I honestly can't say enough good things about my experience with Brown Honda, especially Zak. My car was tragically vandalized, and to be completely honest, I was not ready to buy a new car. It was something I never expected to have to deal with, and the whole situation was stressful enough without adding the pressure of buying a vehicle. From the very beginning, Zak made the entire process so much easier. He is not your average pushy car salesman who tells you whatever you want to hear just to make a sale and then leaves you wondering what the heck you just agreed to. He also didn't make me feel like I was a dumb female who he was gonna "get one over on". He actually took the time to listen to what I wanted, what I needed, and most importantly, what I was comfortable spending, and stayed within that budget. He never tried to push me over my budget or talk me into something I didn't want. Instead, he genuinely cared about finding something that was right for me and my family. He also took the time to go through all the bells and whistles in the car with me. He explained what everything did, how to use it, and even showed me how to change different settings. He didn't just hand me the keys and send me on my way. He made sure I actually understood my new vehicle and felt comfortable with it. And honestly, that made a huge difference. I did not leave the dealership regretting my purchase or wondering if I had made the wrong decision. I left feeling confident, comfortable, and genuinely happy with the vehicle I chose. After such an unexpected and stressful situation, that feeling meant a lot to me. Zak made the whole experience feel personable. We joked around, talked about our families, and somehow buying a car during a situation I absolutely did not want to be in actually became a really positive experience. I cannot recommend Zak enough. If you're looking for someone who will actually listen to you, respect your budget, answer your questions, take the time to explain things, and treat you like a person, honestly family instead of a paycheck, go see Zak at Brown Honda. He has truly earned my business for life, and when I'm ready for another vehicle down the road, for my kids or anyone looking, he will absolutely be the first person I call and recommend. Thank you, Zak, and thank you Brown Honda, for making a stressful situation so much easier. read more

Horrible place to buy a car. Johnny was unprofessional and rude. Regret coming to this place give your business to a company that deserves it. Sold me a car with dry rotted tires, covered them up with tire shine. Absolutely horrible people. Save your hard earned money for another company. Update- Manager called me. Rude, disrespectful. Called me an unhappy person. Highly recommend chosing another dealership. Issues we have had. When vehicle was purchased the dealership wrote into the contract that the car would be tinted. They attempted to not pay and the manager said this was not the deal even tho it is written into the purchase of the vehicle. Vehicle has dry rotted tires. They refuse to rectify issues even tho they lawfully cannot sell a vehicle in the state of Ohio with unsafe tires. Johnny the sales guy who sold us the vehicle was very rude. Made us jump threw hoops and thought we were trying to scam them. I was supposed to be the main signer on the loan. They switched me out with my Co signer, making me the co and my co the main signer. Car has a bad battery. Dealership failed to inform me that even tho they sold me a car with a factory warranty, it can't be serviced by them. I have purchased 20 plus vehicles from dealerships in my life and this tops the worst experience I've had. Do not use these guys. read more

My husband and I found a car that we were interested in buying. Went to Brown Honda on Central Ave. A saleswoman walked over to the door as soon as we pulled into our parking spot. Some people would appreciate the immediate attention. Me, not so much, but I guess it is better than being ignored. She greeted us and asked what brought us in that day. We told her what vehicle we were interested in, and she suggested we take a test drive. After the test drive, we liked the car but not the saleswoman. She was not personable at all and is one of those that just stands there and doesn't give you the privacy you need to discuss things. She reminded me of Edna Mode from the Incredibles minus Edna's intelligence and cool job. So, before we left, we politely accepted her card, but when we called Brown back, we talked to the sales manager instead. I explained that we had test driven a car that we would like to purchase and asked what the bottom line would be as far as cost. He told us that a cash deal doesn't benefit him, because he actually gets a kickback from banks and that because of the money he had put into the car to sell it, the sticker was the bottom line on it. The manager also made sure that we knew how competitive his pricing was too before we got off the phone. Even though we hadn't had the best experience thus far, I emailed the manager when we returned home and told him that we would be willing to pay the sticker price out the door, but that if he wasn't willing to budge, we respected his decision. We also sent him screen shots of the Blue Book trade-in value of the car vs the dealer's price. (We really wanted the car.) He came back and said that we would have to pay the tax, tag, and title fees, and that the screenshots justified his asking price. That is when he lost his sale. I didn't even waste my time responding. Clearly, the guy was more focused on proving himself than selling a car. Had he respected our position like we respected his, he would have made a sale that day. He could have moved even the slightest on the price, and we would have bought the car. As a sales MANAGER, he should have been able to capitalize on such an easy opportunity. But because he was only concerned with proving he was right and we were wrong, not only did he lose the sale, the dealership lost loyal customers. I would not buy a car from Brown Honda after this experience, and judging from the on-line reviews I read afterward, a lot of people feel the same way. read more

