My 88-year-old mother was a patient of Dr. Lester's. On her last visit, she had her teeth cleaned and told Dr. Lester she was experiencing mild pain in a tooth and that something was wrong. He took X-rays, said there was nothing wrong, that the tooth was just "agitated," charged her, and sent her on her way. Her pain got significantly worse. She developed a golf ball-sized abscess that you can see on the side of her face from that tooth. Now the tooth needs to be pulled. If it had been taken care of during this visit, she would not be experiencing this discomfort now and might not have lost the tooth. What could have been a straightforward procedure has become a much more serious situation -- all because the beginning of an abscess was missed. Putting an 88-year-old woman through that level of pain and risk due to a misdiagnosis is unacceptable. His staff is very kind, but that doesn't make up for this kind of negligence. This was the final -- and biggest -- red flag in a series of concerns I had with this dentist. We have since moved on to another dentist who is compassionate, thorough, and competent. I wish we had made that move sooner. read more

Dr Lester re-worked a botched crown that was originally done by my old Dr's office. The experience I had with Dr Lester regarding this issue was top notch. The procedure was done very quickly with absolutely no pain. It's been about a year since the procedure with no problems. I am so grateful for Dr Lester and all the friendly staff in that office. I had my routine teeth cleaning today with Dr. Lester. He is a WONDERFUL Dentist with a lot of experience. Julie at the front desk/office is so friendly, and an expert with insurance, etc. And I can't forget to mention Allison, who is also sweet & caring. I am usually the type of person who is scared and anxious to go to the Dentist, but, (I NEVER thought I would say this), I REALLY look forward to going to their office & seeing Dr. Lester. I (and my now grown kids) been seeing Dr. Lester for about 11 years after moving to Anaheim. Lora has been cleaning our teeth the entire time, and Julie works the front office. I love that they send us postcards to remind us to come in. They now send my reminder separately from the kids reminders since they are now grown and manage their own schedule. One thing that seems to be a huge difference with other dental practices is that I NEVER have felt that I was 'sold' any services that I didn't actually need. I have clients who are dentists and I know that they work on commission. Typically we have only needed standard cleanings/xrays , but I have needed to have fillings replaced or crowns done....but it was obvious that I needed that work. I had fallen and lost a total of 5 teeth. I was scared to death! I'm a fairly new patient and didn't really know Dr Lester very well at all and to put trust in him with 5 front teeth was so scary! Well now 3 of my teeth are completed with new crowns and yesterday he did my 2 front teeth and have temporary ones in until October 16. Both visits he gave me shots of nonvaccine and I'm not going to say you didn't feel the shots but he did it so gentle and just put in a little until it numbed a little then did the rest. It was a piece of cake! He was not sure if I would need 2 root canals but suggested we wait and if it is needed then we can do it then. He doesn't just jump in and rack up a very expensive bill but only does what is necessary at the time. I cannot tell you how painless it was at the time of work being done but even when I got home.
