Wow! What a show! Upon arrival, I was a bit worried because the venue was small as was the stage. In my mind I was wondering how he could pull off a magic show with illusions in such a small venue. Boy did he prove me wrong. The show was fantastic from start to finish. He is a fantastic performer who easily connects with his audience. His magic is top-notch and his illusions are very well done! I especially appreciated his interactions with the audience as well as his story telling. He used quite a few volunteers from the audience. At the end of the show, he remembered every one of their names and thanked them individually. Impressive!! He also made himself available afterwards for photos with every audience member. What a great guy!! My only complain is the service in the room. We were one of the first people seated when the doors opened and our food order did not arrive until after the show started, and that was only after we flagged down the server to inquire. But I am not deducting any stars for the bad service as that is not the responsibility of the magician. If you are in Vegas, I highly recommend his show. FUNNY-FRIENDLY-GREAT TRICKS-HE'S NOT BAD LOOKING-GOOD SHOW FOR ALL AGES INCLUDING YOUNGER AND OLDER CHILDREN David is currently performing at The Magician's Room located in the Linq Promenade (where the giant rotating observation wheel is) next to the BBQ restaurant. First floor has a few crane game machines and stairs and elevator to the upstairs where the magic happens. David is kind, charismatic and very funny! He had everyone laughing soon after the show began. His humor never overshadowed the magic but it enhanced it. David and his assistant work well together. I watch a lot of magic on TV and in-person. Every trick he did was unique without any obvious way how he did each one. He is very engaging with the audience which makes the show more enjoyable. He is good working with children and it's a child friendly show. Sit in the first few rows especially if you're with a child but there isn't a bad seat in the room. Food and drinks of all kinds are available, so if you didn't have dinner or just want a snack, they'll have something for you on the menu. The two gin and tonics I had were well made and a good size. The first few rows have a small table between seats and is worth the extra $$ just for all the room you get to yourself in these rows. Service was good from the ticket taker and usher to the server. Wow, what a fun and amazing show David Goldrake and his assistants perform. We had such a fun and entertaining time, and just love the magic tricks and illusions that David performed. The levitation and underwater escape definitely were our favorites and just baffled us. This show keeps you engaged and mesmerized since David perform such a wide variety of magic with a lot of audience participation. He also has a great sense of impromptu humor he throws into the show along with a little dancing, and he does a meet and greet photo session after the show which is always a big plus. This is a great show to see for any and all ages. It is perform in The Magicians Room located in The Linq Promenade (see my separate review for this venue). The staff is friendly and helpful, drinks and snacks are reasonably, showroom view and seating are good, lights and sound very good, and 3 hours parking is free for NV residents at The Linq self-parking garage. Wow! David Goldrake is amazing. What an incredible magician he is. His show at the Magicians Room in Las Vegas was one of the most incredible magic shows ever. Mr Goldrake's charisma, stage presence, and illusions are something the entire world should witness. He should be considered an artist as well as a magnificent performer. My partner & I saw David Goldrake At The Magician's Room on the Linq Promenade tonight. It is a big show for such an intimate space - with a great combination of large "Grand Illusion" pieces and some very intimate mysteries that you rarely get to experience this close. By far, my favorite piece involves coins doing things that coins just can't do. Anyone with an appreciation of the artistry & skill involved in sleight-of-hand will be blown away by this one. If you're lucky enough to have seen any of the great illusionists of the last century, some of the bigger pieces may seem familiar. But Goldrake's storytelling is so special, and his personality so charming that it all feels very fresh. This is an excellent family show, but is also sophisticated enough to make a great date-night. What a great combination of magic, illusion, acrobatics and even some light comedy! David Goldrake is a natural performer, putting his own flair on classic tricks but also presented some brand new acts that I've never seen before. The show definitely had a fair share of thrilling moments, but David's narrative and way of storytelling projected a mystical vibe across the room. About halfway through, the acrobats did a performance of their own right above the audience which was equally amazing! Expect audience involvement throughout the entire show. Regardless of if you're sitting right up front or several rows back, you still have an equal chance of being chosen to participate. As I'm more reserved, the possibility alone of being called on kept me alert and on edge, haha. In all seriousness though, those who did participate seemed to have fun with it and David's humor always kept the audience engaged. This show is great for families and people of all ages, regardless of whether this is your first magic show or if you've seen quite a few. Following his performance, David heads to his gift shop for a meet-and-greet, providing a perfect opportunities for photos if you wish! Just a tip: If you're purchasing tickets from TicketMaster, you'll still need to go to the Tropicana box office to get actual tickets printed. Almost every magician does the same illusions as every other one. The difference is in their showmanship, sets, demeanor, and pace of the show. In the years I've lived in Las Vegas, I've seen a lot of magic shows and I told some friends that I was magic-ed out. It was with that feeling that I went to see Goldrake's Imaginarium last night. He has a very pleasant demeanor and he avoids the flourishes others use with their capes (magic clothing of whatever cut) in the ta-da moment. He sets up his show in the beginning and it grabs you in. Everything he did, I've seen done before in one way or another--joining rings together, making people appear from an "empty" box, walking through a metal slab. The husband part was something different (go see the show to find out). The sets are standard but what makes the show visually appealing are the projections to rear of the stage. It adds a lot of dimension to this good sized theatre and aids the act being done. I was in general admission last night about three rows from the back and I could see and enjoy the show. For kids, there are cushions so they sit higher. Ask for one from the usher if your youngster needs one. After the show, you must exit via a ramp that goes past his store. If you want to wait, you can have your photo taken with him. I'm a bit old for that so I just went down the ramp that ends near the front doors of the Trop. Goldrake is a fresh figure in our entertainment scene. If you go, do me a favor and look up Luxembourg before you go. went to see the show last minute with my family and it exceeded all expectations. the venue is excellent. intimate setting, clean, nice atmosphere. nice looking restaurant and bar next to the entrance on the second floor. the performer was David Goldrake. He was fabulous and a great showman. His tricks blew us away and he did a fantastic job of including most of the audience. Great for all ages. My kids and my mother loved it. I was a little concerned at first, but now feel so very fortunate to have been at such an intimate show! David is the ultimate entertainer....he is, of course, a talented magician, but in addition,he's funny, warm and very inclusive! What a wonderful show! Every seat in the house seems good, we however sat down in the comfy red booths. It was nice to have a table, however, if you are sitting on the backside towards the stage you will have to turn to see David. The intimate experience of not being a huge theater is really nice, you feel more in tune with the show as a whole. David Goldrake is downright an amazing entertainer. Prepare to be completely entertained! He seems to be a down to earth kind of individual and cares about his fans and audience. You can tell he loves his work and that he wants to make sure his audience has a great experience. The show was a nice length and I got to see many things I have never seen before. You don't have to get there super early as every seat as I said is a good one. Don't be worried about the line out the door as it moves really quickly once they begin seating. If you have a wheelchair cannot use stairs look to your right and take that hallway on up to the top of the stairs. David takes pictures for free after the show and will answer any questions you need in the gift shop. This is a great lower priced show that the whole family would love! read more
