Buyers BEWARE I have purchased a lot of vehicles thru out my lifetime and I have to say that my experience this week at Dave Sinclair Ford is by far the worst!!! My son has been in the market for a new to him truck. We have been looking for almost 6 months to find a truck that not only fit his budget but also had a few of the important features.. We had visited multiple small dealerships and private owners with no luck. I finally told him we would only focus on larger local Ford dealerships with a good reputation. I named off a few including Dave Sinclair, my wife and I had purchased a few vehicles in the past from them. On Monday March 15th, Dave Sinclair posted a 2015 F 150 at a price of 28,995.00. My son called and talked to a salesman (Joe) about the vehicle, the truck was everything he was looking for. Joe told my son he couldn't hold the vehicle without a deposit(understandable) so I called and put a deposit on it sight unseen. I told Joe we would be in on Tuesday at noon to view the vehicle, Joe said he would meet us on his day off but that they hadn't run the vehicle thru the shop yet, but we could come view it. My son and I get there at noon, view the truck, like what we see, what to proceed with the purchase only to find out from Joe and his sales manager that they are raising the price on the truck to 32,995.00 4000. 00 PRICE GOUGE in less than 24hrs. after remind you that we put a deposit on it.. It gets worse, after we leave the dealership my son and I talked and we decided to check with them and see if they would sell us the vehicle without any warranty what so ever only thing we wanted was a safety and emissions inspection . We contact Joe and he text me the final "out the door" price with all fees included of 29,797.00 We agreed to pay the new price and told Joe we would be there Wednesday at 530 to pickup the truck. We were pre approved and I contacted Joe to have him send me a buyers order to give to my bank so we could get the check.. Joe calls me an hour of so later and proceeds to tell me that his Sales Manager Fred Frosch has yet again decided they needed even more money from us "so they can break even" 750.00 More. Classic case of Bait and Switch!!!! My family will NEVER try to do business with this dealership again read more

CANNOT recommend Dave Sinclair Ford Service Department enough - they are AMAZING! I needed my car serviced before a big trip out of town for Labor Day weekend because the check engine light came on. Took my 2013 Ford Mustang GT to Dave Sinclair Ford after not being able to get an appointment anywhere else. They did not have any appointment spots either, but when I explained the situation to Dan Whittley in the service department, he told me bring it in and leave overnight and he would get it done. They called and kept me informed about what they found (the catalytic converter was bad & some other small parts), and luckily the converter was still under warranty. They got the job done and had me on my way on time for our trip. Went to pick the car up and wow! It was running great AND they had washed the car, including the wheels. Even though they are 30 minutes away from where I live, Dave Sinclair Ford has my service business FROM NOW ON. Great job, and they went the extra mile to take care of my family. read more

