We mainly came here for gas since it is cheaper than the average gas price in the area. We just happened to take a trip to the IKEA College Park location and we happened to be low on gas. Conveniently this gas station is close by, just across the intersection of Baltimore Ave and IKEA Center Blvd. It's also just off the Capitol Beltway, so if you ever find yourself a little low on fuel, you can take a quick detour for a fill-up. No complaints here so I'd recommend checking this station out. read more

I like this location. I never had any service done here so can't speak on that. I find that gas here is usually cheaper than most other Shells I see and other nearby gas stations. Yesterday regular gas was $2.52/gallon. I passed another Shell on Cherry Hill Road and it was $2.67/gallon so it's worth coming here. I drove a bit down route one and an Exxon regular gas was about 30 cents more per gallon. This is on my way to the metro station anyway so I'm not going out of my way to come here. I'm a frequent Giant customer so I definitely take advantage of the discount with my gas points! read more

Came here Friday night for wings and a quesadilla. Both were great and the service was even better. The young people working there were on point and helpful, and the person making the food confirmed the order and asked how we wanted things prepared. Better service than restaurants around here. I don't even eat fast food like that but will come back to try something else and grab a car wash. read more

I cant say anything positive. The location and how it is situated requires more than the novice driver to access. The shop is a antiquated. The selection poor. And today they only have premium gas to offer. No warning until you actually drive up to the pump. They could have turned the lights out on the other grades of gasoline. They could have placed a bigger sign as you drive up the the station. A minuscule sign at the actual pump is quite inadequate. I want 2 minutes of my life back. And I am a Giant Grocery Store shopper; so I come to shell to enjoy my modest discount. I come to the Shells in the College Park/ Beltsville area because usually they have a lower cost per gallon. Luckily the shell further north was able to accommodate me. No thanks to this place. read more

Last night around 11:40/ 11:50pm, i went to this shell at baltimore ave. in laurel, md across from the ikea and was treated very rudley by a clerk there who was an older man of possible pakistanian decent. He refuse to take my money because it was 3 one dollar bills and 91 cents in coins. He did not want to count the coins and said this a gas and refused count the change, i told him how much it was. i felt insulted and went to another gas station. This is for the gas, not service ( which I don't know about). Gas is a fairly routine transaction. We all do it a lot. But there are many ways it can be annoying and not customer friendly, most of which are completely avoidable. First, this Shell had NPR going over its speaker system. I was a little taken back as I have NEVER heard NPR while filling up. That wax nice -- i really hate those ad-news TV things that some Chevron stations have installed. Next, the pumps had the octane going from lowest to highest, left to right. I really appreciate that--too many stations have the basic gas sandwitched between their two premium blends in a deliberate effort to trick you into selecting the higher priced gas. This location is right off the beltways outer-loop. Zip-zip I was back in my car and on my way home. Easy off, easy on the highway. I had had a rough day and this basic, easy and frustration free transaction was much appreciated. read more

This is for all shells not just this one. I have noticed at a lot of shells the real price for gas with card (that most people use). Is hidden somewhere in a corner . So I decided to ask why and one worker told me that once he put it so people could see it when pulling and the shells owner told him to put it back in the corner and if he moves it again he would be fired . Went to gas up my bike here. The hose at my pump had a huge tear in it, but I didn't realize this until it was too late - it hadn't yet been shut down or marked as "out of service". It spilled gasoline all over my bike, and all over me. Very sketchy. Came here at 11:30 pm on a Thursday - lights were on and clerk was in the store but no customers allowed in. Tells you something! Less than 1/4 mile north is a Wawa open 24 hours and tons of people inside. I used to get gas here on my way to Baltimore but I never will again. This is really amateur team from cashier to oil change attendants. I wanted to change my oil and asked for the price, they told me that 80 dollars including taxes and then I came back next day and talk to the same person and even tough accepted that he said the price of 80 dollars his college wasn't happy that I was paying 80 dollars so they ended up not assisting me anymore :) and I couldn't change the oil which I was okay to pay for and I talked to the manager about the issue who seemed a nice manager but did not help me at all and most likely he wasn't even understanding what I was saying because of the English barrier. Finally they couldn't help me and made me wait literally more then an hour and of course I was angry but didn't want to argue with them, so I went to another closest oil change company which was "Valvoline" and they were done literally in 5 minutes and I only paid 80 dollars in total (Including the 11 dollars discount due to my previous business with them) And interestingly when I was waiting for the attendant some customers couldn't find the cashier to pay for the gas and purchase :) and left the station without buying the gas read more

Dash In - The worst gas station ever - Gas Stations Near Me - College Park, Maryland

You wonder why someone from Cleveland Ohio is writing a review for this Shell station in College Park MD. My catalytic converter broke loose from my muffler pipe while I was down there. Loud as heck! Just happened to see this place, pulled in and told them that I need to get back to Cleveland ASAP. I asked if they can at least "jerry rig" it. They took it in right away. Within 15 minutes, he had a patch on this and it got me home to Cleveland. This place is your typical "old school" repair shop with gas pumps, the kind of place you grew up with. Two of the gentlemen were from Cameroon (Africa), one from Bangladesh, one from India and one good 'ole American. What a bunch! They were friendly, funny, resourceful and got the job done, cheap for me. I highly recommend these guys to the people of College Park. read more

Only stop here if you're running out of gas. Terrible service and the prices are better down the road at WaWa. The expectations of a gas station are pretty simple: reasonably priced gas, easy pay, clean store. This one fails on each one. read more
