I haven't bought a newer car in a very long time.I had a 2005 Toyota Echo with zero problems and yes crank windows but no problems with it whatsoever. I always wanted a Mini Cooper which I looked at Minis and Fiat 500s online. In my sane brain I saw a Honda Fit at this dealership and decided to go there to check it out. Toyotas and Hondas are always good & reliable cars. I took a long time friend with me and when I showed her the Honda, she said 'that's what you want? It's ugly'. Then she proceeded to point to this red Mini and said 'that's more like you'. Granted I wanted a Mini but...I hesitated to get it. Hindsight being 20/20, I really should have investigated this car further before anything. The salesman knew I wasn't familiar with the full detail ins and outs of the Mini. We were there for quite a long time. Through my excitement about this car, I didn't ask a lot of questions because I wasn't aware of what makes up this Mini. The salesman didn't bother to show me what all the functions are on the dash. Unaware, I tested the wipers and a few other things not aware of the car's features and its computer..That would have been a good time for him to jump in and show me the buttons, etc. The salesman only had one key fob and suggested a reputable locksmith in Largo. He said this will be easy to do. The locksmith didn't have a blank key fob so he suggested to get one on any site. So I did just that but after the locksmith tried 3x to program the 3 new key fobs, it failed every time. BTW this locksmith is 40 miles back and forth from where I live. According to his computer that does this programming, there is something not right with the CAR'S COMPUTER! WTF? A Mini Dealership would charge over $250.00 for a key fob. On top of this disaster the passenger seat belt/airbag light is constantly on. I had to order a 75.00 sensor from the UK in order to fix this problem myself, because it would have been a $1500.00 FIX! By this time, I am getting more and more pissed off. Then on the tachometer a signal for a tire that is low. I had a reputable tire store chain look for this and then found nothing. Which leads me to believe there really is something wrong with the computer. According to the car's manual, I was supposed to do all sorts of things using the signal feature and the wiper features. For instance, there's a red triangle that has been there all along BUT following what the manual says to do, this task cannot be completed...must be the car's computer!! (SEE PHOTO). I took a ride over to the dealership after my 3rd and final trip to the recommended locksmith the salesman gave me. I told him that I am extremely unhappy about all the new but unwanted discoveries about the car. All I got was 'gee I'm sorry'. Needless to say an honest person should have at least offered some kind of monetary help to get another key fob. I didn't expect him to be able to address any of the other problems. I can tell he was just placating me at the moment. So basically the vibe I got from him today was 'it's now that you bought this POS, I'm done'. I seriously hate having regrets, this car just added itself to my long list of regrets. Dammit...I now refer to the car as 'The Money Pit'. I had to figure out and fix the wipers, they didn't work when I got it home. I had to replace the driver's side mirror in the sun visor. I had to pay a mechanic to fit the two side mirrors because the driver's side mirror got STUCK in a position that rendered it useless. My next unwanted project is to replace a sensor on the passenger's side seat. I think I miss my good old 2005 Toyota. read more

Worse experience ever. This company sucks big time. 5 months in have a ticking in the engine-valve issues, the 200 plackard on passenger side, has fallen off, the under carriage plastic from the bumper has fallen off, abs sensor comes on, tire pressure sensor comes on, the navigation system has not worked correctly -ever, You have to guess where you are going since it doesn't navigate, stops giving directions before you need to turn , was promised by Mike to have it replaced, no spare tire, 3 map lamps 2 dont come on one doesn't go off, the passenger door controls aren't secure in the door handle , now on top of it all... I am supposed to have a warranty, Mike says he can't find the information on it, it was sold to some company but no idea who, SO have I mentioned that the brakes have failed, yeah not once but twice, abs issue . I should have known when I bought a previous car outright from them in Jan 2023 that they were weasels. Induction leak in the gas line so everytime I go gas you would have to flood the engine an wrestle with the gas cap . Mike is useless, never calls back as promised. 