Our home was on the larger side with acreage therefore yielded a smaller percentage of the buyer pool and required someone who had a good understanding of our neighborhood. We were immediately impressed with Steve Valkenaar with the Valkenaar Group as he showed strong knowledge of our local area and town of Cave Creek in general as well as an understanding of the profile of buyers who would be interested in our home. He laid out a marketing strategy that made sense above and beyond an MSL listing. I would summarize Steve's skills as being a strong communicator, proactive, efficient, very intelligent, and reasonable. Although all realtors we spoke with indicated 3-5 months to sell our home Steve had an offer for us in less than 30 days and guided us through a somewhat stressful process (as lenders responded to COVID 19 concerns) with a calm and professional demeanor. We would recommend Steve Valkenaar without reservation to anyone looking for a great real estate experience. Maggie & Pete Bobrowitz

Where do we begin when it's been 10+ wonderful years with our realtor, Dan Gonen? From the moment…read moreDan helped our family find a home when we moved from Colorado to Arizona with our three elementary-school-aged children in 2015, to recommending co-workers and friends to contact Dan when they needed help selling/buying their homes over the years, and now to purchasing a second home (in Tempe) as our oldest attends ASU, Dan Gonen has literally saved us tens of thousands of dollars over the years! Dan Gonen is also well-connected in the community! After closing on our Tempe home in May 2025, we had lunch at Grassroots in Scottsdale near the title company's office (great food btw!). A handful of people came up to say hello to Dan during that hour timeframe - they were all so happy to see Dan. And his connections continue in the trade professions, as well! So when you're purchasing or selling a home and you need to do some remodeling, he can share contacts of experts in the cleaning, flooring, painting, cabinet refacing, tiling, and all things residential fixing. Most importantly, Dan genuinely cares about ensuring you're getting the best deal AND that you're happy when it comes to closing time. His negotiation and communication skills are second to none and he's not afraid to think outside of the box!

As a Canadian purchasing a second home in the U.S., we were a little apprehensive about the whole procedure dealing with a foreign country. As luck would have it, we met Terry S Smith and Mark Ellingson at a open house one weekend and a strong bond was forged. Together they create a team that looks after every aspect of obtaining and closing on a property in the Scottsdale area. Because of the handicap of distance, Terry sent us possible leads on homes and took "You Tube" videos of the homes we were interested in and kept us in the loop with weekly reports on any current market changes. Marks expertise was shown when dealing with other Realtors, title companies and financial organizations. We felt that there was no better representation when it came to negotiations. They are both very grounded and honest and when all the dust settled there was no doubt in our minds that we made the best choice in Rain Dance Realty. If your looking for bling, blowing smoke, and a fancy ride, you should look elsewhere, but if you are serious about purchasing property in the Phoenix /Scottsdale area with true representation and no games, these are your guys.
