We had to cancel an appointment when my mother fell and was in a skilled nursing facility for a month. When she was released, she was overdue for foot care. Had to see Dr.Vallone to take care of an ingrown nail that had been bothering me. Had an initial appointment, and then came back for a full treatment. Wow!!! I found the greatest podiatrist. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly, wonderful staff. I was referred to Dr. Vallone by a friend that is a retired DPM in another county. I went and saw him yesterday and he was great. I had seen another podiatrist but he didn't give me anything on my current podiatry issues and said I was fine. I showed Dr. Vallone my feet and he knew right away what issues I had and has put me on the path to recovery. I really enjoyed his bedside manner as well as his knowledge. His front office Kay was a real pleasure and super nice. I recommend this office very much. read more

My mother was referred to Dr. Vallone by her primary. Let me you tell you, he is amazing. From the first contact with his receptionist, she was so nice and super courteous. She was able to fit my mother in same day! His nurse was so positive and had a gentle touch. She file my mother's nails and massage her feet. My mother said her feet felt like she was stepping on clouds! Dr. Vallone was very thorough in explaining care and her foot issues. Made some great recommendations, provided us with a handout for foot care and resolved her foot problems. The genuine care, empathy and knowledge Dr. Vallone demonstrated was superb! I've worked in the medical field and my mother has seen enough doctors in her 82 years of life for me to know a great doctor and Dr. Vallone exceeds that. I highly recommend. read more

Dr. Vallone is very knowledgeable and current. Explains everything thoroughly. Small office with personalized care (they actually know you). Both foot surgeries were excellent. So I came to Vallone office when I say the office is very personable and friendly and amazing Dr well rounded office to be a patient. Great experience from scheduling over the phone with Kay to the actual visit with Dr. Vallone and his staff. Everyone in his office is friendly, professional and thorough. A special thank you to Kay for scheduling me in quickly to deal with my plantar fasciitis issue, I'm truly grateful. Dr. Vallone injected a steroid in my left foot/heal to help with the stabbing pain, and the injection itself felt like a very slight bee sting and ever since, my foot has been feeling great! After suffering for over a year from a couple ingrown nails and getting less than stellar care from another podiatrist covered under my insurance, I sought out Dr Vallone. Best decision I could have made! Dr Vallone quickly identified why I was still in pain even after getting a procedure done by the previous PDM, and was able to rectify the problem quickly. As an added bonus, Dr Vallone's fix ended up quite a bit less painful than the last guy's and healed quicker to boot. Their staff is great, and somehow the pricing was even more affordable than what I was paying within my own insurance network. SoI'm a Diabetic so, it's important that I take care of my feet. I was getting pedicures at the nail shop until the technician clipped my toe. I haven't been back since. That was about four months ago so, my toe nails were awful. I asked my primary Dr. to refer me to a podiatrist to cut my toenails. Tada enters the handsome Dr Vallone and this fantastic staff. Kay and Fernando. Dr. Vallone engaged me in good conversation while clipping my toe nails Kay and Fernando helped me along the way. I don't get around very well after having a Stroke in 2015 and was just told I have chronic Glaucoma so I wasn't seeing very well that day. When my appointment was over, Kay took me by the arm(not hand) and guided me outside to wait on my Lyft ride and made sure I got in the car safely. I said all this to say, I appreciate good caring Drs and there staff so, if you ever need a Foot and Ankle Dr. go see Dr Vallone and let him and his wonderful staff take care of you. I wasted my time and money (out of pocket) with Dr. Vallone. Other reviewers talk about what a good listener he is. I had a terrible experience with him. I think the most I got out was three sentences before he'd cut me off -- more often would cut me off before that! And then he would say something dismissive, insulting, or make a "joke" (tried to be funny), rather than addressing my issues. (By the way, I am a friendly, concise, focused speaker so I was not giving too many details or going off on tangents.) I left his office feeling very frustrated. Today I saw a WONDERFUL podiatrist and what a difference. She really listened, was kind, efficient, and helpful. Don't go to Dr. Vallone. read more

Robert Vallone, DPM - Left side before surgery. Right side 10 weeks post op. Big bump gone! - Podiatrists Near Me - San Diego, California

I had my first experience with the foot and ankle specialist San Diego and Dr. Vallone. It was such an excellent and informative appointment. Dr. Vallone knew exactly what the problem was and how to correct it in the best manner. He addressed all my concerns and worries in a very compassionate manner. I left the office feeling so much better, both physically and also emotionally. Finest medical experiences I have ever received. read more

