As a result, she exhibited the beginnings of fear aggression, which I understand is common in German Shepherds. My vet recommended immediate puppy school and I chose Amanda because of her reputation for being upbeat and training in a positive manner. Whelp (snicker), turns out I picked the right trainer. Amanda knew how to help Sophie develop confidence and she also watched her carefully for signs of fatigue and stress during class. Sophie thrived under Amanda's training. I swear Sophie would say (in doggie language), "Pick me! Pick me!" whenever Amanda needed a volunteer pup to show the class a new trick. She LOVED puppy school. She LOVES Amanda. Amanda uses clicker training and other methods of positive reinforcement so you can toss out that awful pinch collar and teach with gentleness and humor. No more feeling guilty about using those harsh training methods that were the norm for so many years. And you'll have fun. And your pup will have fun. We thought Bento was an aggressive dog, but Jamie said he was just reactionary so he was willing to train him. We have been working with Jamie for over five months, and we love his teaching methods. He is very skilled and provides us (the humans) with individual instructions on how to improve our dog and our own reactions to him. We have been dedicated to getting Bento to be less reactive and he is doing much better. We have walked the mall three times; once with a group of his dogs and twice with just Jamie. Jamie has an excellent assistant instructor when he needs him to be available. We are now working on agility training, which our dog loves. We love Jamie and will continue to have him train our dog for as long as we can.

We were referred to Ty through the our local vet (Big Valley vet). We recently adopted a new pooch…read more(buddy) from the humane society. Buddy was showing aggressive behavior to one of our other dogs and had other signs of anxiety and nervous behavior. After explaining to Ty on the phone what our issues were he expressed that he has a lot of experience in dealing with these types of issues. He was available the next day and we had him come to our house for a session. Ty was very impressive and listened throughly to all of our concerns. He modified his session to be specific to what our most pressing problems were. He gave us several activities and strategies to deal with the behavior issues.