I leased my vehicle here. The lease process was fine. However, after my lease ended and I purchased my vehicle it was involved in an accident. I brought it to the body shop to have repairs quoted. The maintenance man hardly looked at the vehicle, told me in would be several hundred dollars and that I had a crack in the front bumper and it should be replaced. I asked him to point out the crack, as it was something I had not noted. He continued to point at a small mark, paint transfer...I told him it was not cracked. Yet, he insisted it was and refused not to include the bumper in the quote. Not friendly to young women, as they believe you don't know what you're doing and will just go along with what they say. I had repairs done somewhere else for half the price. The bumper was also checked and they found no damage and no need to replace it. Stay away from Brown Honda body shop. read more

We went to Brown Honda to look at a 2025 Honda CRV-EXL for my wife. She had called the Costco Auto Program and was given an authorization #, and the name of the salesman at Brown would handles the Costco program. His name is Johnny Grimmett. That's who we met with. We took the car for a test drive and asked Johnny to show us the deal that we could get. He worked up the numbers and said that the Costco discount was $1,975.00, however, we would be required to purchase a protection package, covering paint and the interior, for $900. I decided to trade in my wife's 2018 Honda CRV-EX, which was exceptionally clean, and only had 29,000 miles. Johnny said that the trade in would be $18,000. I had looked it up on Kelley Blue Book, and they listed it for $18,500. I decided to trade it in to get the sales tax exclusion. Johnny also prepared a cost sheet on Costco letterhead which clearly showed the trade in as $18,000. I have asked Johnny for a copy of this sheet, and he refuses to send it. We went ahead with the deal and were turned over to the finance guy, Derek. First, he high pressured us for about 20-minutes to purchase a mechanical protection package. We would say no, and he persisted by trying to sweeten the deal. We finally said NO, and he moved on to finalize the paper work. This is where the classic "Bait & Switch" occurred. I thought that the deal was set, and so, I let my wife sign the papers. It was a week before I saw them because Derek insisted on holding them until my check cleared. When I finally picked them up and took a close look, Derek had changed the trade in from $18,000.00 to only $16,735.00. He said that he calculated the sales tax exclusion on the $18,000., and subtracted that amount from $18,000.00. Further, he tried to tell me that our effective trade in was $18,000.00. What a bunch of BS! At no time was this trade in fiasco discussed during the negotiations. I could go on, but let's just say: AVOID BROWN HONDA. We not only didn't save any money with the Costco deal, we actually ended up $190.00 in the hole. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE read more

Very unprofessional in both service on the vehicle and customer service. When my wife took her 2014 CRV in for an oil change as she has for 10 years since we bought it there. She was then told that they broke off a lug nut while rotating tires. They charges her $150.00 for something they broke. I stopped in the following Monday to talk to the manager which I was told he was too busy and he would call me when he had time. I got a call 5 min after leaving. I discussed the issue with him and explained how two other service centers felt the cost was extreme since they did all the service for 10 years. The manager first told me they didn't break it. I ask if my handicapped wife walked out with her walker and did it. He said it just happens due to the age of the car. He then proceeded to tell me about steel studs, I stopped him to let him know I own a tool and die shop and have been certified in metallurgy and told him if the nut was over tightened this would happen. Again he said they didn't do it. He also tried to bring up the fact that she got a free $80.00 oil change. Free? It was only because we have used them exclusively that we earned a "free" oil change. At this point I ask how about splitting the cost. Without hesitation he said no. I also explained to him that we are getting to the point we would like to replace her car and if he thought it was a good idea to handle it this way. He again said he wouldn't do anything about it. I let him know I would be putting a review on social media also. His responds was go ahead and we are done here, followed by a click of the phone from hi end. read more

