I had a very uncomfortable experience at Dave White Chevrolet's service department. The area isn't clearly marked, which made it confusing to even figure out where to go. While I was still sitting in my car trying to figure out the entrance, a female employee stood nearby staring at me with a judgmental, unwelcoming expression. Instead of approaching to help or even offering a simple greeting, she just continued to stare. When I finally asked where to go, she pointed toward a door with a scowl and no professionalism whatsoever. Customer service should start the moment a customer arrives--even before they walk through the door. A little courtesy and basic kindness would go a long way, but unfortunately that was completely lacking here. This left a very negative first impression. I had the worst customer service experience of my lifetime with their service department. They were terrible with communication, and had my car for 14 days. They didn't even get the diagnostic done until day eleven. I ended up getting my car towed out of their shop since I was tired of dealing with them. I will never go back to them. I wish I could give zero stars. They wanted $1,500 for replacing the starter and the hood release cable. Unbelievable. read more

Took my truck in for an oil change they got it right and changed the oil and was gone in an hour. That's pretty good service.

I brought in my 2019 Chevy Trax to get my rear lights checked out because I either had a mob out or possibly a bad harness in the back. And they told me for $169 charge they would diagnose the problem and let me know exactly what was going on. Not only did they schedule me on a day that there was not an electrician in to look at my car even though they knew it was an electrical problem. But they had to keep my car overnight and they told me that my bulb was in the wrong place Somehow in all they had to do is rearrange the bulb for everything to work, but as opposed to doing that for the diagnosis fee, they charged me an extra $250 just to take out one bulb and switch it in another bulbs place lol. No Although I am not inclined to express dissatisfaction, I find it perplexing that a customer was charged an additional $250 for a service that could have been performed in a matter of seconds. Given that the replacement of a single bulb requires minimal effort, it is unreasonable to expect an exorbitant fee for such a simple task. Had I not paid the excessive charge, the service would have been performed correctly, and I could have completed the task myself. However, unfortunate circumstances intervened, necessitating the return of the vehicle, resulting in a triple charge. Furthermore, I informed the service center that my back left tire was running low and was causing the low tire sensor to malfunction. Despite my request, they only filled up the single low tire and neglected to address the remaining low tires. The receipt indicated that the service included an alignment check and a complimentary car wash. However, the car's condition upon return was indistinguishable from its state when I initially brought it in, suggesting that the service was not as thorough as advertised. While I appreciate the payment received, I believe that a comprehensive detailing service should have been provided, especially considering the minimal repairs required. read more

Stay Away!! this dealership and their service department is the worst I have ever dealt with. If I could give no stars I would but had to do one to make this review. There repairs they do are half ass and they double charge you for things they do not even do. I have had wrong parts on my vehicle, been without a vehicle for days while they say they don't know what is wrong all while you pay for a rental when your car is under original warranty. The service department is incompetent, rude and liars. I have never experienced such incompetence at a repair shop ever!! and they will do anything to try and make it a problem that is not covered under warranty, even if they have to lie to make you pay triple to them. I literally had them keep my car for days and do nothing, Had a rental and drove by every night after work the car sat in same spot and was not moved. Finally I took my spare key got my car and took it. I got no phone call nothing, they did not even know that I took it until I went there a couple days later and told them that I took my car and need my keys back. I've had numerous excellent experiences with this dealership. I still take my car there for repairs, etc and while the price is quite a bit more than other garages, the turnaround time and customer service, for me, make it worth it. Good folks and good products! read more

The worst service I have experienced for auto repair work. They told me the job would take 2 and a half hours to change the brake pads I was there for almost six. Noone came to check on me or explain that things would take longer they just left me waiting with nothing. Their customer service is trash. Immediately upon taking possession of my first Chevrolet ever (though it's pre-owned), I elected to take it to a competitor of Jim White Chevrolet because that other place is closer to my work and my home. I requested a very specific service --non-critical, not engine-oriented-- but something I felt had to be fixed for my ownership happiness and security for my belongings. At that competitor, the representative made two passive-aggressive insults against my car and where I bought it, and while making a quote for the service I requested, he cleverly upsold me on an idea that would solve my problem and two others as well, just for my convenience, but I was not able to afford his concept regardless of his sales logic. The next day I went to Jim White Chevrolet in Sylvania and spoke to Alexis in the service department. I explained my problem and requested what I originally wanted. She took my contact info, made a quote, we scheduled an appointment and I returned in a few days. The cool thing is --and this is the point of the story-- without any incidents or insults, the Jim White Chevrolet facility did exactly what I requested, came in at precisely 28.6 percent of the price of the other place, and their solution satisfied all THREE problems in a single day, not two (which the other place required-- who can do without their vehicle for 2 days for 3 times the price?) And THAT kind of treatment is what makes a loyal customer. read more

