They give you a report card at pick up. I used to feel rushed talking to the girls with prison officers watching but now that my oldest is almost 14 and lots of medications and supplements. We looked at a few doggy lodges and felt that Bayside was a nice place and the staff were playful with our dogs. Not only that, they were very clean and the facility did not smell (very important!). Also, their prices are fair compared to other places that we've seen or tried. Since we found Bayside, our pups have been visiting every 2-3 weeks and they love it every time! Even during the COVID restrictions, Bayside was there for them. Our Rotties love to socialize and going to Bayside provides the environment we want for them. The staff is warm and welcoming and we can tell how much they enjoy having our giant spoiled Rotties there. We've used their grooming services and their groomers do a great job and provide a report afterwards on their condition and needs. Love that! After doggy vamp, our pups come home like dead weights. They barely make it to bed because they had oodles of fun at Bayside!

I've never boarded my dogs before and was very worried. I have one husky mix with separation anxiety and the other is dog aggresive to strange dogs. Dog sitters were not an option and I couldn't stick my dogs in a kennel. I don't exactly remember how I stumbled on Peninsula Pet Lodge, but I saw the suites and contacted them via email to see if they would take my "special needs dogs." They said the Gig Harbor location would be the best bet with the suites. When time got closer to book, Joie contacted me via email that Olalla would be the better location now that they have suites and are better prepared for dogs with needs. We toured the facility and booked it. Today while trying to see if they accepted checks before I picked up my boys I saw all the negative yelp reviews and got worried. (I did not see the "not recommended" positive reviews.) When I got there the woman at the desk was great, she went into detail about my boys stay including that they tested my aggresive dog in a small group and he did great. The one dog was actually upset to leave and pouted in the car. I couldn't have been more relieved to see my dogs geninuly happy. The only thing that I am taking off 1 star for is when I dropped my dogs off the woman asked a coworker to bring my dogs to the porch while they cleaned the suite, and when I went back with the one dog while she had the other, the woman bringing them back started screaming at my 2 year old that she couldn't come past a certain point. My 2 year old went into a panic for me and thw woman screamed more at her because she didn't know if the other (caged) dog was child friendly. Which wasn't relevant because my daughter didn't even care about the dog, only being next to me. My daughter is only 2, she was confused and scared why a stranger is telling her that she can't be with her mom. My daughter has been taught never to touch strange dogs, which I understand the lady doesn't know that, but she didn't hand it well and that made me lose it on her.

I walked in and the place smelled terrible. The facility is very worn and dirty. The single staff member, Melody, was the only good thing in the whole situation. Facility was grossly understaffed, and management was rude to her when she required information or corrections to accounting. Picked dogs up and our Boston Terrier had bloody diarrhea. They made no note of this and did not mention it. Took her to the vet and was diagnosed with a parasite. Emailed the owners and facility to advise and request reimbursement. Radio silence from them. DO NOT BOARD HERE!

You drive/walk up and can see the owner's beautiful dogs. My dogs smell so good when I pick them up which tells me they keep their runs clean. They always come home with these adorable bandanas, & happy as can be. This last stay being so close to Halloween, the dogs were sent home with their "trick or treat" bags of dog treats. I appreciate the staff's understanding of all dog breeds and their care for the dogs when they are in their care!!! Thank you for always taking such good care of my pups!

I have left my dog here many times, on the surface they have always appeared to be nice and taken care of my dog. This is an establishment that likes to know when you're going to drop off and when you're going to pick up, I completely understand that and respect it, so when I came to the kennel to pick my dog up at 3:30, because when asked I specifically said 3:30 because that's the soonest I could be there after work. There was no mention of another time. I arrived promptly at 3:30 only to find the kennel closed, so I knocked and knocked and knocked and shouted "hello is anybody there I'm here to pick up my dog" the place was dark and said closed. I was concerned and did not know what to do. The owners house is just up the hill, I decided to go and knock on the door. When she answered she said, in a very angry voice, "what are you doing here, how dare you come to my personal residence" I apologized and said I'm here to pick up my dog she said "we are closed" and I said "I told you I would be here at 3:30" she said "no you did not" I said "yes I did that's when I get off work" she said "we're closed, I told you to come at 4:10" and I said "I'm sorry you didn't, I wouldn't have come if you said any other time" she said "you better stop talking now just give me a minute I will meet you down at the kennel" so I walked down to the kennel and when she came walking up I apologized again and she said "don't talk to me, I am entitled to a break you shouldn't be here" I agreed and apologized again literally with tears in my eyes I tried to tell her again that no other time was told to me, she said "you better just stop talking right now". Before I left I said "listen I'm sorry, there was obviously some miscommunication and I'm sorry to interrupt you" she said "I don't think you are"!! I am here to tell you I am not a liar and I absolutely do not take advantage of people. She did not even want to try to work this out or accept the chance there was any miscommunication. She may have had a really bad day or a bad week but a person that talks to you like that I think she just might miss handle the animals as well. She lost a repeat customer and all recommendations. I went home and checked the time, I keep very good notes, It said drop off at 4:30 and pick up at 3:30!! There was no miscommunication on my part.

The owner, Chelsea and her staff are great and really love the dogs. She even helped me search for my dog when he got loose from a friends house. I recommend Good Karma to all my friends and family. My dog has also boarded with them and has done well.

In the 2 months we used this place, we probably used daycare/boarding 6-7 times. We told the staff upfront that due to past trauma, he's a bit scared and does not like to be picked up at all. They told me they understood and it was all good, every dog is different. It wasn't a problem. Because other than that, he's super friendly. Every time I picked him up after daycare or boarding, they'd tell me he did great, he's so friendly, he loves running around with certain dogs, etc etc. I trusted them, obviously. The next time we left him at daycare, we picked him up and were told that he snapped a staff member, later to find out, she didn't read his file and tried to pick him up. And then I was penalized for that and given a warning... even though I let them know up front that they cannot do that because he is scared... A week or so later, we drop him off again for daycare one more time, he comes home with an eye infection. Which cost us $80 for medication to fix. We haven't taken him back since. Yesterday I received a message from a former employee there, saying she knows first hand that they do not like my dog and deemed him aggressive and had him in a cage most of the day instead of socializing. My heart completely sunk. I was being told (other than that one day) that he was great and they loved him and he played all day long. If I knew they felt that way about my dog, I wouldn't have brought him there. They just lied to my face. Who does that? I definitely don't trust these people. Wouldn't go back. Beware.
