When planning our wedding, the most important thing to us was having a fun dance floor and Dart Collective went above and beyond to make sure that happened! As soon as we found Dart Collective, we knew we had to book them for our wedding. We originally wanted to do a live band but when we found the DJ with live musicians, it was a perfect combination of the live component we were looking for and the variety that comes with booking a DJ. Santi helped us tremendously with the planning and gave us great recommendations for other vendors for our event. He was always quick to respond to our questions and patient when we were indecisive. We were sent a 'music map' to fill out before the wedding which helped guide our DJ, Cory, with the music we would like to be played. Cory did a great job of playing the music we wanted to hear and there was never a moment that the dance floor was empty! We had a saxophone and trumpet in addition to our DJ and our guests loved the live music addition! Working with Dart was like a dream! Santi handled all of the logistics and was extremely responsive (exactly what you want when managing multiple wedding vendors) and they are total pros. They needed little direction given that they do so many events and weddings every year. We specifically requested Cassie to DJ at our wedding. We loved the vibe of a female DJ and got a ton of compliments from our guests on her music selection and ability to engage with the crowd. We had a line dance instructor from the white horse come and surprise teach our wedding guests the cowboy boogie, and they were able to hook her into the mic. Last but not least, We even had a wedding crasher and she handled it with a health dose of humor and laughter from the crowd. Dart Collective was one of the great highlights of my daughter's wedding in Austin. Look no further for a DJ! I can highly, highly recommend them. They were recommended to us by another DJ who happened to be booked for her wedding date. I'm so glad the other DJ wasn't available, because Dart Collective more than exceeded expectations and were the life and heartbeat of the party! Guests are still raving about them, too. You'll notice a difference over other DJ's from your first contact - Santi was awesome. He was prompt in communicating with us, and remained easily accessible throughout the year. About a month before the wedding, the serious planning started to kick into gear and we all met over zoom with Santi and our DJ for the night (Brett) to go over all the little details for each areas that needed specific music. On the day of, Brett and Monica arrived early and started setting up. We hired a DJ + package with live drums and a saxophone player. TOTALLY worth the extra cost to have them there - I honestly think it was better than having a live band - the DJ's rocked it, and the live music made the entire place ROCK & ROLL. We are based in Houston and used Dart for a 300-person, five-event wedding two weeks ago in Carmel CA and Jesse and Michael and team absolutely *killed* it. They literally aced the wedding band/music/DJ equivalent of the Ninja Warrior obstacle course: from a yacht rock party on a pier, to low-key jazz and Spanish guitar in a hacienda, to a contemporary opera piece with choir in a redwood grove (that included a spoken portion by my wife's untrained/non-performer uncle), to the incredible full band (The Shrines) after dinner, to topping it all off with a silent disco that almost burned the (actual) barn down. The Dart Family band was our wedding band and I cannot say enough amazing things about them! I'm an event planner by trade and have worked with dozens and dozens of bands for both weddings and private events and DFB was by far my favorite. Dart Collective was amazing to work with. Santi was very organized and responsive from the beginning (email, phone, text) and super easy to work with. The DJs for our wedding were Cory and Alex and they crushed it! These guys are legit musicians, not your typical cheesy wedding DJs. We gave them a bunch of songs to give them an idea of what kind of music we like and then they built off of that from there. They were also good at reading the crowd, and adjusting to continue to play the types of songs that everyone was vibing off of. If you are looking for a DJ- stop searching and book DART ATX. We used them for our wedding in April and it was the best money we spent for the wedding. The music was exactly what we wanted (even after very vague "this is our style", guidance). Everyone from our extended family to friends danced the entire night. Santi was also a great communicator through the planning process. He was quick to respond and organized. He answered all of my questions and concerns and really nailed it. We hired Dart for our wedding at a private property in Dripping Springs this past February. From our first interaction (a detailed and thoughtful call with Santiago) to the amazing execution on the day, my wife and I were blown away by Dart's style, attentiveness and ability to keep the dance floor going all night long. I have always been a bit of a self proclaimed music "nerd". Loving an eclectic range of artists from LCD Soundsystem to Fela Kuti. I was not sure how Dart was going to weave these (and other unique artists) together with more universal artists to keep the crowd engaged, but they did it with ease. Would recommend them again in a heartbeat, now, we just need to find another reason to hire them! The only thing I would note, is that their MC style is very simple and clean. This was perfect for us but not sure if you are looking for a party boy/hype man MC, that they are going to be the right fit for you. Also, their vinyl setup is so slick! I don't think you can get any better than Dart Collective. From the get-go they were responsive and flexible with our many requests. We had an initial phone call to discuss the musical vibe that we wanted for our wedding, and from then on they absolutely nailed it. We felt like we could trust them to handle everything that needed to be taken care of, and they did. They figured out the setup and timing with extremely minimal effort from us. The result was a very smooth, very fun experience. The dance floor at our reception was populated immediately, the songs were exactly to our taste, and there wasn't a single moment the entire night when people were not dancing. Our DJs Santi and Aaron looked like they were having a great time too. Friends and family kept commenting days later on how much fun the dance party was, and we owe much of that to Dart Collective.
