I had a soulful Sunday experience at the Michigan Avenue store! My first time in the store, it's a quaint store and it was a little busy. I went after church to get 5 pieces cleaned up and polished. I had to wait for a little bit but that was no problem. I was assisted by Atsuko and she was amazing. I had 3 bracelets and 2 necklaces I brought in and she assisted me with my necklace I had on as well to be cleaned. She offered water or champagne, champagne please and said it would be a few moments for the cleaning. I sat comfortably and enjoyed the store and watched other clients be serviced as they shopped. David Yurman is an incredible brand, the craftsmanship of the pieces are top tier so you are investing in beautiful pieces of work and the value is you are truly taking care of as long as you have your jewelry. read more

We popped into David Yurman when we were in town, it was around the corner from our hotel. It was a Monday and pretty slow, and the sales associate helped us immediately. I asked to have my ring and bracelet cleaned and browsed while they were completing. The pieces were beautiful and the store was immaculately clean. I tried on a few pieces I loved and made mental notes of what I really liked. I will say majority of the pieces shown are embellished and include diamonds or other beautiful details. These tend to be the ones that are extremely pricy. There weren't a ton of bracelets on display that I've enjoyed browsing online that were a bit more affordable. Regardless we were treated well, and I know this comes with the territory of shopping in a more tourist focused spot. People like to purchase something super special and memorable. Overall it's a great spot to visit, just to browse like I did. read more

The David Yurman downtown is one of their flagship stores. I've been a fan of his work for quite some time. And if you like his stuff, you definitely owe yourself a trip to the store. Bright and well laid out, you can easily see what they have. My husband actually bought a ring for me for Christmas. But it wasn't exactly what I wanted and they easily exchanged it for me. And of course I needed it sized, so they had their jeweler size it for me that week. It just gave me another excuse to come downtown for the day - always a good thing! I stopped in David Yurman at least 5 times last year while having every intention of making a purchase. Not that it should matter, but I've usually worn a sport coat if not a full suit. I haven't been acknowledged a single time. ..not even a fake smile, head nod or any other nonverbal. The store has never been busy during my visits, often having more associates than customers. I intentionally walk around for a few minutes just to see if it'll be my lucky day. Nope. ..0/5. It's particularly fascinating when other guests are greeted before the door even closes behind them. After only having poor customer service experiences, it makes me wonder if this is reflective of their brand or just this location. read more

I've been a fan of David Yurman's designs for quite sometime and it was a treat to walk into the Chicago store and see what was on display. We were greeted by the most friendly, Randal. It was such a pleasure to work with him. He showed us pieces that we had asked to see and also gave us ideas of what else was available. I initially walked in the door to help my friend make a decision on a purchase, and the three of us all ended up walking out with a special piece. I've spent years of visiting my favorite man, David Yurman, in dept stores like Bloomingdale's and Neimans, where he doesn't get nearly enough space with just 1 or 2 display cases. But that's all changed now because he's opened his very own lovely store (right across from my gal Jimmy....Jimmy Choo that is) on Oak Street. I've been anxiously awaiting the opening of David Yurman's boutique for months now so was ecstatic to see yesterday that they have been now open for a week. A nice surprise, although a phone call would have been nice from Mr. Yurman after all the money I've spent on him...I kid. Anyway, the store itself is gorgeous, the sales associates have huge smiles on their faces (I would too if I got a discount on David Yurman!) and the jewelry selection is VERY impressive. I wish I could say I could rate the service here. I walked in with my girlfriend. We waited ten minutes while two people were helping others. During those ten minutes, another person who worked there was standing on her phone ten feet away from us, but I had assumed she was on her break because she hadn't come up to us and she greeted a Potbelly delivery person immediately when they entered. A couple, a man and a woman, then came in, and she immediately walked over and asked what they needed help with, not even three feet from where we were standing and waiting. Very decadent! Service is always professional and helpful. Sometimes it takes me a while to decide on just the right piece and my jeweler Jennifer is always helpful. She gets her clients. She reads their mood. When you describe the recipient of a possible gift, she helps narrow your search. I always leave feeling we'll assisted and oh so happy with my black & silver bag! read more

