In my appointments, she regularly teaches her team and clearly nerds out about it. You want a professional who cares about their craft. I've had dentists who pushed night guards, and other add on services. Now I'm sure each had positive therapeutic benefits. But I also know many of these things are 80%+ profit margins. Dr. Spencer proactively tailored her dentistry to save money and even removed a service that was on my invoice that didn't need to be there. Bottom line, she's a one of one and the best dentist I've ever had. I strongly recommend her to others.

I arrived at 4:30, filled out a quick form and was taken back into an exam room. The staff member who took me back was lovely, and got myself and my mother water. I was then told that Dr Zurek had to do a "quick exam" on another patient. Dr Zurek didn't get to me until 5:10pm; he left me sitting for 25 minutes. When he came into the room, he was bombastic and spoke loudly about how he had been having a busy day. I was there to talk about dentures/dental implants. He started by asking me why my teeth were so bad; when I told him that there were issues in both my mother and father's sides of the family with teeth, my explanation wasn't good enough. He began the discussion of my options by asking if the reason my teeth were bad was because I was "lazy or had bad dental hygiene", saying he needed to know in order to best assess what type of dental prosthetic would work for me. During the discussion, I broke into tears at least three times. I really felt that I was being talked down to and judged. Dr Zurek spent a great deal of time touting his expertise and abilities. He suggested a solution that would cost $65,000, although I had mentioned that cost was a concern. I felt zero compassion from him. At one point, I was crying with my head down in the exam chair while he talked with my mother about my options, and I just couldn't take any more of it. When he finally asked me what I thought, I told him that I thought that I needed to leave, took off my dental "bib", got up and grabbed my purse; I walked right out. As I was leaving, he called after me that it was "very important that I be involved in the discussion", but I refused and left the office, going outside and sitting on the practices stairs until my mother followed a few minutes later and we both left. I feel traumatized by this experience, and cannot believe I was spoken to like a naughty child. I am 49 years old and do not need that from someone I am going to for help, with the intention of paying him a large amount of money for his services. I wish there was a rating of "0 stars" because my experience with the doctor was TERRIBLE.

We also referred several other families in the community from the past few years. But the incident that took place today left us dumbfounded and so disgusted with the managers attitude that we will never be returning to this practice. I got a call from manager who has apparently been working for 9 years at this location asking to confirm an appointment. It was not my appointment and I had to ask her to check if its regarding my wife's instead. She said yes, the appointment is for my wife. As we have family visiting, I wanted to reschedule on behalf of my wife and I was told there would be a fee. I told the manager that we have been loyal patients of this practice and waiving the fee would be appreciated. The manager rudely told me that there will be fees. I told her that I understand there is change in management and the new management might be imposing these fees and wanted her to see if she can do something about it. The manager even more rudely said that she has been working there for 9 years and said we signed some document not sure how many years ago saying we will pay the rescheduling fee as its not within 48 hours. She went on about more things in patronizing and condescending tone. At that point I realized that I was talking to someone that doesn't have any basic customer or patient management skills and told her we will be terminating this relationship. At that point I was told I am not the patient so I cannot reschedule/cancel the appointment and my wife is supposed to call them back. I was flabbergasted at couple of things: 1. Why she was talking to me for 5 minutes and arguing with a condescending tone about my wife's appointment, if I do not have the authority to cancel or change my wife's appointment 2. How a highly rated practice has had an employee of this caliber survive 9 years and become a manager ! Someone who is reading this review with more HIPAA knowledge might want to check if this is a violation as my wife never consented for me to be making/confirming/cancelling her appointments to begin with. Just wanted to reiterate that the doctors and dental hygienists are top quality at this location even after management change. But the manager is the reason why we will never be returning to this practice. A high quality practice needs high quality employees and the level was service today was abysmal and deplorable. The new owners are more than welcome to reach me directly to discuss further. I am sure the manager knows exactly who I am after what happened today.
