This doctor has no empathy for sick people. Getting sick or handicapped is already a nightmare you can't escape. One needs a doctor who understands what you've been through. As a patient I feel like he underestimates my intelligence just because I don't have a good command of English. He has this contorted face if he doesn't like how you answered his question just because you don't actually understand what the question is. He is probably not worried of his ratings because he has a lot of patients lined up for him by workers compensation insurance company. He might have good ratings in terms of his experience or intelligence on the subject (which I really don't know for sure) but if you are a patient from a workers compensation, I definitely wouldn't recommend him. Every time I walk out of his office/clinic I feel so low about myself. I've seen as many doctors in my lifetime but this is the only doctor that made me feel so unhappy every time I walk out of his office. This happened in 2015. Recorded in my diary. read more

I went to Dr. Mazza after waiting several weeks for an appointment. What I diagnosed as a painful ingrown toenail was dismissed by Dr. Mazza as poor-fitting shoes. I knew he was wrong and left there disappointed. Finally after suffering for months, a proactive manicurist noticed the nail being ingrown and removed the ingrown portion. Voila! Instantly, no further pain and tenderness. And this woman has never stepped inside a medical school! read more

A very professional doctor. I have been to see him over a variety of issues over the last several years and I have always left very happy, he has always taken good care of me. Very friendly and compassionate. He always gives me good instructions on how to better deal with my problems. I highly recommend him. read more

This is by far the worst doctor I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. He is rude, arrogant, and manipulates you into thinking everything is your fault. On my first visit, I showed him that I was suffering from a bad ingrown toenail, and he immediately started blaming my shoes for some ungodly reason. After all the gaslighting, his brilliant advice boiled down to use Neosporin, something I can get at Costco. On my second visit, obviously nothing improved. Ingrown toe nails don't magically go away because you want them too. I showed him that nothing improved and he immediately said it was my own fault, that my shoes weren't tied tightly enough. I knew this dude is full of it, but he finally offers a surgery which would fix my problems. Unfortunately, that would require me giving him money which he doesn't deserve. I'm shocked that after looking at the other reviews here on the website, he has also given others extremely awful yet similar experiences. Avoid Mazza like the plague, he is a total hack and doesn't deserve to be a Doctor. read more

I don't like giving negative reviews, but this experience has stuck in my head for several years. This doc is old school, abrupt, a grouch, snappy, and just plain incorrect in his diagnosis. He told me my problem was I was wearing shoes that were pressing on my toes, making the skin thicken. I needed to buy bigger shoes he said. So I wasted money buying shoes that didn't work for me and I have never worn. He was completely wrong. It turned out I was in the early stages of a common, but hard to treat, fungus which has now persisted for several years. Since I'm diabetic it would have been useful to correct this early on. Now I need to go to another podiatrist, and I'm asking for a referral to anyone other than Dr. Mazza. This gentleman needs to retire. read more

Have been suffereing from foot pain and ankle pain for years. The doctor Summed it up to wearing the wrong shoes and inserts. Told me that my insurance probably wont cover it and it would be about $600. I told him I also had ankle pain and he wrenched on my ankle and told me that he didnt think it was going to hurt that much. I felt like I was talking to a shoe and insert saleman. I was seeing Dr.Puccinelli for over a year and she kept say we need to do surgery and then she would say come back in 3 months. This went on for a long time. I started seeing Dr. Mazza and he did the surgery very soon after I went to him the first time. I give him a rating of 110%. 5 plus stars!!! Great doctor !!! read more

