You gave me back a generic necklace and that is not what my parents gave me. My dad died on their trip of a lifetime in Italy of foodpoisoning. All I would like is for you to replace it with another gold necklace which is what I gave you. My parents raised me to be honest and to be honest you took advantage of me. Is it my age or your attitude that makes you ok with this kind of behaviour. I retired after 37 years as a Realtor that had no complaints against my license. Can you say the same? Now all I am asking for once can you do the right thing? I know you are Italian as I am which makes this worse. Do the right thing. And I will bring my children with me this time. My son really wanted to speak with you and I told him no. I am not used to having others fight for me. When it is the right thing, I should not have to, though my daughter Laurie comes to you for her jewelry needs. I will also bring my other daughter vikki because she also noticed that the chain you exchanged is not the real one. Do the right thing. 1m Reply Marie DeMaria mariedemaria@att.net 3122377256

Two years ago I repaired two broken ankle bracelets at this store and right before closing the store manager noticed three teens entering the store and didn't even warn me to return to my table at the front where my backpack, my pyrenees and my free people back full of belongings were. She and her associate just watched unemotionally as I begged the one teen not to leave with my bag and chased him down an alley all by myself. One sweet woman in the alleyway grabbed the kid but he kept running and the police outside were also unhelpful and wouldn't take my name and information for a police report because they said they were too busy. I called the police from my smartphone but no one arrived. I was exhausted and sad and traumatized and I asked the manager that evening why she hadn't locked the door for my safety since I was the last customer that evening and they were close to closing anyway and she shrugged her shoulders non chalantly and said it's a fire hazard to lock the doors. I was given footage and photos of these kids so I uploaded the images on the Nextdoor app hoping someone would recognize the teens so I could press charges and get names for the police. The owner offered me $25 and begged me to remove the incident from the Nextdoor App permanently so I honored her wishes and Yesterday when I wanted to repair two anklets again the manager screamed at me and told me I had been permanently banned because I had defamed them on the Nextdoor App. First of all I was trying to get help from the neighbors in the Ukrainian Village area and the neighbors stated multiple stores do get targeted on Division Street by teens who target shoppers and store owners. Secondly I wasn't dissuading people from shopping there. Before the theft I always enjoyed picking out beads and found it relaxing to put back together my anklets and I shopped there often or whenever I was in the neighborhood. I didn't realize the owner was paying me $25 to never come back but that's exactly what the manager said to me yesterday evening so in honor of their wishes I will not shop there again. It's odd how they were more concerned about their "reputation " than the well being of the customers. I feel they lack empathy especially for their female customers and supposedly this boutique is female run and owned. Relaying a true story and making sure others are safe is important to me. If they knew that store owners are being targeted by teens along Division street they should have warned me not to leave any of my personal belongings on the work table with my dog unattended. They could have locked the door for my protection!

I've shopped at the Chicago location several times for gifts and to add to charms and purchase additional pieces. All of the jewelry is handmade. I love the classic charm necklace but also have the bangles and several pairs of earrings. I still love and wear them all! My necklace has held up incredibly well - it still looks new. The ladies who work in this store are sweet and will definitely help you pick out the perfect gift. Some of the pieces are pricey but they do have some more moderately priced items and ask to see the sterling silver if gold is not your thing. Your gift will be wrapped up in a pink box w/ gold bow. Girly but not too much! If you are in the Lincoln park area it is fun to browse and try a few things on.

It was pure chance, but it mattered to us in a big way. It had to be: right ring, right price, right sales person, right day, and then some magical grace sprinkled in. My girl friend and her family are very schooled at buying jewelry. They are fussy. My family doesn't buy jewelry, so this was all about her. And she was nervous. She was going to have her family jeweler to make our ring. I encouraged her to stop in a few places with me just so see what we would see. We stopped at four places before we came to Trabert & Hoeffer and I said to Les, "Let's stop in here. Remember, we are not looking for a ring; a ring is looking for us!!!" And there it was. But the bottom-line is this: if Stella D'Orazio had not been our guide and ring-therapist, WE would not be getting this ring. We loved her. She was kind, gracious, direct, informed, and SHE LISTENED. She cared about us, but more importantly she cared about Les. So thank you. You are lucky to have Stella working for Trabert & Hoeffer.

Last year, it was so warped that I couldnt get it on my finger. They charged my $185 to get it resized. This year, I could tell that the prongs were loose. It was catching on my clothes, and the diamond felt loose. I went in and dropped it off in order to get an estimate, and they called me back and told me it would cost $550. I was shocked, not only that the repairs would be so extensive in only 5 years, but that they would not stand by the quality of their work and cover the repairs. They looked at me in bafflement when I questioned why they wouldnt cover the repairs as basic maintenance, and Estelle actually laughed out loud at me. When I eventually took my ring to Denise Ferro at Windy City Diamonds, she told me that she could fix it for $180, and was also shocked that the made the ring so poorly, and then wouldnt stand by their work. I have split prongs on my ring, and she informed me that they werent even technically split prongs, but were single prongs that had been cut to look like split prongs. Do not shop here. Some of the workers are nice, but most, especially Estelle, are rude and treat customers badly. The work is not high quality, and they charge extensive amounts for repairs that occur from basic wear and tear. I was extremely disappointed in this store, and will never be returning. Do yourself a favor and go to Windy City Diamonds.

I was greeted by Diamond, who asked me to sign in and after me inquiring, explained this is so that if anyone comes in contact with someone who contracts Covid-19, they have customer information should they need to contact due to possible exposure. I thought that these are good guidelines to have. I then told her what I was looking for and she guided me over to the wedding bands. They have all kinds of really nice styles from simple to bling bling! Diamond was very nice and helpful and Roselyn also came by to give assistance and personal opinion which I really needed because there were several rings I liked - note, this wedding band will be a surprise Christmas gift for my fiancee. I was finally able to narrow it down to 2 rings. I really needed to get back to work as I had been there longer than planned. It was my intention to come back after work that day to decide which ring I wanted to purchase but due to work constraints I wasn't able to get back and it was the last day of that sale. He was extremely patient and helped us pick out our wedding bands. He did not seem bothered by both my fiancé and I equally pulling out potential rings we wanted to try on. He gave us great feedback and helped us learn about the future discounts we scored for our next purchase. I was able to pick up my ring during our first visit because I was the model size. My fiancé had to wait because he needed a different size which meant we would have to come back. But Antoine made sure he notated the ring paper so we could take advantage of all the future discounts. Today I stopped by the store to pick up the ring as well as the watches we planned on getting. This is when I was introduced to Danielle who was equally as amazing as Antoine. She was able to find the notes Antoine left which made the process 10xs faster. She was able to apply the discounts to the new purchase and helped me determine which watch was a little more affordable. I am genuinely happy that I stumbled upon Kay during a random ring stopping trip. I would normally not think of going to a franchise type jewelry store but I was pleasantly surprised. This location will be my go to place for jewelry especially while Antoine and Danielle work at the location.
