I've been coming here for years and I'm finally getting around to giving my review :D. I'm actually getting my hair done as I type and I just love this place. My aunt introduced me to Linh, who is so great at what she does! It's a cute, cozy hair salon and I always feel comfortable. Parking is never a problem and Dave, the owner, is super nice and always so upbeat and happy! Always positive vibes here. As for my services, Linh never has let me down and I NEVER leave disappointed. As a lot of people may know, Asian hair is super hard to work with especially when it comes to lifting the color from dark to light. Somehow, she always pulls it off along with a great cut and style! Overall, the salon is great- cute and clean! The hairdressers all know what they're doing so you really can't go wrong. Also, the pricing is very fair for what you leave with. I always receive compliments on my hair and I switch up a lot! So give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. UPDATE: Came back again for a hair dye and cut! I'm convinced Lynn is secretly a magician. She has to be in order to have transformed my thick, black hair into a healthy, grey ombré. I decided a couple months ago that I wanted a grey ombré because 1) I wouldn't be able to fly down to L.A. every month to touch up my hair with Lynn, but mostly because 2) I'm lazy. (Some people shower in the morning; I sleep.) I sat on the idea until I could see Lynn because I wouldn't dare trusting anybody else to put my hair through the wringer. I have coarse, virgin, Asian hair that needed to be bleached beyond recognition to achieve the grey color I wanted. After looking like a foil monster for an hour, my hair was still incredibly healthy -- no breakage, splits, or melting -- all thanks to Lynn who wanted to take things low and slow. My hair still felt like my hair with barely any textural difference between the black and blonde. When we were done, I was totally content with the color but Lynn is such a perfectionist that she was determined to get it more grey. Where else would you ever get such service? She was right -- my grey ombre looked absolutely perfect after she toned it once more. I could not be happier. I've been getting nothing but envious stares and compliments on my hair since I left Lynn's chair. Seriously cannot recommend her enough for any type of hair on all ages. read more

ThuLinh (Lynn) is amazing! She worked at Regis Salon in Lakewood for 14 years as a master stylist. I am a long time client of Lynn's. Initially, I only saw her for haircuts, then I built up the courage to get my hair colored... from red streaks to dying my entire hair plum. She recently quit and moved to Dave's Hairloft in Long Beach. Since I live in Orange County, I would see other hairstylists now and again in my area. However, I would usually be disappointed and go back to her to do some damage control. I trust Lynn completely with my hair, and I refuse to let anyone but her color my hair. Hairstylists doing the opposite of what you ask seems to be a common problem because they seem to think they know what you would like better... and your opinion does not quite matter. This does not apply to Lynn. She will give you advice if you ask her, but it is your hair, and she will do what you want. I had to go to the DMV to get my driver's license photo ID taken, so I paid her a visit a couple of days prior to my appointment to get my hair trimmed and colored. Ok. So I've been in search of a hair salon in my area for years. I came across a Groupon deal for a cut and full highlights with Irene Baker. I yelped her prior to purchasing and read some great reviews! I booked an appointment with her and she was super pleasant on the phone. I was able to set an appointment after 5pm which is a plus since I work a 9-5 and weekends are just too busy for me. The day of my appointment I arrived a little early and she was ready to go. My husband came along because he didn't believe I'd really chop off all my hair. My hair was past my waist line and I plan to donate. I wanted to go with a Lob and Irene also suggested I go with a sombre! She's insightful and gave me some really good feedback. I'm not a hair guru and she was able to explain everything to me as we went. She has gentle hands and kept our flow of conversation going. She just a genuinely sweet person and really knows how to make her customers feel comfortable. I was hesitant about cutting off so much hair and the highlights but she was really encouraging. They are so friendly and there is none of the back bitting bitter atmosphere I often experienced at Regis. Like most people, I found this place through Groupon with Irene and it was the best Groupon experience I've had, yet! Before I came here, I went to a high-end salon that ended up killing my hair, which I paid $200+ for it. But after my experience with Irene, this was WAY BETTER than what you would expect out of a fancy schmancy salon. The environment really made you feel at home and really comfortable. It was just Irene and I alone in the salon so we got to learn about each other well enough. Before she began, she asked about my hair and what I have done in the past. After I told her about my previous experience, she got to work and knew what to do. My favorite part was the hair wash. I was in a relaxed state as she lather and rinsed. Irene took her time as she cut my hair and I really appreciated that. Most salons I've been too, they just snip and snap and done. I was really surprised how good of a job she did after all the talking that we did lol. Overall, I really enjoyed the session and I can't wait to give her another chance and hope to become a regular here. Too bad my hair grows an inch every 2 months or so.