We finally received the car January 27. We had placed a 500$ deposit on the vehicle. When we arrived at the dealership to pay for and receive our new car we were told the price had increased $689! The paper we signed was meaningless! We were told that the price for all Hondas had risen by 2% starting January 2022. But We ordered the car in November of 2021! One of the things they do at Brown--when they want to sell you tires--is talk up their "great" warranty. "Full replacement for two years!" But what if I can't get here? I live in Illinois. "Go anywhere they carry this tire and just let us know." That's precisely what I needed to do when a tire failed on Sept 4 (Labor Day) and I let them know the next day, providing the original receipt and replacement receipt. I was connected with Marc Adkins-Fixed Operations Director. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to get a timely response from Marc (a week or more each time I reach out). First he sends me to the insurance company. They said he needs to do it. I inform Marc and now the time just flies by. Oct 20 I'm told we have pre approval and I'll be reimbursed as soon as funds are released. It's now Nov 15 and I've just been told the claim is denied because I didn't get the service done at Brown. Mr. Adkins and his employees don't know the product they're selling to the point they're going to waste my time for two and a half months. I doubt anyone cares. I'm not usually the type to write a negative review however, the way I was treated at Brown Honda on Central Road has been a horror. I messaged my car dealer (Johnny) about an occurrence that happened with my Honda CRV 2022. (I left my car sit for 3 days during some of the hotter days this summer. I come out to my car to find my car had bubbled and melted.) Johnny told me to come in and ask for Patrick at service express. So I did, Patrick was very nice and said that his service spot couldn't help me to go to a different building and ask for Jonathan (Jon). So I did, this is when things start to take a turn. Jon was so rude to me, acted as if I was a bother to him. And then proceeded to say I was the reason for my car to bubble and they wouldn't pay for something that I spilled on my car. Immediately I responded with I didn't spill anything in my vehicle and I don't understand how I was forced to buy a $3000 warranty on my new car when nothing was covered. (Some may think how were you forced? I got told I would not be able to buy my car without the warranty and that's what they do on all new vehicles) Proceeding my encounterment with Jon, a manager name Mark adkins appeared. I was upset and frustrated I just got blamed for something I didn't do that I had a stern tone with Mark. Mark told me to calm down and to not talk to him like that. (Mind you I was NOT yelling, or saying rude things, I just had a stern tone) Remembering to respecting my elders, I decided he was correct, it was Jon who blamed me not Mark. After talking to Mark about my vehicle and him examining it. Mark tried to say it was the products I use to clean my car (Armor). At this point I realized no matter what I said they were still going to believe my car bubbled on self error. So, I didn't try and explain myself anymore. I decided to apologize for how I approached things earlier. Instead of Mark accepting my apology, he decided to belittle me. Mark acted and spoked to me as if I was ignorant to the mechanical part of a vehicle. He didn't seem to like when I mentioned my brother in law being a mechanic because I knew how things worked, "under the hood". When I called him out for treating me this way, He tried to explain that 70% of his clientele are women. After he was over the conversation he walked away without a word. I didn't know if I should follow him or what? He never said goodbye, not have a good day, nothing. Simply walked away as if I was beneath him. I could tell his masculinity was showing. After I left I had a anxiety attack and couldn't even drive on the road, replaying how poorly I was treated over and over in my head. Just in disbelief a man would speak to me the way he did. This is why I usually don't go to car dealerships or anything on my own. Anyways, after I could gather myself I decided to call my Father. He called up there and asked to speak with the owner. He was told he'd get a call from the owner yet still hasn't received one, mind you this was 2-3 weeks ago. I personally will NEVER go back. And lastly, I hope Mark doesn't treat his mother the way he treats his clients. read more

