Dr. Baar is awsome. If not for his adjustment and referral I will still be in pain. Extremely professional. He has a customer for life.

The guy massaged my body over sheet first then eventually had hands on. He did my neck all the way down to my legs. I don't think he managed my head, temples, or feet. When I flipped over, I'm used to a towel being placed over my eyes. This place is only open during the day time and they didn't have black out curtains, so it was a little brighter than usual in the room. Calming music playing but it was very low. The acupuncture- I wasn't quite sure what I could inquire about. Was hoping for a list but he just asked what my main concerns were and then told me to lay down on the table. Luckily I wore a dress and sandals. So I didn't have to remove anything except the sandals as the places he placed the needles were already exposed. I was too scared to look at the needles. Kept my eyes closed the entire time. Just felt a slight pinch when he placed the needles. They felt very small/thin. The only place I really felt any discomfort pain was my left foot/shin. I told him that at the end and he said I may feel sore for a day but the pain disappeared within hours. I felt so calm relaxed with the acupuncture. Definitely want to come back for that. Maybe not the massage tho.

Today I was feeling lazy and didn't want to drive all the way to Convoy for my usual massage place and so I thought why not give them a chance. It's a Sunday and I went as a walk-in. A little lady greeted me and I just pointed to their list - deep tissue 90min for $110. Had my massage and it was one of the best ones I've had! I'm vey happy with the service, cleanliness and overall experience. Susan is the one who take care of me. I surely will be coming back to see her again.

The room was really hot and the masseuse had to stop a few times to wipe his sweat, which wasn't his fault since he was putting in the work for my requested firmness, but def need a fan or something in the room to keep the air flowing and to keep their therapists from overheating. Scalp massage was nice, 60 minute full body with hot stone with 30 minute foot. Def left super greasy that even after the hot towel I found myself wiping off a lot more with the sheets. Was a bit hesitant to try this place because of the other bad reviews and sad to say I also can't recommend this place. There's 3 Massage Edens in the area and this was the only one with a male masseuse that day. Since I live in the area, I thought I'd give them a shot and disappointed by the overall experience. May just have to go to my usual spots on Convoy, but would be nice to have a spot closer to home.

She was kind, attentive, communicative and just overall excellent at ensuring you are comfortable. The location is quaint and the rooms are decent. But here is the reason for the 3 star: I purchased my massage through ClassPass. I opted for the First lady treatment which consisted of a deep tissue massage, salt scrub and free hot stones. When I first got there, I informed the receptionist that I had an appointment through ClassPass. Without asking, she grabbed my phone, took a picture of my screen then proceeded to call someone on her phone. I believe this may have been because of a language barrier. The gentleman on the phone confirmed I was there for the First Lady package and told me I'm all set. I then followed her to the room where she simply pointed to and walked away. That was fine. Lucy, then came in and created magic with her hands. The deep tissue massage was magnificent. The salt scrub was so glorious, I even got chills. Once she was done cleaning up the salt scrub, she said we were done. I politely reminded her that my appt came with the hot stones. She stepped outside, came back in and showed me her phone. It read: "colleague forgot to turn on the hot stones. Sorry" . Then, she said proceeded with offering me a hot towel instead. I declined the towel. As I was walking out, I was disappointed but I was still leaning toward the four star review because Lucy really did a good job despite missing the hot stones. However, when I approached the front desk, it was a different receptionist . A young lady with perfect English. She asked if I wanted to leave a tip. As I was getting my card ready to leave a well-deserved tip, I casually mentioned that my package came with the hot stones but that portion of the service was not provided. Her response was "I see..." She then charged my card for the tip and completely disregarded what I said. While my body feels relaxed, I left highly disappointed by how situation was handled. Mistakes happen, but acknowledging them and making an effort to address them, goes a long way.