Not sure what happened to my first review- it has disappeared . Will see if this one post ! I needed a new car . I had 190k on my Ford Edge. Mike Q was more than helpful . I drove the explorer and the edge . Both 2022 . For me the Explorer was two big. And I loved my 2007 Ford Edge. I wanted a pearl white car. I was told they only had two. The one on the showroom floor and the one I drove. All the sudden a pearl white Edge appeared . I was also told the only way to get a new car with 0 miles was to order one . All the new cars they have on the lot are loaner cars and come with 500+ miles. To me that is not a new car. They give you No discount for selling you a new used car that someone else could of ran into the ground. Since they had the pearl white one show Up I decided to buy it. Mike Q took his time to go over the electronics. Tony in Finance was also very informative . I came back to deliver my old title and extra key and Aaron helped explain some more of the electronics to me . He knew all the answers to my questions and was very helpful . It was a long day got there at 11;30 left at 7:30 PM. My car was not detailed properly and there is overspray of some sort on my windshield that will not come off & a small chip on the hood . The windows were not cleaned and the car was lightly vacuumed . I do not think I will get over the fact that I paid this much for a used car and will always wonder how it was taken care of . I have been a LONG TIME customer of Dave Sinclair. When a single mother without help (Struggling). I went to old man Dave Sinclair (owner) and he made sure I received the car of my dreams and affordable. I have been dealing with Dave Sinclair forever. I have now a Ford Explorer Sport that is a 2002 that will not quit running. Also the sales and service are helpful. Very helpful. They are accepting to all people. ALL LIVES MATTER! All over the universe. Lady who wrote that about Dave Sinclair being racist- I think you need to flip it around and look at yourself. Blues Lives Matter flag was in support of our St. Louis Blues. I made an appointment for the Customer Satisfaction Program 19N08 to correct the shuddering of my car. When setting the appointment I asked for them to take care of any recalls. They corrected the the two recalls but didn't repair the 19N08. My car was not available for the day and now I will have to schedule again to have it repaired. I called after I realized they didn't complete the 19N08 and they said I should of looked at the service order when dropping it off. I made the appointment with Karen and it was for the 19N08 repair and any recalls. Justin was rude and has attitude, instead of just trying to correct the matter he was trying to make excuses and push the blame onto me. I've always been impressed with ford until arriving at Dave Sinclair Ford. I've now been twice. The first time I had an oil change and luckily checked my oil when I got home. The stick was dry. Took it back to ford and they apologized for the error. Gave one more chance and went back for a second time for an oil change. Set up an appointment and upon arrival walked straight to the counter. Three ladies were sitting there. One said hi and continued her work while the other two were chatting. After several minutes of waiting, a random employee noticed and came over and stepped in to help. It's sad feeling as if you're 'in the way'. I will not go back. read more

I took my 2016 F150 in for service and tire rotation. I waited 2 1/2 hours for it. A week later I notice a lug nut MISSING! I bought a new one and replaced and retorqued the rest. I found that they'd used an impact on them. You can't use an impact on chrome sleeved lug nuts. Needless to say all of them are mushroomed and out of each six only two were to Ford spec torque, the rest were loose. I bought the truck there and thought I could trust them with my $60K investment. Guess not. Horrible. I guess once they had my purchase money the service no longer matters. read more

Took my car in for an oil change and they threw in a free wheel rotation. During that rotation they noticed I needed new brakes and rotors. I opted to get the rotors resurfaced as they have a state of the art lathe for rotor resurfacing, this cuts down on cost due to not having to get the rotors replaced. The service was quick and the team was friendly, I will continue to bring my vehicle to Dave Sinclair Ford and I recommend you do the same!!! read more

So very disappointed! When Dave Sr was alive, I purchased 2 vehicles from Dave Sinclair and service was superb! So, when my grandchild needed a repair on her Ford, I told her to go to Dave Sinclair. We had previously taken the car in and 2 men in the service department told us what was wrong and how much it would cost to repair it. We made an appointment for the repair, took the car in, and, expecting it might take a day for the repair, we were prepared to come back the next day to pick the car up. Oh, no, we were told it's by "drop off" and that the appointment was just to get the car in, not to actually make the repair, and it would be at least Friday (3 days later!) that they might be able to get the car in. Now we are looking at next week to even get the car back. I asked why, and was told nobody wants to be a mechanic anymore, and there is a shortage and to just look at all the people sitting in the waiting room. He also started telling us that it might need this and it might need that. This is after 2 other employees there had told us what the part needed was. By this time, I really had to work hard to bite my tongue. When the transmission went out on my car, it took a lot less time to repair it, and the work was more extensive then what needed to be done to my grandchild's car. So we took the car to a repair shop I know of and trust, and the car will be ready tomorrow. No shortage of mechanics there and we won't have to wait a week to get it back! read more