Bought my ring in King of Prussia. Was here to exchange the ring a size down. I had to return it instead because I didn't like how I was treated. I was not greeted by anyone, when I walked up to an associate,she said hold on a minute. Now, the clients there are holding glasses of champagne and I didn't even get offer even water. I really hope this not because I'm Asian. Or I looked like I couldn't spend money in your place because I'm a regular to Tiffany and never had I been treated this way . My husband and I have shopped at the Michigan Avenue store several times over the past few years - starting with our engagement/wedding rings. My husband has a size 15.5 ring finger and the sales person (Jennifer Z.) was great to work with, helping us find the options we liked that would work in his size. We continue to return not only because we like the Yurman design, but because of the fantastic service we receive. As a gay couple, we have always felt welcome and Jennifer even wanted to see pictures of our wedding/honeymoon when we returned. I received my first David Yurman piece recently for a monumental birthday from my father. Unfortunately, the bracelet was too large. So, I called the store and asked that they place the smaller size on hold for me. I was told that the bracelet was placed on hold. When I arrived to pick up the bracelet, the staff was unable to find it. I waited in the store for 30 mins. and I was eventually informed that the bracelet hadn't arrived via FedEx yet. Being told that the bracelet is on hold and that the bracelet hadn't even arrived in store yet are two different things. Had I been told the bracelet had to be shipped I could've asked that it be sent to my home or planned to pick it up later. I was offered returning later during the day to pick it up, which was inconvenient. The bracelet ultimately ended up being shipped to my home. The staff was kind and did their due diligence searching for the bracelet, however my first/last time experience in the store was not a pleasant one. Was very surprised by the way the engraving of my ring was handled. Jennifer Zarouchliotis originally quoted me a three week timeframe, I found out the standard is 5 to 6 weeks for engraving. It ended up taking two months to get my ring back and I was the one who had to keep calling to check on the status. When I talked to the man at customer service one of the three times that I called, he said he would connect with Jennifer to call me to see if they could do anything to make me have a good experience. I never once received a call back. When I went to go pick up my ring, the sales associate had no idea that I called so many times and even she was surprised when she looked at the timeframe of how long it took for the engraving, she only offered me her apologies. The ignorance and arrogance of this store has completely turned me off to David Yurman and the only good thing about the ring that I purchased is to remind me to take my business elsewhere every time I look at it. read more

I love David Yurman and always get excited over a new piece! However the staff at the Michigan Ave location is lackluster. They have a "can't be bothered" demeanor and provide a very low level of customer service for a luxury relator. I went into the store inquiring about a missing diamond and when in the store they pushed me out and told me nothing was wrong with the piece. However, I did not take their opinion and brought it to Bloomingdales where they confirmed there was in fact a missing diamond. I brought my pieces back to the DY on Michigan after to get my pieces cleaned and an estimate on my repair. The sales person cleaned my pieces and came back with one piece that was now missing 3 diamonds. In addition, to missing diamonds, he complained that now he had to "change the water in his machine." After going back and forth he agreed to repair the piece for free. When my piece arrived back in the store no one called me or reached out. When I finally reached out the gal who answered the phone sighed and was very disgruntled by my call. Upon the retrieval of my piece I will never shop at this location ever again. I understand the retail market and how tight it is and am always happy to support my local locations. Except in this case. Online, Bloomingdales, and other locations will be receiving my business. read more

