However, the service is not that great & this super busy store is always filled with curious seekers rather than purchasing customers wasting time causing stress. Having decided to get back into running, I decided that a trip to a running store for a shoe…read morefitting would be a good step in the right direction. Misty was awesome. She taught me an incredible amount about the type of shoe that is right for me, and most importantly why. She went through a great process of helping me select the best shoe for how I run. She also introduced me to the magic that is toe socks. This was one of the best shopping experiences I have ever had. I highly recommend Running Wild to anyone who wants expert input on selecting a running shoe or running associated gear. They literally have everything you need for running. From shoes to apparel to supplements, they have it.

We have all gotten so used to Amazon. Well online stores can't give what I received today. First I had soo many questions i thought for sure I was being annoying but the employee John gave me reassurance that they are a community bike shop and to ask away. I was initially interested in electric bike but after talking to John I decided that wasn't a great decision for me. Then he helped me pick out multiple bikes to give a test spin outside! We also connected on a few other topics which was so nice. I asked about locks and I got the full run down on that as well. I went in to get a new tube for my friends bike with a few questions and walked out with a new (used) bike and lots of knowledge! Plus two free tune ups. Remember if you buy a bike online no free tune ups and no meeting cool guys like John! Support your local bike shops and stop buying shitty ones from Walmart or online! Last thing is if John was not so patient and kind I most definitely would not have made my purchase. So much good happened I forgot to mention they were also able to fix my friends bike tired same day!

I had my wiener dog with me and everyone was super cool with him being around. This shop I can tell is full of heart and soul for bikes bicyclists and the community. I had Tom help me repair my tire and tube. He asked me questions and was very present, curious, and made sure I knew what he knew and what he could do about helping me with my bike. Every single person in the store was pleasant to be around including all of the staff. Great vibes for weird times during this virus. I'll be back!Tom!

Academy has the best athletic shoe selection, BUT the department's customer service is the pits. Rarely do they greet you or offer help and if you do ask for help it appears that you are bothering them. This past week I have been in the shoe department four times and I have never been approached by an employee. Actually that is not true yesterday while standing by an employee for a couple of minutes, as he shuffled and arranged boxes, he asked if I was finding the size I needed. When I told him no, he said "those are the sizes we have." This is great store, great merchandise, but management needs to sell the importance of customer service to their employees.
