The two hours definitely go by fast, so keep an eye on the time. They're strict about going over, even by a minute, so we set a timer and started heading back 30 minutes before our end time. There's people fishing, wakeboarding, tubing, jet skiing, swimming, or simply relaxing by the water. Just keep in mind that Monday through Thursday is reserved for fishing only while the weekends are open for recreational boating and water sports. The scenery is gorgeous, and the atmosphere is incredibly peaceful. It's the perfect place to escape the city, spend time with family or friends, or just unwind and enjoy nature. If you're looking for a relaxing day on the water in San Diego County, San Vicente Reservoir is definitely worth the visit.

I also saw a hose that I thought may need to be changed. Also my trailer brakes were not working. I expected to leave Daves Marine spending approximately $4000 due to all the issues my boat had at that time. A few days later, I received a call indicating that they were able to repair my brakes without replacing any parts which was great to hear. Dave also said the hose did not need to be repaired at this time but maybe in the future it would be a good idea. Dave completed the service on my boat, installed new batteries, replaced a surge pump and it's running great. I am pleased and feel lucky to have an honest boat mechanic That's not trying to rip me off every turn that they can. Daves Marine could have easily told there were things wrong with my boat that weren't ( surge brake parts, hoses, etc) and I probably would have paid to have them repaired. I love spending way less than I expected. Thank you to Dave and his wife for being such an honest business. Daves Marine has a lifetime customer as long as I live in California.

Originally we were booked for a 10:30am tour that goes out to watch the sea lions out on the bay, unfortunately not enough people booked that one so it was cancelled. Even though our original plan was cancelled Tiki Time Tours went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience and not only complimentary upgraded our tickets to a more expensive tour, they also gave our party a free round of drinks for the inconvenience! I think this speaks a lot about a company; anyone can be happy with customer service when everything goes according to plan, but the most important times to step up is when plans get cancelled/changed and that's exactly what they did for us! Instead of the sea lion tour we ended up doing the Tiki Live! tour at 3pm. This tour is about 2 hours and while you're out on the water you mingle with everyone else and play games that can win prizes for yourself, your party or the whole boat! The games were fun, interactive and silly. At some points we got close enough to shore and made people on land be a part of our games! Donny was our tiki tour master and he was really funny during the whole tour. In between games he just let the music play so we could enjoy the atmosphere and drinks. My entire group left with nothing but great things to say about the whole experience. My friend even won a free tour for another time so we will definitely be returning for more tiki fun.

If you are sensitive to getting seasick, I would recommend a Dramamine beforehand. Although the boat was spacious, it still felt the wakes from the other boats and you can go rocking. In addition there were slow times of moving and turning. Or you can just chuck down a few drinks and feel numb to it all! They have a Tiki Bar with a drink menu (no food) to purchase from and if you bring snacks to eat - you can't eat it on the boat. Drinks were good but their "house" made shots were pretty good! We had a couple rounds of those while on tour - paid round by a passenger or a free shot in the house by the staff. The awkward but not so awkward would be mingling with other folks on the boat that you don't know. One of my friends kept interjecting with another party and while they seem to not mind I could tell they were being polite but if it were me I'd probs be annoyed if someone kept interjecting while I'm having a good time with my friends. The campsites are raised on a hill so the lake is barely visible. Even if it is, you are not allowed to interact with it except for fishing, so there is hardly a point. The sun relentlessly beats down on the ground, with the only shade being from sparse trees. The only reason this is not a zero star review (besides the app not allowing it) is for the staff, who were polite and very helpful. Never again.

We make the short drive up on Wednesday and spend the night before heading back home mid Thanksgiving morning. It is always a lot of fun. Bex family all love fishing and the lake provides ample opportunity. Stocked regularly with trout. They all caught their share. The spots are spacious. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The facilities and the grounds are clean and maintained. Prices are very reasonable. Besides camping, Lake Jennings offers boating (you can rent a boat or bring your own), hiking. There's on-site horseshoe pits too. If not camping, you can just spend the day if you want to. Lots of great picnic areas. We've always loved Lake Jennings. It was our favorite campground when we had our RV. We look forward to getting back into camping.
