This review is a little long, but I hope you'll take the time to read it…read more Last May, I welcomed my first child. Since it was my first time being a father, I didn't really know the proper way to hold a baby, and over time I ended up straining my left wrist. For a while, it was quite painful. It wasn't a sharp or severe pain, but more of a constant dull ache. My wrist would also make clicking or popping sounds whenever I rotated it. I asked several friends who have children, and they all told me that it was probably caused by the way I was holding my baby. They also told me that this type of injury could be difficult to reverse and that I might eventually need a steroid injection. Since I heard pretty much the same thing from several different people, I started to believe that I would just have to live with it. I was even more skeptical because I already had a similar problem with my right wrist. I injured it years ago while playing basketball, and even today, I still occasionally experience a dull ache. I've seen many doctors about it over the years, and I was always told that there wasn't really a way to completely fix it. Because of that experience, I had basically accepted that I would probably need to wear a wrist brace and simply try to prevent my left wrist from getting worse. One day, I mentioned the problem to my wife. She suggested that I try shockwave therapy and EMTT, and she made an appointment for me with Daphne. I went into the treatment somewhat skeptical. After all, I had been dealing with my right wrist problem for years, so I wasn't expecting too much. Daphne turned out to be a wonderful therapist. Before starting, she took the time to explain how the treatment worked and the principles behind it. I won't go into all the technical details here, but after her explanation, I decided to give it a try. The treatment lasted about a month. To be honest, immediately after that month of treatment, I didn't notice a dramatic difference. There was some improvement, but it definitely didn't feel like the problem had been completely resolved. At the time, I was a little disappointed, and I brought up my concerns with Daphne. She was very patient and explained that the results wouldn't necessarily be immediate. She told me that it could take around six weeks after completing the treatment before I would really start noticing a significant change. And she was right. Over the following month and a half, the pain in my wrist gradually disappeared. Today, I still carry my son every single day. He now weighs about 26 pounds, and after adjusting the way I hold him, my wrist no longer hurts. The pain has not returned either. I've been pretty busy lately, so I'm planning to wait until things settle down a little before going back to have my right wrist treated as well. Thank you, Daphne, for your patience, professionalism, and help. I was skeptical when I started, but I'm genuinely grateful that I gave the treatment a chance.

Dr. Daphne took the time to evaluate my overall health and then worked with me through different exercises and treatments. I've already noticed a real improvement in how I feel overall. The entire staff is also very kind, welcoming, and professional. I really appreciate the care and attention they've given me throughout the process. Highly recommend HealthFit Physical Therapy!

He uses the anterior approach where he doesn't have to cut through muscles and recovery is much faster. The incision is also minimal. He cares about his patients and does what he feels is best for them. Some of the reviews left here are based on the office staff; which I find ridiculous. He's excellent and I would not hesitate to refer him to any friends and family. As far as the office staff, I have always found them to be very friendly and helpful. I've never had a problem. Yes, sometimes when you call they're busy and you're placed on hold (which is true in almost any doctor's office), but if you leave your name and number they will return your call.

