I am not one that will complain or give bad reviews about Dave's Pizza but after being disappointed with food consistency, poor service in taking food orders and getting food items included when specifically asked to omit them. Today I called instead of ordering online as in the past but that was no better. Specifically asked for a chicken parm sub as per their menu, just in a calzone and repeated, "please add sauce inside the calzone along with the chicken cutlet and parmacsian cheese." If I could post the picture I took, you would see no sauce inside and what is supposed to be chicken cutlet, was what looks like sliced deli meat. We ordered no peppers, repeated myself at least 3 times because my husband can not eat them.......got the food with peppers in it. We have given Dave's pizza a chance multiple times, placing orders of $30 and more at a time, then driving 30 minutes because we liked their food so much at first. After I thought about it I decided to call to speak with the manager, was asked to hold, which I did for all of 15 minutes...... followed by the click of a hang up on my call!! I did not bother to call back and I will not bother to call or place an on-line food order with Dave's Pizza ever again. read more

What can I say about Dave's that hasn't already been said?? I came in today with my elderly Mom after Church around 12-12:30 and we got the daily slice special, 2 slices of pizza with a soda (free refills if eat in). I got 2 chourice slices that are huge and she got 2 cheese and was able to sub 1 out for a decent side salad. The kid that was working the register was funny, outgoing and knew everything about all their special flavors, even offering me a side of the Portuguese steak gravy from the Steak pizza because I was interested. Very disappointed in how the service has slipped at Dave's Pizza over the past year. The last three times I've tried to order Dave's my order has been late. Twice was delivery, once was pick up. Just had to cancel two pizzas when we got to twenty minutes past my order time and when I called the pies hadn't even left the store. This place has really good food and we order from here often. However, their delivery orders NEVER fail to be wrong. Sometimes they will forget our drinks or bring the wrong plates or sizes, like ordering 16 wings and getting 8. Don't know if it's because they're under new ownership but we've been ordering the specialty pizzas for years now, specifically the chicken Mozambique and the Portuguese steak pizza. $17 is a lot for a specialty pizza but we've been willing to pay because it was just that good. That's not so much the case anymore the chicken Mozambique pizza had no sauce on it , it was just dry chicken and the same with the Portuguese steak one it was just dry and lack of flavor. French fry plates are to die for. It's tons of hand cut fries. Smothered in ur choice of Portuguese steak, chicken Mozambique, or buffalo chicken. All choices with cheese melted all over the top and sauces and juices and so much goodness it's to die for. Plus the amount of food you get to the price is ridiculous. We order from here every once in a while. While I typically stick to what I know is good, my son usually orders something new each time. So far, he has had pizza, subs, calzones and chicken wings. Every time no complaint. The only time I can say I was not satisfied was during the Patriots AFC championship game. But, then again, I can't really blame them all that much that the pizza was a bit sloppy. I'm sure this was one of their busiest days. The chicken wings are phenomenal. I too agree with one of the earlier reviews that their steak and cheese subs are terrible! WAY too much salt. I'm talking about tasting like a pound of salt was poured on top, just way too much!! Their meatball subs are awful too!. NO taste to the meatballs and I had a hard time finding any sauce that was applied. The bread tasted almost stale. MAYBE the pizzas are good? I highly doubt this since you can't seem to make a sub right how can you make a pizza right. I would avoid this place and seek other pizza/sub shops. There are far better in the city, literally anywhere would be better! The employees I encountered seem quite rude except for the one young girl working the register who seemed nice. I walked in and two young guys just stared at me who were up front in the kitchen as I walked past them to the cashier. They never said anything to me like hello just stared and gave me a look like what do you want? I don't expect an amazing greeting, but MAYBE a smile or nod wouldn't hurt huh? Based upon this experience, my first, I will NEVER give you another try. Good thing your out of my way anyways! Edit: Almost forgot to add another important piece of info! Five star pizza. I haven't had a better pepperoni pizza since I was on Staten Island. Perfect crust and sauce. However, when it comes to service (we picked up), they have a LOT of growing pains to work out. Seems everyone in FR is ordering from them and they are struggling with the crush. I've been to Dave's about 5 times they opened a few weeks ago and the salad, sub, garlic knots, hand cut fries, and most of all pizza have all been excellent. All of my friends who have tried it agreed that it's the best pizza in the city. If you haven't given it a try you're missing out! Dave's and his staff are extremely friendly to anyone who walks in. It has a good atmosphere. I was surprised to see Dave delivering pizza's tonight but the more I thought about it I realized he likes to greet everyone at the tables so it must be a great way to introduce himself to a broader range of his customers. It seems that he cares about the community that he started his business in. Please keep up the great quality and I will continue to visit for years to come. The only thing I wasn't a fan of so far was the boneless chicken tenders. Went there Thursday night. The service was great. I have to say that the staff here is excellent. We are inside and they were always cleaning and keeping busy. Every time a pizza came out of the oven they cleaned the oven out and they were always tidying up the dining area. I hope the owner knows he has such a hard working staff. They were courteous and patient and kept checking on us after we received our meal. The pizza was great. The cheese and sauce were so good, reminded me of Mark Anthony's in onset. Although I would only oven cook leftovers. Microwave made them kind of gross and not good cold either. The cinnamon knots were really good. Garlic knots were your average garlic knots. The selection they have is really cool. A lot of different pizzas to choose from. I'd like to try them all! read more

This is the first time I've ordered from here, and it will be my last. I ordered online, and half of my order was incorrect. I ordered 2 Portuguese steak fries, one regular, and one without cheese and peppers. Both orders came without cheese and peppers. Their "Steak slices" are also very misleading. The steak seems to be a generic version of Steakumms, very chewy and stringy. I also ordered 2 pizzas, one Clams Casino and one White Pizza w Clams, with artichokes added. The Clams Casino Pizza just advertises clams, whereas the White pizza advertises whole baby clams. Both pizzas had a small amount of chopped clams that seem to be out of a can, and the artichokes were not on the pizza as well. When I called to let them know of the error about the artichokes (didn't get to the rest yet), they did not offer to get this order correct, just a credit on my next order for the cost of the artichokes (which was 1.79). This order was 54 dollars. Why would I choose to order again, and get more items not how I ordered? This is very surprising, as I have heard rave reviews from friends. Food tastes okay, portions are puny, and they're priced high for the area. We recently got a lg steak n cheese sub, lg chix parm sub & small tuna, side of hot garlic rolls. Again, taste wise, it was good. Ive never seen such skimpy portions in subs though anywhere, maybe Whole Foods?. Literally, not even 4 ounces of steak & cheese filling in a large sub? for $7.99, sad. Same puny amount for the chix parm sub & even the small tuna sub I got for my 5 yr old? Basically barely 4 inch sub roll with about a tablespoon of tuna on it. The hot garlic rolls/knots, whatever they call them, we got half order for $3.50 & they upcharged another $.75 for cold tomato sauce. All six rolls couldn't cover the palm of my hand, baby sized, like a munchkin. We'll give the pizza a try as I hear good things & they look good on here, but for subs & sides, they're awful; price, quantity, & quality is bad deal.