I took my Chevy Malibu 1LT to Dave White Chevy for an oil change (I had bought my brand new Malibu there a. few years back). My DWC Service Advisor got my car back to the service technician even before my appointment time (I scheduled it myself, online). My wait was very short. In less than 40 minutes after I pulled into the convenient drop off bay, my oil change and tire rotation was complete! (Face masks required in all areas, and CoVid protocols were all in place, they even disinfected my car's interior before handing me back the keys.) The price was terrific! One of the best oil change experiences I've ever had! I highly recommend Dave White Chevy Service Center for an oil change, and multipoint inspections. I know I'm going to keep using Dave White Chevy for service! You should too! read more

I wish I had seen these reviews 2 yrs ago before I bought my Pre Owned suburban from them needless to say I got burned. Catalytic converter failed about two moths after purchase took back knowing I had purchased the warranty. Found out the catalytic converter was not covered. But hey they're the good guys we'll replace it, you just pay the deductible, so I did. Truck ran good for about a week. Check engine light came on again same thing catalytic converter failed. took it back got it replaced mechanic failed to weld joint. Got it back failed again this time replaced (allegedly) the converter. Needless to say it failed again, when I picked it up this time was told it required the OEM part which they were not going to replace due to it's cost. So next test of patience was when the rear brakes locked up & needed repair. Charged a hefty fee which included charges for services not performed...which I found out much later after reviewing a photo of the work order I snapped prior to leaving. The one the mechanic fills out as work is completed. Also just a little FYI should you purchase a pre owned vehicle from them still...make certain the jack and tire change tool kit is still there. That's how it went so good luck dealing with these people. read more

I wrote a long review telling of my trouble with the service department of this dealership In response to a survey I was sent after my car was there. Suffice it to say that the problem was misdiagnosed, repairs that were done did not correct the problem, no estimate was given for what was done and they charged me 1800 in labor for what Chevrolets own repair manuals says is a 2-4 hour job. No explanation of what All the labor was for. Dave white responded to my survey explanation by saying they wanted more info and wanted to make things right, Yada,yada,yada. Gave them my info even though it was obvious who I was by the detailed course of events of my "repair". Since that time I have heard NOTHING! (Almost a month)What they said was bs for public consumption. imho they never intended to contact me and most assuredly never intended to address my complaint.From other reviews it seems I am not the only one with complaints unresolved. Take my advice and find any other Chevrolet dealer Unless you enjoy being ripped off. read more

They may have a catchy jiggle, but Dave White really is they place to go if you don't really need customer service. After having taken my vehicle there for the same issue that they failed to diagnose I went to Thayer in BG and they fixed it the first go around. Problem with Dave White is they are too big to care about you as a customer. They treat customers like it's and airport and you have no other choices as they speed you through their overloaded service department. They force you to work through a specific "customer service rep" who may or may not be too busy to pay attention to you and your phone call message. Lexi in particular is terrible at retuning phone calls. I've left no less than a half dozen messages with Lexi only to have to call again and NEVER getting a call back. This is exactly how to loose business to a smaller but much more responsive dealer like Thayer in BG. I know it's a drive to BG but if you really want to deal with the "place to go" do yourself a favor and don't bother with Dave White. Think Thayer. read more

This dealership HAS to be the worst ever. I hope Dave White reads. July 6 2019 Saturday .Me and my wife decide to take a ride to look at a 2018 Carbon65 Corvette. Yes 2018 This car has been sitting there for 756 days.The ride was fun there .So we get there , get out of car (drizzling rain) to look at this Carbon65 car outside for a while.No one comes out to help, no one looks out the window .We go in the dealership (1 customer .......1 ) and look around for HELP.No one opening door,water, how can i help,Nothing. So i introduces myself and he knows im there for that car.He asks a couple questions ,and so do i,blah blah blah.So i ask " the car was 81,000 whats it at now '' ''well it probably went up"...So i was searching for a quick amount on the car. NOT gonna give me a quick answer today and this Bill has NO FRIENDLINESS,NO KINDNESS,NO PERSONALITY AT ALL. Why he sells cars i have no idea(must be family member) He says ''i have 2 hours let today'' Give me your keys (for a trade in)(2015 corvette) He goes gets the vin # comes back.15 minutes i say ''any numbers yet '' he says ''No i cant get the vin to come up'' Well here we go this is gonna be a 4 hour ordeal. I wish I could leave a better review than what I am. At first, my experience was great and the salesman got me every car I wanted to test drive. I mentioned my dad coming to the dealership, to which the salesman became aggressive about how he does not let dads walk on him and get better deals than I was already getting. During the process of going over the numbers on a car I was very seriously considering buying, I was shushed by the salesman and he proceeded to raise his voice at me, a young female, stating that if I don't trust him I don't need to be sitting at his desk, his customers love him, and he doesn't need my business. I refuse to do business with a dealership that allows salesman like Lee Williams to talk down to young women and take advantage of whom he sees as vulnerable. Super disappointing how quickly my experience went from good to awful. I would not recommend this dealership, especially if you are a young woman car shopping alone. read more