DONT BUY! DONT WORK WITH TEHM! Let me start with the conclusion: Think twice before you work with them, they are NOT reliable. They PISSED me off SO MUCH that 1) I bought the car with 2K more from another dealer 2) Spend 30 mins to write this review. Here is what happened to me: I visited in-person twice, one for general information, one for test drive. I am pretty sure about the truck I want, but this is when the nightmare starts: The sales person is extremely hard to reach. He is slow in picking up the phone, sometimes doesn't text back, and never send the material I request on time. I thought they were a big dealer, maybe he is busy, which is understandable. Their price is fine BTW, so I decided to bear with it. It took 4 days to finalize some details, during which they told me "the car we discussed was sold" TWO times, so I need to pick a new car. (It turned out it wasn't sold, just in the loaner's program) Now, here is the highlight of the whole story: After 4 days' of waiting, talking, picking new car, waiting again, I decide to buy the car on Friday. We made a appointment at 10, so I can get out before 12 and get back to work. They called at 8:30, asking it might take longer than expected, so can I be there earlier. I left home at 9, they called me at 9:20 (I was almost there), saying I need to turn around and GO BACK HOME, because they need to GATHER MORE INFORMATION. What does that even mean? Now after 3 days, no explanations at all. I was trying to be nice and polite the whole time, now I just think they are intentionally messing with me. I don't know the reason. Is that because they are such a big dealer and they don't give a S about one particular customer? Or because of something else? People say the service begins, not ends, when you buy the car from a dealer. How can you trust them, work with them, for an expensive car when they treat you like this? read more

I had a good shopping experience in 10. What I'm here to crow about is the service department. I drive from the airport because I trust and appreciate this service department. They are prompt and thorough. They bailed me out of a "just out of warranty" crisis and when I sent a modest check to their charity, I received a hand-written thank you note from the family. They appreciate that our time is precious, too. I overheard the receptionist trying to book an appointment, she asked the phone client "What time is your dental appointment?". My wife's car has been with Dave Sinclair collision since July 22nd. They give no updates every time you call them they tell you we're hoping by the end of this week. They had to submit amendments to State Farm three times because they didn't know what they were doing. It will be four weeks tomorrow and the car still not ready when I talk to Chris who is the collision manager he said we're hoping to have it ready by the end of this week.Which is the third time I've been told that. Do not use this company they are a complete joke don't care about their customers and apparently don't know how to do car repairs because they told me all they have to do allowed to put the bumper on which they've been saying since Monday and it's gonna take them five days to do that. Do not take your car to them because you have no clue when you'll ever get it back they don't give updates like other record all companies do Unless call and bug them And when you do so they just tell you they have no idea they're waiting on parts for the fourth time because they couldn't properly diagnose it when they came in. The second time they told me they had to resubmit to the insurance company they said they saw a leaky oil pan which I have no idea why you wouldn't see that when the car comes in because liquids leak off the bottom of the car. Had service on my new 2015 escape on 9/16/2015. Call on Monday to make a appointment and was told that you couldn`t do a oil change and a recall on my car the same day. Recall was set for Monday the 21st. Brought car in on 9/16/15 for oil change . I waited 2 hours for oil change with no contact to service rep.After 2 hours I confronted service rep (MATT). All of a sudden the car was ready. He told me then they did the recall and that is what took so long. He should have let me know that was going on but DID NOT. So he said he gave me free tire rotation. which had given to several people while i was there. The quality of workmen shiop from the guys in the back was geat,but i was not happen with the customer service. read more