Purchased a chain and a charm from them online a while back. I broke the clasp on the chain, and when I went to the store, they wanted to charge me $85 and then take 6 WEEKS to ship the chain out and repair- and with the reliability of the mail these days that's exactly what I want done with my expensive jewelry. You would think a luxury brand like this would have in house repairs on certain days of the week??? Gucci, LV and Rolex all do..... Get with the program Yurman you can charge the prices you do for your products and then not offer timely repairs. I can do it cheaper through a private jeweler. Not to mention the girl on the phone gave zero f*cks, and offered no alternatives.....as a sales person wouldn't you use this as an opportunity to find a replacement???? 100% would not recommend this physical store at all. read more

I think the selection is better at the North Park Mall in Dallas, but the customer service, at this location, is second to none. On a Saturday morning, the wife said "You need to spend the David Yurman gift card I bought you." Me: Uh, I just want to find an outdoor patio, and sip on a Bloody Mary. [Ten minutes later] I have a glass of champagne in my hand, while two Yurman employees are trying to retrieve the gift card # on the store laptop (I left the physical card in Texas), so I can spend it on a new ring. My only concern is when they cleaned my ring it was discovered it was missing stones. David Yurman experience is TERRIBLE online. We are in a position where we cannot visit a retail location (and who does that anyway these days?) due to business travels. We don't have time for champagne and other sales pitch nonsense. So we just want to make a purchase online and get something shipped. The item they have is in stock but their verification system won't complete purchases, so it will get rejected and returned on your card. What a joke! Even if you try with a different card or billing details, they said "no" lol.... We have several DY pieces, including black diamond cuffs and their time pieces -- they are not cheap. The only way they can differentiate themselves from the competition is by offering a better online experience and phone customer service. We are sorely disappointed and will be taking our services to James Allen, Whiteflash, Blue Nile, Stephen Webster, etc. Done with DY and this retail nonsense. You are growing old fast and not accommodating to the up and coming millennial generation. Update your old systems and way you manage your employees, who apparently do not like working there (read reviews on Glassdoor.com). They obviously do not care when you talk with them and that starts with the top people, including David Yurman himself. Also, get out of retail. You're losing business and clients. read more