They try to get your deposit, say they need a financing report before they will honor your deposit, and make you only finance through banks they get kickbacks from if you want to use your employee discount. Not sure I can trust this dealer when it comes to service/repairs. I took my 2006 Cobalt with 44,000 miles in for service because it smelled like it had a fuel leak and I know there were some recalls with the pump in these models and figured it may be eligible. First, I waited all day and didn't hear anything so figured I'd give them a call. Somehow they had a wrong phone number in the system which they had been calling. Which is odd since I gave them my number when I called to schedule the appointment. Anyway, the ladies you speak to here on the phones can be sort of rude and short sounding, as though you are inconveniencing them or something. The girl I did speak to about the repairs was named Alexis or something like that, she told me my cobalt had leaky fuel lines and would also require a fuel filter, she quoted me $850 and told me it also needed $750 for control arm replacment, I was speechless, for a vehicle with 44,000 miles kept in a garage most of it's life is a pretty extensive repair bill. I told her I was going to just pay whatever the fee is for diagnosis and get a second opinion she briefly mentioned something about "working with you on the costs" but that just made me more skeptical. I picked up my car before they closed and drove it to a friends house who has a lift and is a certified mechanic himself. It was leaking fuel from the fuel filter, but the lines were flawless and were not leaking anywhere, in fact, they were incredibly clean fuel lines, not a speck of rust even. Even my friend who says he's probably repaired 100 of these cobalts due to fuel line leaks above the rear wheel well was shocked at how clean everything was. No rust anywhere. A trip to AutoZone for a $20 fuel filter and about 30 minutes of labor and we were done. I fail to see how a dealership can keep good conscience telling someone they need to drop $850 because of leaky fuel lines that don't exist. Were they going to justify replacing fuel lines just because the filter needed replaced?? Literally, $200 worth of parts and labor and that is being very generous. Most places charge $130 at most for a fuel filter change. Now, the control arm they quoted, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the control arm either, bushings were in good shape and had a tiny, tiny bit of give but had no cracks or fading and simply did not need done. Also, I brought the vehicle in for a fuel leak smell, why even suggest a control arm replacement especially one that is no where needing replaced? I'm just really disappointed with Dave White and would urge anyone getting more than an oil change to get a second opinion. What do they think people will just buckle instead of paying the $105 fee? I mean even that feels like a rip off. Glad I didn't fold under the pressure, I spent less on the parts and labor to have my mechanic friend do it for me than Dave White charged me to simply look at it. Shady!! read more

After Al bauman of Fremont oh messed my first car up. I go to Dave White. My cousin is a dealer there and told me along with his supervisor that Al bauman is a joke. So my girl and I go to DAVE WHITE and all together that day we gave them 9k in cash that we got from selling our house but we also had negative rolled over from previous loan on one of the vehicles. We got these cars in December. Come January with txt to prove we let them know her radio screen and speedometer go out randomly. We even got a rental so they could "check it out". They told us nothing is wrong with the car. And that none of it will be covered. Today the Nissan still has the same issue. And the taurus won't even start now. I purchased a new truck here and when I picked it up it looked like someone took it mudding off road. It took 3 times back and forth to get it right. Then I received 2 free services with the purchase of my new truck. Only to find out that they only changed my oil and did not grease anything or rotate tires on my truck. Next free service they did not change my oil and just reset the oil percentage. Also charged me for a fuel filter and 70dollars for labor! Then charged me for topping of the fluids on my truck! Horrible customer service! And they do not properly service vehicles! They cut corners on everything they do! Run! Don't buy here! read more

I bought a car from Dave White in May. I took it back two weeks later for service and they couldn't find anything wrong. Next time it rained the car still had the problem so I took it back because Midas told me I had a bent axle. I was quoted $1600-$1700. I was sold the car this way. The first time they called they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it, called me back later and said they put in on a lift and found the problem. After I told them they sold it to me like that Tyler said he would talk to a manager the next day. The next day he told me that they would not cover it because I must've gotten into an accident. I never got an accident. Dave White is shady and I will never recommend them to anyone. read more

