The mailed results, which I never received, were the only form of correspondence I would have received. Thank God I care enough about my health to follow up. I guess once the claim was filed, I was just another number checked off their "to do" list. Others who attend this facility claim the doctor is "thorough". That may be the case but the staff is so horrendous that none of that really matters. A good doctor's office would follow up and explain the lab results, make sure you were aware of the proper next steps and schedule a follow up....you know, to monitor progress and make sure you got better. A terrible one would take your money, mail you test results that a normal person cannot interpret, and call the job done. You get the picture.

Location wise, Lakeside Medical Associates resides inside a building which houses other medical organizations which can help further your diagnosis, including Quest Diagnostics and Baylor Radiology. Nothing was better than being able to get X-rays done without having to leave the building. There are also other medical services in the facilities, including various pediatric care. So really, if you use Lakeside Medical Associates as your primary Adult care, they have other groups available for the whole family. So for anyone looking for a new primary physician, I would recommend Lakeside Medical Associates. The whole of the staff are skilled, personable, and professional. Everything I, or anyone, could look for in a Doctor.

He would even lament about how little doctors are paid. During my latest visit which was an annual exam, he came in, gave me an order for my blood test and it was done... I asked why he did not ask any questions, even the routine ones that were asked during such a visit , he became visibly irritated. The visit was proceeded with me asking questions (e.g. do I need certain shots) and him answering. He did not seem to want to be in the room with me... Not sure why we need a doctor who shows no interest in patient care. I would not give any star if I could.

Most clinics, you can't even speak to the doc, you normally speak to their nurse, but I ALWAYS get to speak with Dr K personally and she have the warmest heart. And let me tell you folks - I am picky when it comes to doctors. I don't think anyone that writes me a prescription and spends 10 minutes with me is awesome. I believe her to be the best because she actually enjoys her job, she does it well, she listens - YES - ACTUALLY LISTENS to my concerns, she is so genuine. She doesn't treat you like a number. I feel like I'm going to visit my older sister that has a medical degree, I don't feel like I'm asking a stranger who doesn't know me at all to prescribe me medicine for my body, which is very important, to digest. If you think about it, it's a scary concept. What do you know about your doctor to make you so comfortable to take anything they prescribe and ingest it? Please don't go to a doctor because they went to school and graduated. I graduated from Texas Tech and am now getting my masters at UTD...let me tell you I don't remember everything I learned from my classes, it takes effort to continue to learn and grow in my profession, as it definitely does in hers. I believe she is there because she has a passion for it, and she never stops learning and growing as a doctor. I appreciate that. She never comes in with a bad mood or different attitudes, she is always very understanding and sweet. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Sharp. Her nurse, Kimberly, is awesome as well. I love her nurse. She is just as amazing. I can't stand when nurses just tell you what to do, ask you questions, then leave...at least she is personable: she talks to you and is funny. First of all, the front office staff are rude, unfriendly, unhelpful, and unprofessional. I am specifically talking about the old lady that sits in the front window and the one who gives appointment on the phone. It could be that both of them are the same person but I am not sure. Front lady wanted to charge me almost $200 for our visit instead of $10! She started to argue with me but good thing I knew my benefits and did not come under her pressure. She then printed out the benefits and as she was about to show me how she was right all this time, she realized her mistake by herself and quickly end the conversation by saying, "Well, you can pay $10, but will send you bill in the mail if insurance doesn't cover." No apology, no remorse, no shame or anything like that. I was simply shocked with her behavior. Of course, no bill came in the mail whatsoever. Dr. Schochet came in the room and instantly handover his business card to us. I found this to be an odd behavior on why he would do that as he is already famous and a busy doctor. Extremely poor way to market yourself. We know who he is and where he is. If we like the service then we would definitely recommend him. What is the point of handing out the business card then? I felt like I was in a some kind of sales office instead of the doctor! During our conversation with Dr. Schochet, he would say random stuff that he think is funny. In fact, I realized that he just think he is funny and doesn't know the limit or when to stop, etc. Honestly, I found some of his statements along the lines of sarcasm and did not say anything because I wanted my daughter to feel better as soon as possible. Maybe that is why this doctor will say anything to take advantage? What I like about this doctor is that he would listen to you and answers all of your questions. He does rush and you have to be quick with your questions but you will get answers. I also liked that this doctor would not just jump into assigning medications but would like to try alternatives first if feasible. My daughter was referred to speech therapist and she recovered after 2 visits without any medications. This doctor and his office can do so much well with adjustment related to front customer service and bedside/office manners. Nonetheless, I highly suggest you to know your medical benefits before you visit this office!

His asthma was not well controlled until we started seeing Dr. Schochet. Upon our first visit, (almost 10 years ago), he put us on a proper maintenance plan and it changed everything. I cannot remember the last time we had to use a nebulizer. Dr. Schochet is thorough, professional, and takes the time to get to know his patients. We highly recommend him!
