Lots of variety! If you can think of a sundae or ice cream concoction they probably have it. Had the brownie sundae, generous with the amount of brownie, perfect ratio of fudge to topping to ice cream. They also have dips for the soft ice cream! And flurries. And flavors of soft ice cream. And Banana splits. Really they have it all. Always a good crowd, lots of picnic tables all around the building. They take card so no need to panic about having cash. Went to Batavia for dinner with the girls and we stopped at this cute little ice cream shop for some cones! The selection that is presented is delicious and has some pretty nice options to choose from! My friend and I just wanted small cones so we ordered kiddie cones thinking we were going to get half a scoop. The portion was pretty big for being a kiddie cone and you cant beat the price! We sat out side because it was gorgeous out. It was pretty packed for being 8 o clock at night. They have plenty of seating out side and in. The sitting area inside is a cute vintage look to it. You can also choose to sit by the road or in the back in the grass. Both very spacious. The staff were pretty friendly and the place was kept pretty clean. They are also dog friendly! (Outside) a few people had their dogs with them at the picnic tables enjoying some ice cream as well! If I'm driving around in the area I definitely will stop by and grab some ice cream! read more

We will NEVER be going back there again! My friends and I were treated horribly by one of the staff members there tonight. One worker got very aggressive with us. We were enjoying our ice cream when one girl came over and let us know that they were closing at 9:30 [maybe she misspoke] so we thought we had more time to hang out and catch up. In the middle of our laughter another girl from behind the counter yelled with an attitude across to us that they close at 9 and they still needed to mop [even though they had already started to clean] {cross contamination} so we needed to finish up and leave because "we close like literally now," she said mind you this was at was 8:50. Also they locked the main entrance around 8:30 so we were being verbally attacked while locked in [habeas corpus]. When we spoke up [freedom of speech] and said we would not be coming back [because of how she treated us she started yelling even louder and started moving toward us. So after they finally unlocked the door we proceeded to leave. This is when she started recording us and our vehicles with no permission from us of coarse. I don't know pretty crazy to me. Makes me think not everyone is cut out for customer service. This all could have been avoided if we were treated like humans and approached properly. This used to be called Famous Dave's Ice Cream, but then when Less Famous Dave's BBQ became more famous, they dropped the "Less" and then sued Famous Dave's Ice Cream to drop the Famous. It's a long and convoluted story that leaves many decent souls cold inside, and lines the pockets of many a lawyer. But on to the review. It's been a long time since I visited Dave's Ice Cream in Batavia. I got a large banana shake only to realize that it's the kind of shake that uses banana syrup (the chemical taste) rather than fresh bananas with vanilla ice cream (which is the kind that I love). Most of the Buffalo area banana shakes use the syrup so I can't really complain, but I did find that syrupy taste in the other milkshakes I tried from here too. I preferred Sammi's in Akron which was more my style of shake, but now that it's shut down I think I'll try Dave's again at some point soon. read more

Came here for soft serve ice cream after eating dinner out. There were only a couple people ahead of us in line so the service was real quick. The ice cream here is the most smooth and creamy Ice cream I've had from over 20 different states. The portion sizes were fair relative to the price. The only ding was that although the ice cream is incredibly smooth, it needed more vanilla flavor to make it to a 5 rating. Still, it was a good experience and I would recommend this place. We'll be back the next time we stop through Batavia. read more

While my friend,mom and I were eating there having a wonderful night we had the worst experience of customer service i've ever experienced. My mom and I have gone there for years from Albion and I will never come back again. We were told by a staff member that they locked the door and closed at 9:30 (which maybe she missed spoke) so when we were ready to leave to let her know. Remind you this was at 8:30 the doors were locked and they already started to clean around us. At around 8:45 this girl yells with an attitude behind the counter "hey we close at 9 and thats like literally now or in 10 minutes so if you can finish up and leave". Mind you there was no bad interaction on our end that this attitude would have been justified. While another girl was trying to unlock the door while we left we told them we will not be back because of this girls attitude. That is when the girl got louder and said "No no no"which i yelled back "you have an attitude problem". While walking out she came from around the counter still yelling. While leaving my friend and I honked to one another to say goodbye. My friend told me the woman pulled out her phone came up to the window and started recording her. I've seen many reviews about bad experience but I still continue to go even though I've experienced attitude many times but never to this degree. I do not at all recommend going here I will not recommend anyone I know to go here and I will not be back there again. There are many other ice cream places around Batavia and I would recommend going to them. read more

They had dairy free ice cream which was exactly what I was looking for! There were sooooo many toppings to choose from wow I ended up getting sprinkles with a sprinkle waffle cone. Was it way too many sprinkles? You bet! Did I regret it? Only slightly. Would I return? My husband and I were planning on going back today but something else got in the way unfortunately. The prices must have been okay- I don't remember thinking that it was outrageous. They have outdoor music while you sit at a table and even plenty more seating in the backyard. It's on the Main Street so be prepared for loud semi trucks to pass you as you sit and eat -the music sorta drowns it out though. read more

The customer service was great! I got the root beer and vanilla twist with rainbow sprinkles. It was a very smooth consistency. They had fresh made waffle cones which were very good. I can't believe I've never reviewed Dave's! Since we have family in Batavia and take Route 5 to get there, we often stop at Dave's on the way home for a cone. We loved this shop when it was Brendan's and decades ago my Uncle owned this ice cream stand (it was called Casty's) too. Dave's custard is excellent. Creamy and delicious. I usually like a kiddie twist on a regular cone with rainbow sprinkles. Tonight on our way home from visiting family, I stopped with my mom. I got a peanut butter and fudge sundae. It was good, though the peanut butter was a little thin and not salty enough for my taste. But it was ice cream, and it was delicious, so who was I to complain?! Ha! In the fall, we've gotten AMAZING apple pies from here. Seriously, best ever! So stop in to Dave's, have a cone, and when in season buy a pie! read more

We've been there a few times but today was completely terrible. I got a small twist cone. I went to take the first lick and the ice cream fell off. Luckily I caught it but the workers just watch. I had to ask them if they could at least get me a bowl. Apparently their eating in front of us was much more important that simply at least getting an ice cream cone so it doesn't fall off. They didn't offer another cone, an apology, or even a bowl until I asked for one. Poor customer service, rude, and very immature. I hope the owners are proud of themselves for hiring them. It must be nice to have such an easy paying job not to do much and eat while pretending to work. Lickety splits is just down the road. read more

I've had decent service but usually the service is consistently poor. Pathetically small portions when you can drive a mile to Lickity Splits and get a wider range of options and a higher quality experience! I was having a great time in dave's until a worker named Maleina served me and left me very unsatisfied. She not only gave me the wrong change, but she also gave a kids size when i ordered a large. She preceded to give me lots of attitude and slapped my change into my hand. As i walked away aggrieved, she called me a very derogatory word. Stopped in yesterday to get the fall pumpkin spice ice cream. The machine was broke for that and a chocolate/ vanilla twist. My daughter and I changed our order to what was available. When I questioned the amount because I thought she said 8 dollars for a small milkshake. The young lady was very rude and grabbed the receipt from her register and explained In a very rude way. She also shorted me on my change . I didn't know it till later on . I guess I was a little shocked I was spoke to in a rude manner and didn't check my change. To Dave's owners and management please train your staff to be more polite and professional to your costumers . We do after all pay their wages do we not?
