I used to drive about an hour just to see Dr. Hwang because he's truly the first dentist that made…read moreme feel comfortable and safe under his care. When I first went into his office, I had a good 20 something years of horrifying dental experiences. From my first dentist who forced spreaders into my little mouth and likely caused my TMJ, to the dentist who was so careless, inattentive (and just plain evil) that she attempted to do a root canal on me after my anesthetic wore off (not even asking if I felt pain) and without her assistant present to suction the blood and debris because she was too impatient to wait for her return from break. (The end result of which was me choking and spitting up the pool of blood that had formed in the back of my throat all over my own shirt and not receiving so much as an apology, just an expression of irritation.) I digress, Dr. Hwang is the exact opposite of that. You never feel like you're one of 10 plates the dentist is spinning, running from one room to the next to maximize patient count for $$$. Instead, you meet genuinely kind reception, a calm atmosphere, modern equipment and a dentist with great skill and gentle hands who always seems fully attentive and explains everything to you thoroughly. You won't be aimlessly sitting in the dental chair for hours waiting for him to return while your anesthetic wears off. Instead, you'll have quick, gentle treatment and consultation on your options. Some of my biggest dental regrets are the bad dental work I received at various dentists before I discovered Dr. Hwang. Unfortunately, I don't have insurance anymore so I had to find a medi-cal dentist and thankfully I did eventually find one I love, but every so often I'll get a birthday e-mail from Tri Valley Aesthetic and look back fondly and wish I could return and someday I think I will. If you have the option, I would highly recommend Tri Valley Aesthetic under Dr. Hwang.

Have been with LDC for over 10 years and admittedly I should have written 2 reviews long time back…read more First review: it's for Justin, front desk support. Sadly, he has left LDC. That said, I'm hoping he gets to read this. Justin is super friendly, caring, thoughtful, funny and helpful. He is one of those people that you won't forget and love going back to LDC. He remembers me and my precious furry baby Popperz. And never fail to ask how he is doing and what latest great adventures my hubby and I have been to. He even recommended me the best dental insurance when I had to get one. He is just such a good guy. I wish he is still with LDC. But I trust he is doing well and exploring his next adventure with zeal. Second review: it's for Wei, dental hygienist. I had many different dental hygienist for the last 10 years with them. And recently (1year or less), I knew Wei will be the best go-to dental hygienist. She's super attentive, jovial, meticulous, encouraging and more. She has 2 cutest furry babies ever. And has them on her monitor screen. It feels so at home and I love it. She loves her fur babies and shares how she manages them including doing their teeth. Lol. She takes care of my teeth very well and recommended me good dental products for maintenance. I love that she is there. Besides, everyone in LDC is very nice. But these are the 2 prominent support team members that I have the need to shout out! Thanks Justin and Wei!

This review is long overdue...(and long)…read more Have you ever wandered down a street ... and discovered a hidden bookstore you've never gone into before. You feel a pull - so you wander in and are awe-struck by all the wonders you discover inside. You want to stay a long time. But you know you eventually have to go - because if you linger too long, they may think you're weird? That's how I feel at Dr. Eccles office. lol! (FYI: they have a small book selection that's incredible; books that are rare to find.) Dr. Eccles office was my answered prayer after a long-standing, hidden and scary tooth infection and my first biologic dentist. To date, they've saved two of my larger back teeth. Biomimicry is the way of the healing future and Dr. Ward Eccles is on the cutting edge, yet never pretentious & always down to earth. Care is always done with compassion. The office staff reflects the art of customer service. Audrey, Megan, and Elizabeth are absolute gems who always make you feel like family. Audrey is a wealth of knowledge and will always rise to meet you where you are to make sure you understand everything. Everyone has a great sense of humor but is also impressive when it comes to knowledge, skillset , professionalism and talent. Dr. Shah is my dentist with swag - she is her! I'm always educated on my options and they always start conservative. Dr. Mark is also wonderfully kind and steady-handed, as is Dr. Eccles himself. Dr. Renee is the absolute best and my dental hygienist Hoodah is top tier, her solid confidence is reassuring, she's thorough, gentle, humble, kind. I would say everyone there has a great bedside manner. Which is the new currency in this economy: top notch customer service. The ozone shots here optimize healing for a very affordable price. Imho- the star of the show. All of their prices are affordable. Care Credit makes cash pay easy. I make the drive from Antioch because they're worth it. I've learned so much from their quaint and friendly office and staff. If you're looking for reasonable, affordable and integrative alternatives in dental care with passion and pizzazz, go to this office. Highest integrity and honesty as well. Bonus: They are well connected with outside practitioner referrals when needed. Thank you for being in the dental space. Thank you for being in the healing space of REAL healers! They won't ask you do you need help with anything even if they saw me walk into the office. I had to walk up to tell them I had an appointment. Anyway, I visit this office twice. The first time the Doctor say in a nice way I need deep cleaning, however, I didn't do it. 6 months later I went back for my second annual cleaning. This time the Doctor rise his voice say to me, I already told you, you need to do deep cleaning, your gum is bad and you will lose all your teeth. One of his staff was next to me when she heard the Doctor says that to me. She shakes her head to agree with Dr. Luu. When I see her reaction I was like WTH, now I get why your staff is impolite and unprofessional. In my head was like no matter what, you don't rise your voice to patients, and I will do the deep cleaning somewhere else at least with a nicer Doctor, I will never come back here again. In 2022, I went to a different Doctor and I insisted to ask do I need a deep cleaning. This Doctor told me no you do not need deep cleaning at all, your teeth and gum are healthy. This year 2023 I went to another Doctor, this Doctor didn't even say I need any major services like deep cleaning, my teeth and gum are healthy. Because of my insurance, I go to different doctors. Why am I writing this review after 2 years later, it is because I have seen two doctors, and none of them told me I need deep cleaning besides Dr. Luu. Not sure if he is still new to dentistry, he needs more experience or he needs to work on his customer services skills or he wants to get more money from his patients but for sure I won't go back to Mint dental.