I had just experienced another flareup and was feeling desperate. They were able to get me in to see Dr. Shane quickly, and when I tell you that I felt like I was with a miracle worker. We went through several motions during the intro session, and he was able to diagnosis my issue (piriformis syndrome and tight hips). He performed cupping and massage, and he was able to loosen up my stubborn hips. He then had me perform some PT exercises, and I IMMEDIATELY felt relief. I honestly couldn't believe it. I thought the relief would go away after a few hours, but it stayed for a few days. I've worked him for about 6 sessions now, and I've felt drastic improvements. He tailors the training session to my problem areas, and he doesn't increase my load too quickly, to make sure I don't reinjure myself (which had been happening before). It's a bit pricy, but it's honestly been a lifesaver for me. Would recommend to anyone!

On 9/9/2024 I was injured during a massage at Sports Performance Physical Therapy in Chula Vista…read more The LMT had her elbow in the intercostal space of my left anterior chest when I suddenly felt an incredible amount of sharp, stabbing pain. I cried out and requested that she remove her elbow from my chest. The pain in my left chest was excruciating. I was unable to use my left arm without experiencing an enormous amount of pain. Even breathing was painful. Coughing and sneezing were unbearable. When I woke up the next morning, the pain was severe. Based on my symptoms, I was afraid I had a rib fracture. I contacted Cristianah Comaduran, Operations Manager of Sports Performance to notify her of the injury. She spoke with the LMT, who verified what happened. We stayed in contact over the next several weeks. I informed her that I would be filing a claim with their liability insurance and would contact her once I was completely asymptomatic. For the next two weeks, the pain was severe. I was unable to work, do household chores, and help my 4 year son with the things he needed, like getting dressed, bathing, basic ADLs. I filed a short term disability claim through my employer (I'm an ICU nurse). The stipulation for payment is that the first two weeks are unpaid, and then 60% of earnings are paid. This was a great financial burden for my family. The consequences of this injury were costly with low income for the months of October and November. My pain continued to improve until I caught an upper respiratory infection (URI) that caused continuous coughing. The pain was back and it was severe. Each cough and sneeze was excruciating. Once the URI resolved, my pain improved. For two months, the pain and suffering was debilitating, not allowing me to work, exercise, take care of the household, and most importantly, my son. It caused sleepless nights because the pain medication I was prescribed did little to relieve my symptoms, which lead to chronic exhaustion. The findings of my MRI on 11/14/24, which was two months after the injury, showed asymmetric edema at the level of the left third sternocostal joint. Two months after the injury, I still had abnormal results which were consistent with my symptoms. My thoracic spine MRI from 2022 showed none of these injuries. My PCP's impression was that there was a sprain of costal cartilage subsequent encounter. He determined it was costal-sternal joint strain vs developing costochrondritis. Along with pain and suffering, I experienced anxiety and distress due to financial strain. The injury resulted in thousands of dollars of missed wages. In addition, I was unable to accrue paid time off and contribute to my pension and retirement fund. This set me back two months from being vested at work. When I returned to work, I had very little sick or vacation time due to the inability to accrue paid time off (PTO). In January of 2025, I called out sick for 3 shifts (36 hours) when I was sick with the flu. I did not have enough sick time to cover the hours missed. I also received a double occurrence for my absence, which was not cleared from my record until January of 2026. It was worrisome that despite returning to work, the effects of this injury continued to be a financial burden and was affecting my performance review at work. This incident has also resulted in out of pocket costs, such as co-pays and pharmaceuticals, not to mention I was never reimbursed for the massage that started it all!! Perhaps worse than everything, I had to borrow money from my parents, so there's an element of shame in addition to the pain, suffering, and distress. This injury has been costly in terms of lost wages/PTO accrual and out of pocket expenses, not to mention inability to contribute to retirement and inch closer to being vested at my place of employment. I submitted an incredible amount of documents to Sports Performance in attempt to file a claim against their liability insurance. They were extremely difficult to work with and despite my repeated efforts to present all documents they requested, my claim was denied. Total cost for lost wages and out of pocket costs: $20,224.09. Because of this massage, I experienced pain, suffering, chronic exhaustion due to insomnia, anxiety, distress, and shame...and I didn't even get a fucking apology.