I can't even justify 1 star for these guys. I had a check engine light come on while I was on my way to Georgia from Michigan. I stopped off at my Grandson's home in Sylvania and he had the equipment to check the problem. He came up with either a bad injector or sensor on exhaust. I called Dave White and they got me in to see what the check engine light was about. I told them what my Grandson had found and the girl acknowledged it. But she said that they came up with something completely different. They said it had to do with the feul filter and feul lines. I knew it had to be fixed for the trip so I said to go ahead. The quoted price was around $850.00 but I thought I had no choice so they took it in. When I got it back, the cost was a lot lower but still about $585. I left for GA. again and had the check engine light back on long before I got to my destination. I had it checked again at a different Cheverolet dealership and found out that it was the exhaust sensor and it was under waranty so it cost me NOTHING! I'm pretty sure that was why Dave White said it was the feul lines and filter. Because they knew it was warranty work and they wouldn't make much from this job. I waited two hours for scheduled maintenance, which I had an appointment for, and showed up on time for. The multi-point inspection is supposed to include lubrication of hinges, which I didn't see lubrication on. I brought it in for a rough idle and misfires and they told me they would fix it. $700 dollars later it wasn't fixed it was actually worse and they wanted me to spend another $1000 to $2000 more to fix. Service people are nice but the department tried pulling a fast one on me. My new(er) car was still under warranty and rear window defroster was not completely working. This wax first reported during a service visit while car was in the 20K mile range. The rear window needed to be ordered and this took months to come in. I had car in a couple other times for regular maintenance during that time and they kept telling me that it was still on order. Finally they called and told me that my replacement had arrived. But also informed me that due to my mileage (now over 36K) that the repair was no longer covered under my warranty. I called GM and told him and never heard back. Said i have to make an appointment even tho my car clearly does not run and needs to be looked at. I need to drop it off to be looked at and they said the will not look at it unless i have an appointment. so I have 4 free oil changes from GM for the purchase of my truck, and decided to try Dave white out for my 3rd FREE oil change. I was in for quite the surprise with their "customer service" when I came in for my free scheduled maintenance. They said GM just changed it where I only get 2 free oil changes and wanted me to dish out $85 when it should've been free. I said that when I bought the truck they said 4, so it doesn't matter what they changed it to now. nope, won't honor it but Clift gmc in Adrian will. I trade my truck in every 2 years and this September is about that time! definitely wont be looking here! read more

I bought my 2016 equinox here and my salesman was great. Now my cars check engine light is on and keeps cutting off in the middle of traffic nobody wants to be helpful. I have called more than five times and also left messages for Lisa so that I could make an appointment and have never received a call back. I have never been treated so badly. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a dealership. I also have a car through yark and they have offered to check my car out, it's a shame that Dave white would treat their customers like this. Went to Dave White on Monroe and experienced the worst customer service ever walk around the lot for a half an hour and no one inside or the two sitting outside on the golfcart acknowledged me or my wife. They were not busy and we were the only car in the lot and there were no customers in side. I dont know if it was beacuse I'm black and my wife is Hispanic but it sure felt that way. I advise anyone whos in need of a vehicle purchase or test drive do not come to this place. Here's too many dealerships in the small city of Toledo, you would think the salesman would be fighting for our business. If there to good to help me the money I work hard for is to good for them. This was one of my best car purchases ever. Bill Harler was Very down to earth, low pressure. Picked some cars. Crunched rough numbers, then test drove my choice. The numbers were all laid out in front of me, msrp, gm employee discount, rebates, taxes etc. Line for line. Even the sales Manager stopped by the desk and said hi while I was just looking looking. So I took my truck in to get a headlight replaced that had water in it. I did not expect them to have the part so they ordered it and I came in for a second time to get this installed. They installed the headlight that time but forgot to order the trim pieces. So I had to come back for a third time. I came back the third time and they only ordered two of the trim pieces. So I had to come back for a fourth time and I did. When I came back the fourth time they forgot to paint the trim piece so I had to come back I fifth time. So I did. They painted the piece the wrong color the fifth time and I still don't have the piece installed on my truck. I wonder if this is ever going to happen? read more

I just purchased a new truck from Dave white Chevy. David Livingston was great to work with and made the experience painless.

My situation was never able to be fixed by this location. Ultimately had to take it to a mechanic and got it fixed correctly, in a very short amount of time, and for less than half of what paid for the incorrect fix that they tries to pawn off on me. I ultimately ended up trading this vehicle in at another dealership because of all the problems I had with it and the dealerships bumbling attempts to try and fix it. Avoid Dave White and the GMC Terrain unless you have a lot of free time to spend in their waiting room. read more
