I had been under the care of several urologists in the Denison to Dallas areas over those years including one well known Uro-Gynecologist in the Plano, TX. . As soon and I finished a round of antibiotics I would have another UTI start sometimes within a week even though I was on a nightly dose of suppressive antibiotic therapy. Absolutely no one had been able to help me... EXCEPT for Dr Tart here in Sugar Land, TX. She was an absolute Godsend to me! It has taken a little time but I finally am having LASTING relief from those nerve wracking and uncomfortable UTI's which were wearing me down. My work insured urologists were no help even when I was in extreme pain. Offered no pain relief or imaging. Dr. Christi point blank asked me today "what can I do to help you?" It was a breath of fresh air to have a doctor listen and for me to feel HEARD. She ordered imaging so we can find some answers. She also used PCR urine tests which are more advanced than traditional cultures. I told her I recently went to Mexico to get the uromune vaccine and she mentioned she used to get that for her patients all the time (all the way from Europe), until the FDA stopped allowing it I assume. She was very intrigued and asked me how I got it, so she clearly cares about ALL of her patients. She knows her stuff and is very friendly and a good listener. Great bedside manners.

Besides, the prospect of slicing and dicing in the nether regions was enough to shrivel up any enthusiasm for the task. Then, a friend recommended Dr. Mobley. Skeptical, I asked, "Why Mobley?" He informed me that not only had Dr. Mobley performed his vasectomy, but, in 1991, Mobley had performed a vasectomy on AM radio talk show host, Dan Patrick, while Dan was on the air broadcasting his morning sports show. That convinced me. I thought anyone who had the balls (pun intended) to perform a vasectomy when thousands were listening via a live broadcast was the right man for the job. I called him up and was informed that my wife and I needed to come in together for an interview first to ensure I had her consent (no problems there!). We had a nice chat. Shortly after, I took a Friday off to have the deed done. I left my wife in the reception area and went back with the doctor. Fifteen minutes later when I walked out and told my wife, "Let's go," she responded with, "What's wrong?" not realizing the procedure was that quick. Bottom line: no pain, no discomfort, no swelling, no stitches! I was back playing ball in the gym the following Monday. Dr. Mobley uses a "no-scalpel" technique that earned two thumbs up and five stars from me. A few months later, it was confirmed that I was indeed shooting blanks. A urologist who specializes in this procedure, Dr. Mobley is definitely an "artiste". As such, he also specializes in vasectomy reversal, ED, incontinence, etc. In the future, if a problem rises up (or doesn't rise up, as it were) in this area for me, I know whom I can trust with the family jewels. Footnote: Due to the notoriety of the Dan Patrick on-air vasectomy, Dan asked Dr. Mobley if he'd host a medical segment on the radio. It survives to this day. You can hear Dr. Mobley on his call-in show called "Health Talk Houston" broadcast daily from noon to 1 PM on KSEV AM 700.

He gets a call a week before asking him to bring his medical records. He has a whole stack and so he asked what exactly they need. They won't say so he says he'll walk in so they can look. Monday comes and he walks in and front desk girl said a nurse has to look at it and that he needs to wait 20 mins. 45 mins passed and no one called him back. So, he goes to the front desk, no one was there, and a sign says "lunch break". Not only is this an a-hole move but also extremely UNPROFESSIONAL. So, hubby tried calling and finally another girl comes over. So he has to retell everything he just told the other clueless employee. This is girl then tells him that they're not even going to see him because he should go back to his surgeon (out of state) despite the fact that they had already scheduled him and requested for his medical records. And he's not feeling well and needed to be seen asap. She proceeded to cancel his Wednesday appointment anyway and pretty much just told him good luck. This is how far this "health care" has fallen in this country. These ZERO concern for health or care.

He examined me and recommended that I should get a 'pelvic MRI' to due to the possibility of prostate cancer. His assistant Cynthia told me that they would forward the referral to the MRI clinic for me. I was pleased with the experience when I left the clinic. I made the appointment with the MRI clinic that Cynthia told me to. Two days before the MRI appointment, I was contacted by the MRI clinic and told that my insurance company "denied the referral" from Dr. Shiffman's office. The MRI clinic directed me back to Dr. Shiffman's office to 're-write' or otherwise reattempt the referral process. I contacted Cynthia and informed her of this news. She told me that she would submit another referral to the MRI clinic and insurance company. I waited a week and did not hear back before I reached back out to Houston Metro Urology. The receptionist listened to me and assured me that she would see that Cynthia took care of it. I waited another week before I called back again. The receptionist was surprised that Cynthia had not called me back or resolved the referral matter yet for me and assured me once again that this would be a priority that Cynthia would take care of this week. I then waited three weeks before I called Houston Metro Urology once again. The receptionist was able to verify all of my previous calls and acknowledged that the matter was referred back to Cynthia as a priority three times. She assured me that I would get a call and that the matter would be resolved within 24 hours. Once again 48 hours later and still nothing from Dr. Shiffman's assistant Cynthia. I am still uncertain if I have prostate cancer or not and just wasted over a month of possible early detection. Today I decide to just start over with another Urologist and clinic. Thank you HMU for taking my co-pay and then doing nothing to improve or diagnose my condition. Good-bye.