I don't regret my decision when buying my 2010 Ford Edge to have it serviced exclusively by the dealer. I had such a horrible experience having another mechanic business service my previous car that I wanted to give dealer service a try. I've always been greeted by friendly service reps when dropping my car off for service and my car is always done within a reasonable amount of time. Worst experience of buying a car in my life. The car stinks. Took it back twice and it still smells. They cover up the odor and it last for two or three days then the smell comes back. I guess they figure I'll get tired of coming back. Salesman looked me in the eye and lied to me. He said car didn't have a auto lock opener when you put your hand on the lock. Come to find out it was broke and they just didn't want to fix it. Finance department was horrible. I was put in a back room and felt as tough I couldn't get out until I agreed to a extended warranty. I kept asking how much it cost but was never given a total cost. At one point was called stupid for not getting a warranty. Very high pressure and don't give up until you agree to buy some stupid warranty you don't want. Same thing with some cloth protection. Very high pressure sales then they didn't give me touchup kit or paper work for it. I had to go back to get it. Was given a low ball offer on my trade in so his son could a great deal on my trade. I feel this group of people will squeeze every dollar they can out of you by any means possible. I will never have any dealings with Sinclair again. read more

Let me start by saying I'm a forty-year customer of Sinclair Ford, both buying several used and new plus always using their service department. Lately, the service, which always set them apart from other dealers, has taken a serious downturn with no reasonable explanation given. Currently, we have a car in there for service and a potential issue. They told us it would be 3 to 4 days before they could even look at it, but if we instead wanted to make an appt, it would be two weeks. For fear of the car actually breaking down, we left it. Well, after 4 days and no contact, we checked on the car only to hear it may not be looked at now for another two days. What? Was anyone going to let us know? Apparently not, as it seems that they think everyone has access to dealer plates and loaner cars like they do. Do you not realize people can't just rent cars for weeks on end and must make arrangements beforehand? The excuse of "Every dealership is swamped" is not cutting it. Somethings changed, and if the service isn't the deciding factor, then why should I be exclusive to your dealership. Others sell the same cars, and frankly, for the first time in my sixty year life, I'm considering other makes of cars, and we ARE looking. This is NOT the Sinclair Ford I grew up and got to know. read more

I had to take my 2014 Ford Focus in 3 times because the clutch was failing and it only had 31000 miles on it. The first time, at 15000 miles, I was told the failure wasn't significant enough, come back when it was worse. By the third time I took my car in to have the clutch replaced a second time I was told 'no problem, your car is under warranty.' I tried to explain to the woman on the other end of the phone that this was NOT warranty work, this was a manufacturer defect and I received a letter from Ford advising I have the TCM replaced. Her response, we 'it's ok, your warranty will cover it.' NO...IT'S NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE. I am so disappointed in this dealership that I traded in my Ford for a Chevy. I will never go back to this dealership or recommend them to anyone. read more

This review is so overdue!. I just got a call from their service dept saying we had a 10.00 credit and wanting us to make an appt. now that is funny. I bought a Lincoln MKZ with 13,000 miles. It literally was in service 10 times within the first 9 months. It has been towed to the dealership 4 times. In one of the visits I asked them to do an oil change and rotate tires. Tires were not rotated. I only hope they changed the oil. The original issues with the car still exist. A Lincoln rep was going to contact us and never has. They offered to trade my car of course for more money. I guess that's there" if it's not right we'll make it right" slogan at it's best. I was told by Dave Sinclair himself that when you buy a used car you are kind of like a " step child". Not kidding! So here we are with a Lincoln MKZ that when you put in park it makes a weird noise and when you turn corners there is sloshing fluid noises coming from dash. There's more but my fingers hurt! I've bought several cars from various dealerships, ranging from small independent dealers to bigger dealerships around st louis. I shopped for months for my last vehicle, trying to find the best deal. I found an ad for a great deal on the type of car I wanted so I took the trek out to Dave Sinclair. I have never seen a dealership so busy and it took us forever to be helped. But once we did those slick salesmen were all over it. We ended up buying the car, for (after huge interest rates, even though our credit is not bad) much more than we'd expected 6 hours later when all the paperwork had been written up. Okay, whatever. But the real problems came later. We've had nothing but issues getting our title, they filled out the paperwork wrong "accidentally" like 3 times. The title had a lien on it and was never even put in our name. All the dates were wrong on the papers. DMV has advised us to file a complaint. It's been almost a year since we bought our car and we still haven't gotten the title work done by their so-called "experts" in finance. Today will be our 4th time trekking to Lindbergh to get it worked out, this time we have pre-filled-out the paperwork on the advice of the dmv and all they have to do is sign. Hopefully we won't have issues with that. Desperately want to refinance this terrible deal and can't do it without this paperwork. I'm so sick of being robbed every month. I would never buy another car here as long as I live, no other transaction in my life has been more of a pain! read more