I am shocked by the good reviews for this doctor. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Don't walk, run away from this doctor. Due to Dr. Vallone's negligence and substandard care I have permanent damage to my toe tendon which may cause issues and pain later on. I just finished my third corrective foot surgery because of Dr. Vallone's mistakes. One year ago, I had a bunionectomy done by Dr. Vallone, which has turned into a nightmare. A week after my first procedure the surgical screw that was placed in my foot by Dr. Vallone came loose. This was extremely painful, I was unable to put any weight on my foot. At my follow-up appointment Dr. Vallone stated that this had happened to a previous patient and scheduled me for another surgery to fix it the following week. During this procedure, Dr. Vallone removed the screw and replaced it with 2 pins instead. Unfortunately, this corrective procedure did not work. My big toe was completely immobile and pointed down and inward. After 2 months of pain (and many x-rays and consults with Dr. Vallone), I sought a second opinion from another podiatrist. My new doctor was shocked by what Dr. Vallone had done. He said that he had never seen anything like it before. He explained that Dr. Vallone had replaced the screw with 2 very large pins, which were placed ¾ inch outside of the bone and poked through the bottom of my foot. No wonder I was in pain. My new doctor scheduled a corrective surgery that same week to remove both pins Dr. Vallone put in my toe. I've been in physical therapy for months to improve my ability to walk. I had my 4th surgery this week to continue fixing his mistakes. I believe Dr. Vallone is a kind man but his negligence caused me permenant damage, months of pain and 3 corrective surgeries which at my age, 67, are not a joke. I would not recommend seeing this provider. read more

I had an appointment to have orthotics made by Dr Vallone as I have been wearing the same pair since 1993. I found Dr Vallone to be patient, kind, and knowledgeable. I only wish I'd come in to his office sooner. read more

Robert Vallone, DPM - One of the rooms in Dr.Vallones office - Podiatrists Near Me - San Diego, California

I am relatively new to the San Diego area and have been struggling with a bad foot for several years - combination of bunions and stress fractures. I am a nurse and it had gotten so bad that I couldn't even wear my clogs anymore, much less run, hike or do anything on foot. I finally started looking for a podiatrist to discuss treatment options. I found Dr. Vallone on Yelp and it's true, I looked no more!!! I loved the small office, Kay is very sweet and made me feel comfortable about my appointment. Dr. Vallone told me that surgery was my best option and walked me through the whole process, including pictures to show exactly what was wrong and what would be fixed. My pre-op was smooth with labs, x-rays and fitting for my boot. I felt very relaxed and comfortable with Dr. Vallone's honest approach, easy going manner, and confidence that he fix me. He told me that he would have me back to running by the fall. Surgery day arrived and Scripps Mercy was the greatest experience. Everyone was so nice and reassuring. My anesthesiologist rocked her pearls and I could see that Dr. Vallone's team liked working with him and they seemed to have fun with their jobs. Surgery was smooth, recovery was easy and then I was home. I am tough when it comes to staying down and had some pain the first day. Called Dr. Vallone and he answered right away, gave me some simple advice and I was good to go. While six weeks seems to go slowly and I definitely have to listen to Dr. Vallone's wise counsel or I push too hard BUT I can see my new foot slowly emerging and I am so thrilled. Definitely see Dr. Vallone if you have any foot or ankle problems. Finally, he spent time talking with my teenage daughter during one of my post op appointments which she appreciated. She is thinking about medical school and enjoyed hearing him talk to her about being a surgeon. read more

Thanks to Dr. Vallone, I am still running after he did surgeries on both my feet last year. My favorite sport is running. I had a severe cases of bunions and hammer toes on both of my feet for the last 10 years. I previously refused to have surgeries for fear of losing my ability to run. But Dr. Vallone assured me there should be no problem and he was right. Now I am running even better than before, because my knees are not hurting any more due to the problems with my feet. My feet now look great too. I felt almost no pain after the surgeries, and only took a few pain pills after the 2nd day just for a few days. By the way, I am 79 years old. Dr Vallone aka Dr No-Pain, and staff Kay and Debbie, are the most patient and kind individuals I've ever met. For the first time alone at 67 I was anxiety ridden to undergo a surgical procedure without a significant other to have my back. I talked endlessly and asked too many questions for sure. But the warm, reassuring and thorough pre op visits as well as a workout pal's experience and recommendation calmed me down. After only 2 months, I'm pleased with results so far of the bunionectomy, hammertoe correction on 2 digits, and metatarsal phalangeal bone removal on my right foot. I never had any pain, just swelling and general discomfort to the amazement of my friends and myself. The Dr provides very detailed written surgery details, post op instructions, explanations and ease of communication directly with Dr Vallone. On several occasions I texted photos of my foot to illustrate any concerns & received prompt replies. My recovery is longer than expected because I DIDN'T TOTALLY FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS DUE TO MY SITUATION AND STUBBORNESS. I'm able now, to do everything I NEED to do except run 3 miles and resume classes at the gym. Plus, Dr Vallone is very easy on the eye. I recommend unconditionally Dr Vallone to be your foot surgeon. read more

I found Dr. Vallone because of his reviews. All very positive and especially related to bunion surgery, which I needed. So I finally got my surgery done 4 weeks ago and I am amazed. Dr Vallone has been great explaining the procedure and what I needed to do to have a successful outcome. My surgery went awesome, RB surgery center was awesome! There was just no pain. I made sure I followed all his instructions post op. To the tee! I'm at 4 weeks and got the go ahead today to be in my normal shoe for a few hours a day. Dr. Vallone is very confident and has a super calming bed side manner. If you've been told all your life to never let anyone fix your bunion ( what I've heard for 30 years) I'm here to tell you it was the best decision I've made and that is because I chose a Super Talented doctor!