First of all he has no computer to access or website up, second he can't file your Disability EDD online either, he wants you to mail everything takes forever, also you can't pay your bill online either... He did a decent job on my surgery, growth removed 4th toe above neuroma nerve, some stitches tore between toe,he is OK at best and only wants to sell products doesn't give up detailed information when asked so..prolongs care with making as many office visits as possible.. little help when I did ask questions and also when I tried to give input on how the pain was affecting me he made me feel like I made it up.. "You should be fine by now" is his words... and like others are saying old office smells like the Brady Bunch in there 1970s..he does his major surgeries out of sharp chula. The administration office 'stinks'. Had a very disappointing experience on my paperwork forms for my SDI, I dropped my forms and took them forever to get signed, then they pass the bucket between them so not to take the blame. Also I missed the appointment and there was not a courtesy call so you get charged, when I complained I got a stupid answer, 'well, we not always called" what!... I got charged twice but the following appointment they did called! I would never go there. read more

The first opportunity I had to submit myself to his attentions was back in 2007, years before I discovered Yelp. Recently, though, through a strange convergence of circumstances, I had to replace the orthotics he made for me. A garage fire had happened in our home. In our office loft over the garage at home, a computer monitor gave up its ghost and caught flame. The dog and I were at the local park a block over and we noticed smoke. We followed the smoke to the roof...our roof! We ran back and called the fire department. Besides a lost monitor, we had to pull up the carpet in the loft and scrub down everything. It could have been a lot worse. My shoes, with the orthotics inside, sat next to the steps up to the loft. The only items to catch fire below the loft...my shoes! I contacted Dr. Mazza and explained my plight. He got me in the next week. Even though Dr. had the original casts he made of my feet the first time, he wanted me to have the molds done again, just in case there was any difference between the two. I committed the time (nearly an hour) and everything came out fantastic. He is available through most health plans, and has been amazing in that for each series of appointments, he only asked me for the standard copayment ($40) at the first appointment of each series. He saved me over $400 on the copayments alone! read more

Absolute joke. I walked into this old decorated doctors office with 2 problems. One broken toe nail and second plantar fasciitis which I knew I had from a previous visit to a different doctor. Dr Mazza walked into room to tell me my toenail being broken into pieces wasn't important and he would rather focus on the plantar fasciitis. Excuse me.. My toenail is important! You see its broken I can catch a fungus disease. Cut the story short he ended up walking me to the front desk asking to bring back my shoes to purchase $80 dll insoles.. Of Coarse he did! No shame. Please save yourself time and pick a different local Podiatrist. read more

It's been a few years, but something reminded me, so... I went here for (presumably) plantar fasciitis. The doctor did not even touch my feet. I had to request an x-ray, which he said showed nothing. He sent me to Scope Orthotics, which also did not know what they were doing. Insurance covered the doc, but not the orthotics. Big chunk of money down the drain. read more

Worst appointment I have ever been to. Was referred to this doctor for my bone spur that was diagnosed by my primary care by X-ray. Dr. Mazza told me to forget that I had a bone spur and that I have plantar fasciitis instead. He talked the whole time about why I should forget about my bone spur. Told me the insoles I purchased from the good feet store were a rip off. Which have been the only insoles that have helped me to be able to walk for the last 4 months while I waited for this appointment. The only solution he had was the insoles he sold or he could put me in a boot to force me to rest my foot. He didn't even find out from me that all I do is rest my foot. I work in an office for 8 hours a day. Sitting. Didn't look at my X-ray. Didn't send me for more tests to see what was actually going on with my heel. I suggested a cortisone shot and he gave me an explanation as to why he doesn't do those until later on. Finally he could see I was upset. I told him I felt like I'm not getting any help. He answered back very frustrated and upset with me. By the end of the appointment I was crying in frustration. He finally gave me a cortisone shot, told me it was gonna hurt a lot. When it didn't. He told me I was lucky. He then got up and left the room. Worst appointment ever. read more

I had surgery done on my left foot over 10 years ago and I wish I had not done so. The second toe was " straightened" per his suggestion, asked me if I wanted to do it since he was working on the first toe anyway so dumb me said sure. Ever since, I cannot bend that toe at all and have more pain than I had before. I am so very sorry I ever went to him. If you do go, please please get a second opinion!! My toes are in a permanent state of Spock's hand sign and hurts all the time. read more
