While they were at it they reported a couple other items that needed attention. No hard sell just let me know what they found. They also prioritized what they found so the most important things could be fixed first. Then they asked to see it again a few days later to be sure nothing was loose or leaking. They appear to do good work and really care that it is done right. They finished the work a day sooner than they had estimated. Cost was competitive with other shops. I would use them again if I had a similar misfortune. A good place for car repairs.

After a failed transmission repair from another shop, I found Joe's transmission through the used…read morecar lot where I bought my car. Joe rebuilt my transmission, and had it finished in about a week. The repair had my 2003 Buick LeSabre driving better than when I bought it. Then about 10 months later my wheel locked up then popped loose when taking off from a stop light. I took it back to Joe and he found that a related part had failed due the the previous bad repair. Lucky for me it was covered by warranty. Joe honered the warranty and had my car back to me in a few days. Three years later both repairs are still going strong. If you need transmission work take your car to Joe's. He will take the time to fix your car properly and have you rolling like new!

The owner, John, was very upfront about expectations, and said it could possibly be in the $2.5 to $4k range if another rebuild and expensive parts were needed. After he had a chance to take it apart to inspect, he determined the main problem was that it needed a new solenoid body. He replaced it, along with some other work, and the cost for parts and labor was a fraction of the initial rough estimate he gave. The best part is the T-Bird shifts great now and is a joy to drive again (I can put that V8 to good use now :) John was honest, fair and really knew what he was doing to get the job done right (and, as a side note, a really nice guy to deal with).