2011 Volkswagen EOS Komfort purchased on 12/22/2023 Such a shame, if I could leave negative stars I would... We left the dealership with what we thought was a great deal and a great buying experience. Then we stopped to get gas less than 2 miles away from the dealership, filled up, got to the next stop sign and the car died. I managed to get it to run enough to get back to the lot. Mike took it back to the garage and they found a problem right away, the main vacuum line had come un-clipped, they put it back together and put some "superglue" on it, ran the scanner and cleared the codes. Less than an hour and a half later we were in traffic on I-75 and started getting warnings about oil pressure, we got off at the next exit and went to Pep Boys, they were no help. Auto Zone they scanned it and found codes, they didn't have the part on hand but said that the car could be driven but should be fixed when we got home. We called Mike and he said it was probably a sensor. We called him about a week or so later about the problem with the drivers door and he reminded us that the sale was "As-Is". List of "As-Is" problems so far.. 1. The "Oil Pressure" issue Auto Zone diagnosed was P0011 a fault in the variable valve timing (VVT) system. 2. All power to the driver side door stopped working within 4 days, no power to windows, locks, trunk or fuel flap. 3. Hardtop convertible top inoperative (it worked on the lot) 4. After having the original "oil pressure" problem repaired check engine came on again for "Camshaft Position Sensor" 5. After #4 was replaced the check engine came on again for code P2187, too lean off idle bank 1. 6. The car is currently sitting in an American Legion parking lot because now it won't start, won't even crank even with a jump. Edit: Bad Starter $575 more.. This has been the worst experience for us, so buyer beware once you leave "Das Autohaus" lot you are on your own. read more

I'm a Senior and a Vet, I saw a truck they were selling on Craigslist Tampa. Bruce (Owner)?, The guy with all the degrees and the promises, and his staff will not live up to your expectations, Carfax says "NO" accidents but, it was in a accident. Promises made but not kept (Safety Issues), MAKE SURE "IF" you buy a car or truck get a mechanic to go with you, Make sure your needs are addressing you concerns in writing. Parts are white box at least mine was and broke as soon as it rolled off the lot, said they would get a replacement part when the whole assembly is defective (Safety). STAY AWAY-Support better community owners. Test drove a broke and loud truck. They kept my deposit. Lied. I asked nicely for my deposit they promised me was refundable. I would never put a deposit on a vehicle that was making a racket and vibrating. There are soooo many places to buy from. Do not support these jerks(my opinion). They care more about a deposit then customers and people. Their crappy truck was off the market for 1.5 days. They say they were greatly affected by that. What bums! Truck has been listed forever! I understand that buying a used car involves a risk. A car should not have problems within an hour of driving it off the lot! I was sold a giant pile of junk and all I wanted was a refund or exchange for a different car on the lot. Apparently, one hour is one too many to ask them for help. Once you sign you're screwed!!! It is baffling to me that they would rather ignore what was happening than allow us to choose a different car or fix the one we bought and still have a sale and happy customers! We looked at a VW Jetta at Das Autohaus that we found advertised on CarGurus. While test driving the air conditioning seemed slow to cool. I asked "Sam", the person who sold us the car, to have the mechanic look at it. We went back the next day and it was blowing cold. Sam said it was looked at and everything was ok. We asked about having an outside mechanic look over the car and Sam said, "Why? We have the best mechanic around for European cars and that it already had a 100 point inspection done". Sam repeatedly assured us that it had been thoroughly looked over prior to it going on the lot. Over and over he said, "You can trust us, read our CarGurus reviews", "we would never screw you like that", "all cars have a 100 point inspection and come with a warranty", "we have nothing to hide, all cars have a CarFax", "if anything happens just call me, we are here to help"... Unfortunately, we had to find out the hard way that none of his words mattered. I hope sharing this story saves others the aggravation and huge financial loss that we have suffered. We decided to go ahead with the purchase after we were told the a/c was fixed. As we were sitting down with Christina doing the purchase contract I asked where the warranty information was. She said, "Oh, you want the warranty?". Well, yes... it is advertised as being part of the car purchase and "Sam" mentioned it at least a dozen times as one of the main selling points. A warranty is listed in every advertisement. So of course I want the free warranty. It was very slick of her to try to leave this off of the purchase documents. One hour after driving the car home the ABS light came on. The next morning we noticed leaks in the driveway under the car. I called Sam right away and he said he would let Christina know. We never heard