The waitress served it and said it was her mistake and that he could have the whole sandwich but pay for half. Then a few minutes later, the waitress came back and said she spoke to the manager who said he would have to give her back a half of the sandwich! So he handed her a half of the sandwich! Super petty of the manager and embarrassing for the waitress. They can't resell it and most likely had to throw it away so what was the point? A little empathy and professionalism would have made a frustrating situation much easier to understand.