Very unhappy with this dealership. Bought a car that needed service. Mark and branch worked well at getting someone to come get the car and return it after being fixed as it was over 3 hour drive one way. I was nice and filled the tank for the person however they returned my van with under 1/4 gas costing me 29.50. Along with multiple chips in my paint that were not there! Brown Honda's service department is top notch. I took my car to them with a problem with my steering. I didn't have a firm idea of what was wrong other than the car was wobbling. They could have over sold me a bunch of unneed things but instead just rotated my tires which solved the problem. This is not the first time that they just repaired what was wrong without over selling uneeded items. Granted they are a little more expensive than Bob's garage, but they know what they are doing. They also keep track of service done to my car and make "reasonable" recommendations on how to keep my car running right. read more

What ever you do stay away from this corrupt dealership! I'm going to be reporting this place to the Attorney General! They sold a 2020 car that cost almost 40k and a few weeks later my insurance company said my car insurance was going up over 250.00 because it's got a title that is salvaged at one time and rebuild it! What I was never ever told that ever which come to find out against the law! So the airbags in my brand new car don't work and come out of work and the back bumper fell off! When they slapped a new bumper on they didn't properly screw the big screw on. Take the car back and they said they can only resell me another one that costs five thousand more and it's a truck and bring two more thousand after I already brought four thousand dollars! I said no and agreed to a different car because I had to have a car and couldn't drive the one with no airbags when I just wanted these people to return my money and have zero to do with them because they are corrupt and dishonest and I think this boils down to being negligent on a criminal basis sending me off with a car with no airbags and not disclosing that there was a wreck and a rebuilt title. I spent over six hours waiting for a financing so I just had a feeling something doesn't seem right so listen to your gut! It should never take that long to get financing and what I think happened is that they were doing some unethical shady deals behind the scenes!!! Stay away they have taken me for over forty two thousand and imagine after all the interest? read more

Let me start off by saying I wouldn't recommend Brown Honda to MY WORST ENEMY!!!! It's been a nightmare from the beginning. The first Certified Pre Owned 2019 Civic I purchased ended up having been in 2 accidents that were NEVER DISCLOSED to me. After the fact I found out that I was supposed to be given a Carfax report, but never was. Car had several issues. They agreed to buy it back from me. I traded it back into them with the understanding that I would not inherit any negative equity. That was a lie. I ended up purchasing a 2021 Civic as I wanted a vehicle that I knew the history of. All was well for about 500 miles. My infotainment unit went out. I took the vehicle in to the service center. I was told it shouldn't take long, so I decided to wait. 6 hours later, I finally was done. I demanded to talk to a manager. I got to talk to a manager alright. One of the most condescending jerks I've ever encountered. I believe his name was Mark. He proceeds to start telling me how my aftermarket alarm was going to void my warranty and all this hoopla. Mind you, the vehicle has less than 1000 miles!!! They offered to get me a rental so I agreed. They had my car for almost a week and put 15 miles on it AFTER I asked them not to drive it. They eventually found that it was a loose wire from the alarm that just needed to be snapped in. While they had the car though, they pulled out the screen which also requires removal of the climate controls. Well, when they removed that, they scratched the crap out of the surrounding area. Then, to top it all off, they parked my car under a pine tree, so I spent a good 5 hours trying to clean off sap!!! THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR!!!! I went back and demanded to speak to a manager. The owner, Drew Hamilton came out. I showed him the damage caused by the tech and he said he'd see what they could do. I began telling him how the whole experience had just been foul and instantly became a complete prick. No apologies for all the crap I'd been through. Instead he starts berating me and talking down to me as if I were a child about how they had to do this and that and it's all my fault because I had an aftermarket alarm installed. Maybe if Honda didn't put worthless alarms on their vehicles, I wouldn't have had to. So sorry I don't want my car stolen!!Regardless, it ended with me telling him exactly where to go!! Between the rude, lying people who work there, the service techs who just don't give two craps about peoples cars and an owner who is just a walking piece of crap...WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! There are other Honda dealerships. DO NOT SHOP BROWN HONDA!!!! read more

