I hope this isn't too long to read, but I have a lot to say about David the Dog Walker and my dog walker - Jay.
When I first moved to WS a year and a half ago, I was super new to the area and didn't know the Admiral district from the Alaska Junction. I surfed Craigslist a little, followed up on an ad for a dogwalker there, after a few e-mails, spoke to him on the phone and got so creeped out I told the guy I didn't need a dog walker anymore, and hung up. So then I googled dog walkers in WS and found DTDW team.
Angela and Jay came to my home to meet my precious toy poodle Milo and me. Milo and I fell in love instantly, seriously, they stayed at my house for over 45 minutes, getting to know us, our routine and telling us about themselves.
Of course, Milo would know exactly what days Jay was coming, he would just give me a bored look when I walked out the door to go to work, his Jay was going to be there soon.
What I like the most about Jay is that he leaves the best, most detailed notes about what they did, which little coat Milo would wear, who they encountered etc...
My little Milo got very, very, life threatening ill in July of last year. I was so close to losing him, and Jay, Angela and David all showed the utmost concern and care. I interrupted my service for a bit Milo wasn't able to take walks, and I had to catch up on the medical bills. Jay stopped by to see Milo, and he would call to check on us. Always in the nicest way possible. When Jay came over on his own time to visit Milo, Milo slowly and laboriously walked over to him wagging his stubby little tail.. so happy to his Jay.. put me right into a fit of tears. (actually it's doing it to me now, just remembering it!)
Anyway, we resumed walking when Milo was better. It was a miracle actually, he sprang back to life at 110%!
After all of that, Milo lost his life. It was a car accident.. and I can't even explain how devastated I was. Jay, Angela and David were caring and supportive and devastated for me as well.
I ended up with another toy poodle soon after. I was just devastated and lonely. Then Chloe came into my life. I got her at only about 8 weeks old and the first thing I did was call Jay - Oh my goodness. I'd never had an actual puppy before! I had no idea what to do with her!
Jay jumped right in, he came over to meet little Chloe and we talked about everything. Jay has developed her into the most precious little bundle of black fur you've ever seen. She sits on command, has from the very beginning, sits patiently at crosswalks and stop signs. She's a perfect lady whenever we go anywhere, when she's around other dogs, children, animals. I always say Jay does all the hard work and I get the credit!
I was so lucky, I don't just have a dog walker with DTDW and Jay, I have family.
The end!
