I've been coming here for years and I'm finally getting around to giving my review :D. I'm actually getting my hair done as I type and I just love this place. My aunt introduced me to Linh, who is so great at what she does! It's a cute, cozy hair salon and I always feel comfortable. Parking is never a problem and Dave, the owner, is super nice and always so upbeat and happy! Always positive vibes here. As for my services, Linh never has let me down and I NEVER leave disappointed. As a lot of people may know, Asian hair is super hard to work with especially when it comes to lifting the color from dark to light. Somehow, she always pulls it off along with a great cut and style! Overall, the salon is great- cute and clean! The hairdressers all know what they're doing so you really can't go wrong. Also, the pricing is very fair for what you leave with. I always receive compliments on my hair and I switch up a lot! So give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. UPDATE: Came back again for a hair dye and cut! Before this, my hair was on the platinum blonde side! Went for an ash blonde and a slight trim this time around. Once again I'm never disappointed!!!!! I think I have an addiction. Thanks Linh!
I love this salon so much! I've been going to Pina for years and decided to write a review. When she puts blonde n my hair is comes out PERFECT! It isn't orange and I get tons of compliments. The salon is clean and very organized, I like how the stylist work together and all very friendly. Thank you Pina!
I'm convinced Lynn is secretly a magician. She has to be in order to have transformed my thick, black hair into a healthy, grey ombré. I decided a couple months ago that I wanted a grey ombré because 1) I wouldn't be able to fly down to L.A. every month to touch up my hair with Lynn, but mostly because 2) I'm lazy. (Some people shower in the morning; I sleep.) I sat on the idea until I could see Lynn because I wouldn't dare trusting anybody else to put my hair through the wringer. I have coarse, virgin, Asian hair that needed to be bleached beyond recognition to achieve the grey color I wanted. After looking like a foil monster for an hour, my hair was still incredibly healthy -- no breakage, splits, or melting -- all thanks to Lynn who wanted to take things low and slow. My hair still felt like my hair with barely any textural difference between the black and blonde. When we were done, I was totally content with the color but Lynn is such a perfectionist that she was determined to get it more grey. Where else would you ever get such service? She was right -- my grey ombre looked absolutely perfect after she toned it once more. I could not be happier. I've been getting nothing but envious stares and compliments on my hair since I left Lynn's chair. Seriously cannot recommend her enough for any type of hair on all ages.
ThuLinh (Lynn) is amazing! She worked at Regis Salon in Lakewood for 14 years as a master stylist. I am a long time client of Lynn's. Initially, I only saw her for haircuts, then I built up the courage to get my hair colored... from red streaks to dying my entire hair plum. She recently quit and moved to Dave's Hairloft in Long Beach. Since I live in Orange County, I would see other hairstylists now and again in my area. However, I would usually be disappointed and go back to her to do some damage control. I trust Lynn completely with my hair, and I refuse to let anyone but her color my hair. Hairstylists doing the opposite of what you ask seems to be a common problem because they seem to think they know what you would like better... and your opinion does not quite matter. This does not apply to Lynn. She will give you advice if you ask her, but it is your hair, and she will do what you want. I had to go to the DMV to get my driver's license photo ID taken, so I paid her a visit a couple of days prior to my appointment to get my hair trimmed and colored. I will follow her wherever she goes! Lynn's direct cell: (562) 833-1825 Salon: (562) 627-1960
Ok. So I've been in search of a hair salon in my area for years. I came across a Groupon deal for a cut and full highlights with Irene Baker. I yelped her prior to purchasing and read some great reviews! I booked an appointment with her and she was super pleasant on the phone. I was able to set an appointment after 5pm which is a plus since I work a 9-5 and weekends are just too busy for me. The day of my appointment I arrived a little early and she was ready to go. My husband came along because he didn't believe I'd really chop off all my hair. My hair was past my waist line and I plan to donate. I wanted to go with a Lob and Irene also suggested I go with a sombre! She's insightful and gave me some really good feedback. I'm not a hair guru and she was able to explain everything to me as we went. She has gentle hands and kept our flow of conversation going. She just a genuinely sweet person and really knows how to make her customers feel comfortable. I was hesitant about cutting off so much hair and the highlights but she was really encouraging. She keeps a clean and organized workspace and works quickly and efficiently. Her work speaks for itself and I really hope this review brings her a lot more clients. I'll be coming back for sure. She's really helped me open up the potential of what my hair could look like. I'll be back for sure! Hopefully I'll be bold enough to go with the silver/grey sombre! Let's do this Irene!
!!! PINA DOES BLONDE!!!! Pina has been keeping my hair a fabulous blonde for the past 3 years and I couldn't be happier that she has joined Dave at the HairLoft. They are so friendly and there is none of the back bitting bitter atmosphere I often experienced at Regis. The shop is cozy yet is supplied with all the hi tech gear (steamer to bring my color up quick and even) and quality products that keep my tortured (I beach the heck out of it every four weeks) and delicate hair in primo condition. AND while I'm waiting for my color to process Pina manicures my natural nails with A coat of polish that lasts 2 weeks!!! I love Pina, Dave and Irene and you will too!!!
David is a master colorist ..... and fixer! I have been going to him for years and was sad when I moved. No one does hair like David! I was unable to find anyone in my new town (5 hours away) that could get my hair just how I love it so I miss him extremely. He is and was always so accommodating, so when I was back in the area for a business trip recently I popped in and he took care of me! A+ experience with a stylist who cares and knows what he is doing. I recommend to everyone!
Irene is my hair's best friend. I've had years of experience with hairdressers who simply wouldn't listen to what I wanted, and Irene has honestly changed my perspective on my hair. I love the long layers she gives my thick, naturally curly hair (which says a lot because I used to HATE layers) and I now have tons of flattering volume. I first found her through groupon, and her actual prices (post-groupon) are so affordable for her level of quality work. As she knows, I get quite impulsive with my hair and when I decide it's time for a cut, I need it ASAP, and she had been extremely accommodating with me and my schedule. I have recommended people to Irene (both of them loved her and her work) and I will continue to recommend her every chance I get. Check her out, you won't be disappointed!
I came here because a dear friend has Lynn as her stylist and highly recommended her to me. Let me just say this salon is quaint, cozy and friendly and it really is a place to let your hair down and let a master stylist color, cut and style it! Lynn really knows what she's doing and is a sweetheart. It's good to know there's a comfortable place to come and know my hair all get taken care of lol.
David is amazing at what he does!!! I would recommend him to all my friends!!! He's great and I will continue to go to him until I die!!!
A month later and I'm BACKKK. Once again Pina blows my expectations away. I already had a vision of how I wanted to look, but after talking and receiving pina's suggestions with my vision, my hair's end result is better that I could imagine. I am more comfortable the second time around with my hair because Pina took great care of my virgin hair the first time. I don't see myself going anywhere else.
If you're looking for a small quiet, affordable and quality hair salon, go here! Dave and Pina are magicians of hair. They both come from Regis hair salon and bring with them tons of experience and great product. They use WELLA products for hair dye not other cheap dyes. They're both very nice and very accommodating. I use Pina and have been with her for several years. She always works with me and my strict requests on what my hair color can be for work. The shop is settled next to two other hair salons so don't get confused! It's a very welcoming atmosphere.