I went to Brown for a routine oil check knowing that with a coupon, the fee should come to $50. The gentleman who signed me in, Jonathan, suggested a $20 wheel rotation. I assumed this, to some degree, was an unncessary upsell, but I drive a lot, so I figured, why not. The service was completed quickly while I sat in the lounge plugged into my noise cancelling earbuds. (Why do all waiting rooms subject patrons to television news? Quiet should be the default position; we all have phones now if we need news/noise.) When I went to pay, I notice a $2.90 charge had been added to my invoice for "shop supplies." What's this? I asked Jonathan. "Oh, it's just a standard fee," he replied. "No one mentioned it to me," I said. "Everyone does it," he responded, implying he was just the messenger. "It's wrong," I said. "I don't make the rules," he shrugged as another of his colleagues said even he had to pay it "and I work here". This is a frustrating and untransparent practice on the part of Brown and, if what I was told is true, other dealerships that charge a similar fee. I realize business across America scams consumers with hidden fees; it's a new American (and probably global) way of doing business, but that doesn't make it right. Had Brown not charged this paltry, but unnecessary fee, I would have awarded them five stars, but I'm dropping two for lack of transparency. Do the right thing, guys. Just because you can (get away with a tiny scam) doesn't mean you should. read more

The most inattentive, lazy, half-assed service department I've had my car at. Save your time and patience and go to Jim White if you must grab a dealer. Maybe it's because there are only two legit Honda places in the area, or a string of bad luck. I've taken my car there for 3 different levels of service: Express Oil Change, Faulty Light, Power Sunroof problem, and each time I walk out more frustrated. "Express Oil Change" even with an appt. took 45mins. It took myself confronting one of the service reps on "where's the car?" only to find that it had been sitting in the parking lot while the tech's were having a break. When I went in for a problem with the roof they commented that they didn't have the "allocated capacity" (arn't they a service shop that's supposed to fix things?) and suggested a home brew quick fix which only made things worse. Okay, so a little backstory. I was recently in a pretty bad car accident, the same day I got a new job. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a dealer that would work with me and my extremely unexpected job transition. Obviously I needed a car to get to this new job, and Brown Honda not only met, but exceeded my expectations in making this happen. The sales staff was friendly, and the financing guy was only somewhat intimidating. (Let's be honest though, the financing people are ALWAYS scary, this guy was significantly less threatening than most.) I ended up getting an amazing car at a pretty good price. I shopped around and the offer I received at Brown was lower than other dealerships in the area. I didn't get that regretful "I should have bought privately" feeling, because I am confident that should any problems arise, Brown Honda will resolve them with little hassle. You won't feel pressured into buying an expensive car, the salespeople are realistic and actually ask you what YOU want, then do what they can to make that happen. Within the same day I was able to get a fantastic car at a decent price, and can now drive to my new job feeling safer than ever knowing that my car was made after 2010 as opposed to 1999. I cannot recommend this dealership enough. read more

Had my worse experience with the service dept. Very rude. I had a computer chip go bad & it took 6 1/2 mths go get my car back. It sat on the west side of bldg. I called several times & asked questions. Like will my tires dry rot when sitting there in the bitter cold & extreme heat, they told me "no". Well, I just had to purchase 4 new tires due to dry rot. I paid for a battery when this all started, made a claim with HQ, won't pay a cent. Also, I personally had to pay for 3 wks of a rental, still they won't pay me, but they did after those 3 wks. Once I picked up my car & came home to empty the back, a taillight was broken & hid under the blankets I had stored back there. I went into business myself & asked why it said the part was released but it hadn't shown yet. He laughed at me. I made a comment "you probably used it on a family/ friend car", again he walked over & told the parts dept what I said & started laughing as I walked away. When I finally picked car up the service guy said hope to see you soon. My response never again. I can't get HQ to respond to my emails. Worse experience I ever received from any company.