They say not to say something bad until you have a chance to remove all emotion and get to the facts. Well ... I've finally reached that point. First let me start by saying that I own many pieces of David Yurman jewelry and ... knock on wood have never had any issues with any of my products or questioned the quality until now. Late 2015 my fiancee and I went to DY on Oak Street and started our search for the perfect engagement ring. We ended up falling in love with something completely different from what we had thought we wanted. We put a hefty deposit of $10,000 down and wanted some time to decide if we were going to opt to use their interest free for 12 months credit or pay cash for the balance due. We were advised that as long as we didn't get caught in the Holiday Rush that the turn around time would approximately 2 weeks. We mentioned that we would make our decision within the next 2 weeks. No warning sign that we could possibly get stuck in Holiday Rush so were good. The 2 weeks go by and we go back to finalize payment and get my engagement ring ordered. As they custom create the band at the time the order is finalized and place the stone that you purchase on that band. Still good. Then we are asked when we would like the ring by, is there any specific date that we need it by. I said not really (believing that we were 2 weeks out). Then the news of 6 weeks is dropped on us, 6 weeks it was going to take to have this ring made. Of course it's because we were caught in the Holiday Rush. Not happy about this at all, yet there is nothing we can do. We leave, get home and express our dissatisfaction and get a rush on the order approved by corporate. Not going to be 6 weeks, it will be done in 4 weeks. Guess it's better than nothing. Ring arrives ... super excited. As we are about to sit down we are told .... the ring has indeed arrived and unfortunately it was made to the wrong size. That corporate uses a different sizing tool than the stores do. Super confusing and clearly doesn't make sense. Again ... what can we do, as it is clearly too big. Call is placed to corporate and timeline determined to be that we need 2 days for shipping and 1 - 2 days for corporate to re-size the ring. Drop off on a Monday and have the ring by Thursday or Friday. Seems like an OK plan, I just want my ring now. After all this is one of the most exciting times in a girls life. 3 days go by and ..... Corporate has a message. Every ring that comes back to corporate automatically goes through inspection to check the condition and make sure that it's actually the correct ring. Here is what the report says "Center round matches GIA cert ID, round diamond is OK and secure. Ring Shows wear, reside under center round, with dents and scratches, 2 prongs have cracks. current size 4.75" Corporate says they are going to make me a new band ... didn't they already make me a new band? This one was 3 days old ... how does this happen? How do I know that this is actually a real diamond at this point? A $30,000+ investment and we can't trust the quality, what a shame and sad experience to go through from a company that was high on my love list. We were also told that we would receive a hand written note from David Yurman ... still nothing and it's 6 months post purchase. Corporate Yurman you are a huge disappointment to me. I purchased 2 rings here (at a value of over $1500 each), and was told that there would be a wait of several weeks on one of them. It is now 4 months later, and they still have not arrived. No-one at the store returns my calls or answers my emails. It is simply $3000 down the drain. I'm going to have to get my credit card company and the BBB involved at this point. Amazing customer service. A year-ish ago, my boyfriend bought my DY ring in Virginia. It didn't fit, so I took it to this store to have it resized. At the time, I was 19 and something I really appreciated was how polite and helpful the staff was since we all know salespeople can sometimes be rude to younger people. Anyway - I go to school in St. Louis and when the ring was done being resized (approx. a month later), I was back at school. I didn't want to ring sitting around until I was home again almost two months later. I called the store, and they were very helpful in coordinating with me so my father could pick the ring up for me. I've been coming to this location for a little over a year and love it. My partner and I had been browsing for engagement rings for a while and stopped in a few times. The service was ok, but it wasn't great. Then, we walked in one day and met Susanne! She is absolutely lovely. We went in looking for one particular style and with her guidance we ended up with styles that we are even happier with. She definitely tells you the truth about how certain rings look and which ones look better on one person or another. On that day we bought a huge diamond signet style nugget ring and a 3 row diamond men's band. I am very put off by stuffy places where the staff snubs you b/c they don't think you are a serious buyer. I got my other DY piece from Bloomingdale's (prior to the DY store opening, the Bloomie's had the largest DY spread in the midwest) like so--I had known what I wanted, told the employee, they took it out, and I paid. After some light research on the internet for what kind of david yurman ring I wanted, I decided to head in even though I was unsure what I'd get. I have the traditional sterling silver rope bangle bracelet with 14 k gold knobs on each end that my mom gave me and I wanted to get another bracelet to compliment the one I've had. Service was friendly, professional and with a smile by 2 staff members to show me everything David Yurman has to compliment the bracelet I wear almost everyday. I ended up with a link bracelet when I was sure I would get another bangle. I like how the reps each put in their own vision of what I thought I wanted from the Yuman look, and they were right. The shop is somewhat imposing as their prices are generally sky high. Staff is helpful when asking for help, which is what I did. I think there's a lot of lookie Lou's that aren't interested in buying, and thus, they are ignored by employees. They charged me for remove some beads and promise when it's done they will make it free shipping to me. I waited almost 3 weeks and did not get my bracelet. Their attitude was to get rid off me as soon as they could. I don't get the attention they gave other pedestrian that where in there. Quality Yurman store. The store is relatively large so they have a good selection of pieces. The staff is very friendly and not overly pushy. They also clean your jewelry for free! While I normally get great service when I go here, on occasion I've gotten the vibe from some employees that they don't think I can afford their jewelry. CS was having a grand opening event so I came with my fiance. The service was outstanding. There was champagne and hors d'oeuvres for everyone. We looked at a few pieces. I found a ring that I liked but it was not in my size. The sales associate said that she could order the size so that I could try it on to get a better idea of the look. Just had an amazing service experience in the Yurman store on Oak Street in Chicago! I broke my bracelet and took it in to see if it could be repaired. Within minutes I was walking out with a replacement. It's great to see that there are still companies that promote great customer service and loyalty.
