One of the great hidden gems you will ever find. Only open for Breakfast & Lunch but well worth the effort. We had the Bratwurst & the Reuben. The potato salad will ruin you for any summer get together. It's the finest potato salad ever made. Ever. The Reuben was excellent, flavorful w/out being greasy. The Bratwurst was very good, the gravy on the mashed potatoes was fantastic. The entire culinary experience was wildly beyond our expectations. Oh yea, did I mention they have desert? We debated between the Bread Pudding & the Carrot Cake...local customers swore by the Carrot Cake...so we got both! The Carrot Cake was very good, very large, but very good. The cake itself was moist w/out being heavy and the coconut on the outside was the finishing touch. It's very good. Now for the Bread Pudding...*(reviewers note: I consider myself a connoisseur, both of Bread Pudding & Tiramisu, so take that in to consideration). HOLY FREAKING BATMAN! This wasn't Bread Pudding...it was like eating butter-infused, sugar-spun air with a hint of pecan aftertaste. So light, so perfect. Not too sweet with just the right amount of caramelized nuts. Each bite just melted in my mouth, my eyes rolling back in my head, my senses engulfed with lightly spun sugar tendrils... Did I fail to mention how FANTASTICALLY AWESOME this was? It was all I could do to keep from licking the plate clean. It's one thing to make Bread Pudding that tastes good, it's yet another to make Bread Pudding with this magical of a texture. I have been apprehensive of coming here from my first visit a year back. And the same problem happened again- miscommunication. Ok, I can handle ordering a bratwurst lunch. No problem. But all I did is ask about Sauerbraten, and again, like last time, the waiter said that was what I was ordering. No, Bratwurst is not Sauerbraten. So I calmly repeated the question and this time the manager (I presume) cuts in telling me they were no longer serving breakfast, so I'd have to order something else...? Whatever. The Bratwurst lunch was pretty good. But all I did is ask about if they serve a certain German meal. No reason to get upset about it. I just came there to get something to eat, not pick an issue with anyone. I got something to eat for me and a friend (please see the reciept), since I'm not looking for an argument, I'll stay away next time. If you have difficulty understanding English, the local college does have a really good English As A Second Language program. Maybe look into that, I guess? I dunno. Score- meal 5 star. Surprise little gem in Spring City. I'll be fair and not deduct points (stars) for the wait since it was Heritage Day, but we did wait an hour and saw many parties our size get seated before we were seated (obviously friends/family perk). Menu is limited but everything we had was great. Mustard Dill Gravy was to die for! Pretty darn close to my favorite Ruben sandwich ever. Service slow! Like.....really slow, but pleasant. Wow! I moved to Salt Lake City in 1996 and lamented the food scene. With a few exceptions there was little going on here. Now that has changed and when it comes to business meetings I have choices. Then I discovered Das Cafe in Spring City. The food was amazing and a total surprise to me this far from "civilization". I had what may be one of the best omeletes I have ever had, thanks to the uber-fresh ingredients and the spectacular smoked bacon and sausage. Having problems with wheat I cannot speak to the breads, but they looked and smelled incredible. If you are in Sanpete county you have to go to Das Cafe for breakfast or lunch. If you are not in Sanpete you have to go out of your way at least once to give this gem a try. read more

So I travel a lot and have had three memorable rueben sandwiches...one at a little place in LA, the second in Sarasota and now the best here! Please make sure you get the potato salad...the best ever! It also doubles as desert as it's the last flavor you want in your mouth for the drive home.