Forget about the office staff; forget about personality (although his is great) -- focus on the depth of the doc's experience with your particular issue. This review is sooooo overdue but here it is finally! It's also insanely long so the TLDR version…read moreis this: if you've been dealing with regular pain for a long time, and are ready to put in the work to finally get to the bottom of what's going on, put your trust in LPI! I've worked with both Ben and Bryant since 2021 back when they were still running their clinic out of a little room at Reason fitness; and I went from waking up every day with some amount of neck/shoulder pain to feeling the strongest I've ever been in my life and 90-95% of my days with no pain. I wouldn't be where I am today without LPI and their help and guidance so I really can't thank them enough Working with Ben: So what eventually brought me to LPI in 2021 was that I'd been having increasing bad bouts of pain where I would get like a crick in the neck so bad it locked up my entire upper back and I'd only have about 25-50% range of motion of my neck in any direction without pain. I suspect many of my symptoms were built up overtime due to a bad ergonomic work setup and stress. From day 1, Ben was super attentive and eager to help. Most of what he talked about was new to me but he always took the time to explain things and answer any question I had. During my time with Ben, I gained so much understanding about how connected every part of your body is with each other, and how much modern life has made our body adapt in ways that aren't the best for longevity(!!) We worked a lot on how to create a stable trunk through proper breathing mechanics in the beginning and then later strengthening the muscles in my shoulder area to better support and stabilize the shoulder; and so much more! What I can tell you now is that I'm not waking up every day in pain, I don't have pain going down my arm anymore, my neck and jaw are so much less tight, and even if I do have days when that crick comes back, it's much less severe and resolves a lot quicker than before. One thing with chronic pain I didn't realize before was how much you lose hope that it will ever get better. So it kind of surprised me that having someone who cares so deeply about getting you better would help, but Ben's hope gave me hope, and in time the results spoke for itself. The body isn't as weak or fragile as you might think, it's actually super resilient and adaptable. There's a solution to pain that doesn't involve bandaging the pain but rather retraining your body to do what it was meant to do so you can live the life you want to live. This isn't something I believed before but now I'm living it! And Ben has the skills to help get you there. Don't get me wrong, it is HARD work on your part, and while you're in it, it might not feel like you're getting better for awhile, but be kind and patient with yourself in those first several sessions! Working with Bryant: Eventually I hit a point where I needed less PT specific guidance (I also just really sucked at keeping up with my PT exercises at home), so Ben suggested I transition to working with Bryant on a regular strength and conditioning program, which is now what I've been doing for the past 3 years. I started off hating exercise and never having done strength training, to hating exercise slightly less (lol), hitting PRs, feeling less tired in my body all the time, being more confident in the strength I have (especially when needing to lift heavy things!), and of course being in SO much less pain, most days no pain! If you work with Bryant, he'll help you come up with a program that fits your fitness goals, whatever that means for you. All you have to do is show up and do the work! Which is still a lot, but it really helps lower the barrier to exercise for me (someone figuring out the program and also coaching me through sets--I would not push myself as hard otherwise). I like that he can also make adjustments on the fly depending if I am having pain that day. I've also talked with him before about how I like/don't like to be pushed, and I appreciate that he understands how to coach me best through tough sets. I've definitely broken down multiple times during different sessions (whether with Ben or Bryant) because I was having a really bad day or just feeling hateful towards myself for not being able to do an exercise and both of them always held space for me with care and without judgment, and I am super thankful to them for that Mental health and physical health are absolutely tied to each other and they both recognize that. On a final note, I've now sent the rest of my family to them as well haha! My brother has been working with Bryant for about 2 years and has made his own huge fitness gains, and my mom has started seeing him for her pain too. And shout out to Wendy who's also been helping my mom!! It's great to see LPI continue to expand their space as they grow too. Anyway, wishing you all well out there with your own PT journeys, it's not an easy path, but the investment in your health is worth it!!!

I've been meaning to write this review for quite some time now, and shame on me for not doing it…read moresooner. I was the most miserable person-literally. I had just about every bad ache a human being could possibly have: lower back pain, neck pain, and numbness and tingling in my hands, feet, and legs. I couldn't get a good night's sleep because of the constant discomfort. I went to see practically every specialist my insurance offered, only to be told it was "normal" because I was getting older (I was only 45 at the peak of my pain!). I felt like a guinea pig going through spinal taps (which are super nasty if you've never had one), endless blood tests, and studies, but nothing worked. The only thing I hadn't tried was voodoo. LOL One day while scrolling, my algorithm started suggesting chiropractors and alternative treatments. That's when I found LPI. I felt like the guy in the video was talking directly to me and describing everything that was going wrong with my body. Without hesitating, I booked a free consultation. That turned out to be one of the most important decisions of my life. When I showed up for my appointment, Doctor Wendy greeted me. There are NOT enough positive things I can say about her. She isn't just super nice-you can tell she was born to do this. She's passionate, incredibly knowledgeable, and never rushes you out the door to get to the next appointment. She treats you like a real person, not just a slot on a schedule. Honestly, she's a miracle worker. When she asked what my goal was, I told her, and she promised to do everything she could to get me there-and she delivered! Thanks to her, I can now take long drives without my legs going numb, play with my kids, play golf, go on walks with my wife, and enjoy downtime together. These might sound like basic everyday activities to most people, but I couldn't do any of them before. To me, being able to do these things is priceless. If your story is anything like mine, don't hesitate to go. Wendy and the team at LPI will have you feeling like a million bucks. Doctor Wendy, you are the GOAT!