No service! Had an "appt" for a diagnose on Thursday it's now Sunday and they have not even started on the truck! I'm curious what the point of the appointment is? Another thing I wanted to mention about a year ago I had some parts serviced paid 499 for repairs and had to re do it all again myself with new parts, etc! This place is not reliable and I would not recommend to anyone! Last time I have car worked on in there and last time I purchase from Dave Sinclair! Worst part of this ordeal is im borrowing someone's vehicle while mine sits in their shop for no reason! Also last Tuesday when I called and asked to bring it in the lady that answerered said "we can't look at it for a couple days so I said when can u look at it lets make appt she makes appt for Thursday I go out of my way to bring it in and I'm probably gonna go pick it up tomorow AM which is now Monday and I wasted my time for no reason! The service really gone down hill. When John Sinclair was there the service was really good. No issues with anything and was able to get things fixed the right way. Now you can call to make an appointment with the service dept and be on hold for over 10 min the receptionist comes back to the phone and asks who you are holding for and then tells you the service dept closed at 7. Yep was on hold for the last 10 min and it just now is 7. I know it was close to cloaing time but still. Not thw first time this has happened. Guess i will be doing mg business elsewhere after having purchased my last 3 vehicles from here and having no issues now to multiple issues with getting service and now even making an appointment. Customer service is key and Dave Sinclair Ford has gone down hill. So sad to see this happen. read more

I had a $750 rebate sent to me by Ford. I had to order the car I wanted. When picking up car I questioned both the salesman and finance person to make sure the rebate would be honored and both said no problem. Well needless to say Ford Motor Co did not honor the rebate and Dave Sinclair Ford did nothing to rectify the issue. What's their motto "If it's not right we'll make it right free". Ha!! Apparently if it does not cost them. I plan on buying a new pickup, won't be a Ford and won't be from a Dave Sinclair Dealership. read more

On 3-11-3 went to Dave Sinclair Ford to look at a mini cooper it was snowing so i went in side to see if i could look at it and was greeted by Mr Sinclair he ask if i need help told him would like to look at the mini cooper he went and got a sales person he came right over . Matt the sales person was great . He cleaned off the car took it for a test drive after that made a deal. The worst dealership and customer service that I've ever seen! I was purchasing a 2011 ford f150 limited and I called my salesman (terry weir) several times to see if the truck was available and he said "yep still here with your name on it do u want to take a test drive". I said yes and to get my financing ready to purchase the limited. I gave all my information to terry and he said he walked it back to the finance manger to get me approved for the truck. I told terry I would be arriving at 5:30 on 04/25/2012 at the dealership to pick up my new truck. I arrived at the dealership and asked for terry and they paged him to the building. I stood outside and watched a salesman driving towards me on a golf cart. The salesman stopped at a white ford truck that looked similar to a limited and wrote down the stock number. He then got on his golf cart and drive towards the building. He got off his golf cart and walk by me and told me to wait he had to talk to the manger. At this point I figured something had gone wrong and that they sold the truck prior to my arrival. The manger walked out and terry and said nope the truck gone and was delivered last night. I asked the manger if he was sure and he said yep. The manger then tried to offer me another vehicle at which I was not interested in. The facts are that I called several times to confirmed my truck was still on the lot. I wasted my valuable time and gas money to go up there and purchase that truck. I would advised family and friends do not buy anything from Dave Sinclair ford dealership. I believe that his dad said if it not right we will make it right. I believe this was not the case today.