from her. I called her several days later. By this time the coolant light was on and the reservoir empty indicating a leak, as well as tons of oil leaking in our driveway. She said, let me check the board for the mechanic's schedule and I will call you back. Weeks passed and never heard from her. Called back and she said she did not call back because there are no mechanic openings for 2-3 weeks and she'd look again and get back to me. Never heard from her. My boyfriend then called Christina and asked why she could not return a call and re-iterated that we called less than 24 hours after buying the car. She said she would talk with the owners. Guess what, we never heard back from her or the owners.... A week or so after our last call to them the transmission goes. Not surprising given the condition of the rest of the car. I call the warranty company and they referred me to a nearby shop, not Das Autohaus. The mechanic found a cracked water pump & housing causing the coolant leak, crankshaft seal & timing cover gasket leaking oil and needing replacement, ABS has an internal defect and needs repair and it needs a new transmission! Repair quote approximately $5600 so far. I paid $6000 for the car! The "insurance" covers the transmission up to $2000, meaning there is a balance of $650 to have a used transmission put in. The car will still need the additional $3000+ of work which is not covered by the warranty. I drove over and met with the owners. Margarete was making an effort to listen to what happened before her husband rushed in yelling. It was clear that Thomas has had many angry customers in front of him. He refused to listen or do anything. He kept saying the cars are AS IS and he cannot fix everyone's used car problems later. This was not the point. This is not about an AS-IS sale, this is about integrity and customer satisfaction in which they could care less about. We told them of the many issues less than 24 hours after the sale. We told Thomas of all the promises Sam made and he said, "What do you expect him to say, that the car has problems? He's trying to sell cars". Sam has been well trained to lie. Christina has been well trained to lie AND ignore customers. There is ZERO concern for customer satisfaction. If you decide to buy here heed my warning - insist that an outside mechanic thoroughly inspect the car, since they clearly do not do this. Do not deal with "Sam" as he is a trained liar with no conscience. He promised my 18 year old son the world, with a smile on his face, as he stole all of the money my son saved up for a car for 18 years! I hope Karma finds Sam, Christine & Thomas. read more

BEWARE BUYERS - FRAUD I believe a person (or business) is honest or he is not. Can he be both? If he is dishonest he may be good with one but the next he may not. Anyway look at his reviews and see for yourself. So here is the story. Purchased a pickup truck from them. Before buying we checked all fluids and found them to be full. Owner personally witnessed it and admitted to it. After 3 days the transmission went completely dry of fluids to the point it would not shift anymore. Took it to a mechanic and he found that the transmission was bad. So a bad review was sent but the review did not state what the exactly what happened. He commented on the review and said that the truck was used as a parts truck and was driven hundreds of miles before he sold it to me. So when I called with a complaint I was told that the owner was not in which is their typical answer. - Try it and see if you get the same response.- I asked for his number which was not given and was told he would call me back. He did call back but from another number (complaint phone I suspect) which by the way you can not call or text to. I explained what the actual problem was which he did not care and totally ignored. He said could do nothing since I wrote a bad review. That was as far as his integrity went. He had no intention to resolve anything. Buyers beware it could be you next time. Don't be fooled by the good reviews and pretty office decorations. This is the first bad review I have ever written. I would not write it if I were not 100% certain. Update: 7-26-18 - My mechanic is telling me that he found water in the transmission and that is suspect of fraud from the persons who sold it to me. read more

This dealership used all the tricks that give used car salespeople a bad rap. They lied about everything - from the spot of concealer on the hood (not disclosed until pick up) to how to register the car (I had nothing prepared to successfully register my car after they overcharged me for temp tags) to detailing the car (which they didn't do after they delayed my pick up date to detail the car) to the total price (they tried to keep the deposit after being paid in full, after calling me to get my credit card number so they could refund the deposit). I literally had to put the credit card company on the phone for this "forgotten" refund to be processed 3 months later. Buyer Beware!