If you care about your health and well being, do not come to a place that practices mill medicine,…read morecontrary to the standard of care. Multiple rushed and poor experiences here with several physicians. Most of your face time here is with physician assistants. When a doctor experiences significant tactile resistance during an injection and openly admits a lesion isn't behaving like a typical cyst, shifting to a passive "wait-and-see" approach without looking at your historical imaging is simply a contradiction in clinical logic. Calling that out isn't about being confrontational; it is about recognizing that your intuition was right, your questions are valid. Dr. Billings operates a medical mill. I came to see Dr Billings (incidentally CEO of Pasadena Orthopedics) for a thumb lesion xrayed 5 years ago and never biopsied. She injected my thumb without so much as objectively establishing if the lesion was solid or cystic. She told me with utmost confidence that I have a cyst. She suddenly revised her diagnosis while in the midst of obviously struggling to inject the lesion with steroids. She wanted to move fast because volume means Benjamins $. I walked in with little to no pain, and walked out unable to fully flex or extend my thumb without pain. The office then gave me the run around for a simple imaging request after the pain progressively worsened and insinuated that the response to my injection in 6 weeks is "diagnostic." No rationale was offered. Billings tried to pivot with, "let's see if we get a treatment response." Truth is, she realized unnecessary needle trauma would have to be healed from forcefully trying to inject steroids (liquid) in something with the density of an eraser (before imaging could become meaningful). I offered to show them prior imaging, but they were too busy churning out patients. I came here for diagnostic clarity, not to sit around for 2 hours and be provided substandard care. The audacity of trying to pass it off as, "let's wait to see if the treatment responds" (damn well knowing it's not behaving like a cyst and forcing fluid in a solid mass in a patient's thumb). Come on now.

We had tried to support her living alone as long as she could, but that was no longer possible. We choose Pasadena Park Health Care primarily because its location allowed us to see her often and keep an eye on her. We didn't realize how lucky we were to have made that decision. For the first 3 months especially, we tried to help her transition. We were frequent visitors and had the chance to see for ourselves the kind of care she was receiving. The aids were patient and polite as well as capable. Everyone was friendly and upbeat. She made tremendous progress at physical therapy, and began walking regularly, something she had never done at home. She seems relieved to have the burden of cooking taken from her, enjoys her meals, and has even gained back a few pounds. I think her favorite time of day is when she hears the food carts rolling down the hall! She likes the food, and doesn't have to cook it! The staff is very sensitive to what can be a difficult stage in an independent persons life. Zev, the administrator, has always gone out of his way to keep us informed of any change in her mood or needs, and I'm eternally grateful for that kind of great communication. Covid has, of course, placed increased demands on us all, and because of the lock-down, we were afraid she might lose hope in such forced isolation. But they had a "tele-visitor" system in place to encourage us to video conference on a regular basis, and I think it's maintaining that contact that has done the most to boost her morale and quiet our fears. I know she's safer here than at home alone, and I know she's getting the medical attention she needs to be comfortable and maintain her strength. When this Covid nightmare is over, we'll be back to seeing her again in person. In the meantime, I can sleep at night knowing she's getting excellent care in a safe and warm environment.
