Which is okay (not really) but when I saw they had reaper ranch, I wanted to try it and the cashier said "you'll have to buy it". I got the small top-loaded fries and it only came with three pieces of chicken, plus the fries were cold. The flavor was fine but nothing special. I also tried the mac and cheese, and it just tasted like boxed mac to me. Maybe it's just this location, but I wish there was a 1.5-star option--doesn't quite deserve one star, but definitely not two. I visited Dave's Hot Chicken in Highland, CA tonight and placed my order at 9:46 PM with Dayana. From the start, I felt rushed at the register even though there was no one behind me. About one to one-and-a-half minutes after placing my order, I went back to the counter to ask if I could cancel the chicken strip and switch to the 10-bite meal. Dayana seemed confused and said the order couldn't be changed because they had already started it. This was around 9:49 PM. What was frustrating is that my order wasn't actually called until 10:05 PM, nearly 20 minutes after I initially ordered. Given that amount of time, it didn't make sense to me why such a small adjustment couldn't be made so soon after payment. It felt less like a system limitation and more like an unwillingness to make the change. When I got home around 10:10 PM, I realized the food wasn't hot; just warm. After waiting 20 minutes, I expected the food to be fresh and hot. I also noticed Dayana sweeping the main area while waiting, which made me wonder if my food had been sitting out before being handed to me. I'm disappointed overall. Whoever does the staffing here should be fired immediately. I don't know where they found these employees but they're all insanely terrible. We decided not to go to the one is SB because it was busy and there's a reason this location never has a wait it sucks. To clarify the situation, I contacted the Lakewood location and spoke with Kylie, who confirmed that the cards should be accepted. I then followed up with the Highland store and spoke again with Ana. During this conversation, she remained dismissive and repeated her assertion that the cards might be stolen due to the lack of a signature. I found this interaction to be unprofessional and inappropriate, and both I and my grandchildren felt offended by the implication. I believe this situation could have been handled with greater courtesy and a willingness to verify the issue rather than making assumptions.