My daughter won a haircut in a raffle from church. We were able to get a quick appointment with Dave. Her hair is naturally curly and he did a great job trimming up the layers and making her hair fall more naturally. He also gave good tips on leave-in products for her hair. He did such a good job that I asked him to cut and color my hair. I'm trying to lighten up my dark hair for the summer. It was a process but the end result was worth it. I'm looking forward to the next appointment. read more

I went to David for a color and cut and I love what he did! I am a brunette with loads of grays coming in, so we decided on heavy highlights. I've never been blonde and I was a tad nervous but it came out great and I have been getting a lot of compliments. David is very nice, patient, a great listener, and a good teacher. I'm so glad I found this place! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Irene Baker. I found her on groupon a couple months back and have been to her consistently ever since. I recently went gray and was not 100% in love with it and she scheduled a follow up appointment the following day to get it all squared away and now I love it. Thank you Irene!! read more

Thank you Irene baker for saving me from my overgrown, damaged, frumpy hair! I was introduced to her from a groupon deal. She really listens to what you want in terms of how you want your hair to come out. I really appreciated how she is cautious in how much hair to cut. That's something I'm definitely not used to. Her work station is clean and the salon itself is very cozy. She's has a very soothing, calm vibe and has a lovely aura to her. I will be returning for a haircut and for anyone that is looking for a new look, book an appointment with her! She specializes in hair coloring. I really enjoyed the hair/scalp massage and overall, I'm very pleased with my cut. read more

Lynn is a hair genius! I settled for a supercuts place and they totally butchered it. I looked like an extra from star trek. My gf brought me here and Lynn rescued me from certain ridicule and embarassment. Didn't cost outrageous either. read more
