame.... but in retrospect the memory makes me smile! That day we ordered the dress, slip and veil. They e-mail you when your order is ready in an inconspicuous e-mail that basically says "your thing is here, come get it in x number of days or else!" I don't know why they don't call. So a couple of weeks later my slip came in (kind of annoying that I couldn't make the trip to Glen Burnie to pick up the slip WITH the dress, but fine). Then about a month later my dress came in!!! You have to take the dress with you - you can't hold it there for safe keeping. I don't know if this is ordinary or not, but I couldn't believe how quickly the dress came. Then I'm waiting and waiting for the veil. Finally, 2 months later I asked if there was a delay. Evidently I was supposed to take the veil that I paid for home with me that day when I bought it, though nobody told me that. Fortunately I spoke with a manager who let me come get another one without a problem. I also got a little bit concerned about getting my alterations done there after seeing the alteration room - we all know that David's is a warehouse, but the alteration place is like a FACTORY. Also every person I spoke with at David's told me a different timeline for when I should be scheduling dress fittings. Those issues alongside the reputation for having very costly alterations led me to taking my dress elsewhere for that (Isabella Bridal in Nottingham). Finally: shoes. I ordered several pairs online and I was having the WORST time finding a pair that I liked. I decided to go to David's and they actually have a really good shoe selection with a lot of different styles and heel lengths. It's probably a more comprehensive selection of bridal shoes than you'll find anywhere else (excluding Touch Ups). The problem is that everyone can try any pair on and with so many people coming through a lot of the shoes are dirty or had footprints in them. I found the shoes I loved and then ordered them on the David's Bridal website - as an added bonus they always have coupons for online shopping. I recommend David's for a lot of reasons, but you need to have patience. My dress was beautiful and resilient and worked out really well for the wedding. I don't feel like my dress was lesser quality because it wasn't from Kleinfelds or something. But I would recommend going elsewhere for alterations. If you are patient with a more chaotic, busy place then you will probably find the dress you're looking for, and at a pretty good price. read more

My daughter and I went shopping for a prom dress. There were signs everywhere saying 30% off. I asked the clerk if the sale was ending soon and she said she didn't think so. We went back three days later and the signs now said $30 off. OK, fine. We select a dress but it's at $350 -- above our budget. It needs alterations so we speak to the alteration dept about the cost of alterations because if it was too much, we would choose a different dress. We chatted in detail about what would be done. She said the alterations would be approx $40. That sounded too good to be true but I assumed the store gave a good price for alterations to offset the cost of the dresses. When we went to our alteration appt a few weeks, the alteration fee was $156. The same woman of course had no memory of our conversation. Due to a time crunch, I moved forward with the alterations but my daughters will never again shop at David's Bridal. The finished dress is beautiful but it turned into a $500 dress. read more

my bridal party and I went the first time - the lady who "helped" us didn't even care about the wants or the needs of anyone in the party. All she cared about was herself and not helping. My bridal party is made up of bigger ladies and when We asked if she had the sizes for the girls she said "I don't know go look" and then went on doing other stuff. My bridal party went and found my brides dress and I went and found the bigger size dresses for my girls. that Day we ordered dresses in the sizes the girl told us and when we went back for a fitting none of the bridesmaids dresses fit any of the girls. Fast forward to the second appointment we had a different girl and was getting all the help needed until the manager decided it was time to rush people out meanwhile we had to get 5 different girls refitted and dresses changed. the service every time I call is disrespectful. The service in store is disrespectful and inattentive. Worst bridal shopping experience ever. Will never return to David's Bridal again. read more

So I'm giving this location one star because of the LACK of customer service that we received. First let me say that we had a large party with different sizes and ages. Second, the bride said I would like to find a dress for me as well but we ended up going and getting dresses for her. I personally felt that we should've had our consultant totally attentive to our needs and the vision that the bride has for her wedding. We had an appointment but we had to split our consultant with another appointment which I'm not sure if that's the normal for appointment but it seems that everyone else had their consultant to themselves. They were attentive and were helpful with the parties putting on their dresses and helping them take them off. I'm sorry, I work in the customer service field and this is just unacceptable and the fact that when we make our purchases she will get a large commission check which I don't think is fair! Then to have the consultants talking about us still being here is just beyond appropriate words for this review. I had high hopes for David's Bridal, but I was disappointed. We arrived at 11am on a Friday for an appointment, but they were late on opening the doors and we were not helped until 11:30. Our consultant was friendly, but he immediately told me that David's did not have the style I was looking for (flowy, destination style), which was off putting. He was also helping 3 other brides....which I was expecting a little more attention on a Friday during the workday. I only found one dress that I liked, but did not end up purchasing it. Horrible customer service. The woman who was assigned to help my sister find her MOH dress wasn't helpful and was MIA during the majority of the time we where there. After initially asking my sister the basic questions of style/type of dress, she brought about 4 dresses for my sister to try on. After that, I believe we only saw our sales associate one other time. After my sister tried on the dresses and waiting (and looking) for our sales associate to help find more options, my mother just took over and started going through the racks herself to find more dresses b/c that was a better and faster option! The store was very crowded-we did come in on the weekend-but there should be no excuse for the negligence of the woman who was suppose to make our experience easy and fun. There should be more staff covered if a sales associate has multiple customers at one time. But we have no idea if she actually had multiple customers b/c we only saw her one other time. We even tried to get her attention as she walked past us but she either didn't hear us or ignored us. We were at David's Bridal for about an hour and no one bothered to ask us if we needed help or if we had questions. We walked out and it seemed like we were invisible to the people (especially our sales associate) who worked there. My sister ended up finding a beautiful dress at Bella Bridesmaid. Worst service ever. I came here with my friend for her to try on wedding dresses for the first time. It's an overwhelming process in itself and the attendant didn't help at all. My friend ended up leaving so discouraged that she didn't want to try on anymore dresses. Out attendant, Amber, didn't help with the selection, didn't help with trying on the dress, she barely gave us the time of day and seemed like she didn't want to be working there. Ok so my experience was a little rough. First off I went there to find a dress for a ball. The girl who assisted me was nice and brought me a few choices to pick from. I had a tough time fitting into their gowns from the show room as I'm only 5'1 but I figured I'd have to get any gown hemmed. I tried on a few and she kept balking at me telling me the dress I had on was the one. Mind you I wasn't quite comfortable in it as it seemed it was very prommy but I took her word for it and bought it. With only two weeks to the ball, I had to hurry up and buy one to give the seamstress time to alter it. I was then told at the cashier that the $230 dress was not refundable but could only be exchanged for something else. This of course only after I asked. I hesitated but bought it anyway. Sure enough friends and family did not agree with my choice. So I went back the following weekend (a 35 mile drive) and hoped to god they would exchange. They did. No hassles. I picked another dress exactly $100 less so Jeff said get something else. I found the perfect Vera wang shoes, last on the rack and my size! Everyone at this store was pleasant and accommodating. Nonetheless, I don't think I'll be buying another dress there since they don't refund, even if the dress has never been worn or altered and the tags were still on and it had only been 7 days since I bought it. They could've easily put it right back on the rack! Even car dealers will take a car back after 30 days! Need to change this DB! Your losing customers fast! Today, myself, mother and two grandmothers accompanied my sister to her wedding dress appointment. All I can say is WOW!! We had our 11:00 appointment with Alexis and she was more than wonderful! My sister was very excited and was going very fast, but Alexis made it go smooth and painless! We ended up finding THE DRESS (Alexis even picked it out!) as well as a rehearsal dress and bachelorette dress! Everyone in the store was so friendly and helpful!
