I'm a fairly new patient here and I've been very happy the two times I visited. First was for a regular check-up and cleaning and the second was to replace a loose filling. Everyone in the office is very friendly and I was taken in for my appointments promptly. I wasn't looking forward to the filling replacement since I hate being numb, but it was super quick and painless. Dr. Burke checked with me often to make sure there wasn't any pain while he was working. Best of all, once the minor numbness wore off I couldn't even feel anything new in my mouth. With other dentists I can always feel the filling a bit and then there is a period of time to get used to the different shape of my tooth. I will definitely continue to come to this office and I'm going to have my husband transfer here also. read more

I am glade , he is my doctor whenever I have any concern; he always answer my questions and if he don't know a lot about something; he refers me to someone else and make sure I get the same quality that I am getting it at his place. I highly recommend DR. DARRYL BURKE DDS, to everyone who is looking for a great Dentist!!! I lived in Concord,CA all my life. And have seen a lot of Dentists!!! but I never found the right dentist, until I found Dr. Darryl Burke. He's Professional, knowledgable,honest. My family has seen Dr. Burke for a number of years now, some of thoses years we didn't have dental coverage. We didn't have a problem paying because we knew we were gonna be taken care of and get 100% professional care. Recently we got Dental insurance, and unfortunately I had to go to a different dentist- (WESTERN DENTAL CONCORD,CA) which was my fault because I picked the wrong dental insurance. make a long story short I have never experienced such- ( I won't going to detail), but the point of the matter is I got the hell out of that dental office( if that's what you want to call it) and I immediately called Dr. Darryl Burke's Office to see if they can get me in as soon as possible for A tooth extraction, Which they did!!!! And than I changed my dental insurance, to the right one!! So I won't ever have to experience that again!! So, in my personal experience nobody Is better than Dr. Darryl Burke!!! I've been reading reviews about Dr. Darryl Burke and man I must have caught him on a good day! lol All kidding aside, I went in today with excruciating pain having almost overdosed on pain killers yesterday due to a horrible toothache on a bridge I have. I am horrified of dentists and I have no health insurance but I do have a discount dental plan from brighter.com. This place seemed pretty busy and I was afraid I would have to wait a long time or end up making an appointment. Ginger at the front desk attended me and she was nothing short of helpful and nice. Had me fill out some paperwork and then proceeded to tell me what my cost would be for having the Dr. check me and some X-rays. Let me tell you I was shocked about the price, less than 3 digits! Shea came to get me and tried getting X-rays done but I was in so much pain I couldn't even bite down. Then came Dr. Burke, asking me what was going on and well I had to get the X-rays done and I shared my dislike for dentists. He assured me it was going to be ok and told me I had to get anesthesia so he could figure out what was going on. He was busy with another patient and kept coming back to check on me and giving me shots until I was numb. After it was all done, of course what I was dreading the most is having to go back to a specialist to get a root canal. That's a whole other story. I went back to the front desk where I received my prescription of antibiotics and pain killers and also referred to a specialist. Come to find out, I ended up getting a refund!! I was charged for 3 x-rays when all it took was one. Honestly, this office saved my life. Yes I know it was me that decided to go to the dentist to get it checked but they didn't have to take me in and make space for me. They were extremely helpful and nice and I have nothing but appreciation for them. Thank you very much Dr. Burke, Ginger and Shea! read more

Despite the fact that this office was only 2 doors away from my house I will not be returning. I've been going to Dr. Burke for 5yrs and have had mixed feeling about his attitude and professionalism from the beginning. He has often been somewhat rude, acting as if it was my fault when it takes several shots to numb me up (obviously I don't WANT to have several painful injections). Last fall shortly before the presidential election when i was there he asked who I was voting for. It was an exciting time and everyone was talking about it, so I didn't hesitate to share with him that i was voting for Obama, big mistake. For the next 30 minutes while his hands are in my mouth, so I can't reply he proceeds to tell me that Obama is a terrorist and the entire world will go to hell should he be elected. Regardless of whether i agreed with him or not, HOW UNPROFESSIONAL CAN YOU BE!! The final straw was this weekend, I was moving and some friends were helping me, as the office was CLOSED and the parking lot empty, we parked 2 cars in the lot. another friend arrived to find a tow truck and DR. Burke's Mother/Cleaning lady who had called the tow truck. She was extremely rude, running into the office and SLAMMING THE DOOR IN MY FRIENDS FACE refusing to discuss the misunderstanding. Despite all this I should also share that I was never particularly impressed with Dr. Burke's dentistry skills either, they were mediocre. Don't be fooled by the fancy new office. The hygienists and front office ladies are nice, but Dr. BURKE IS ALL AROUND NOT A GOOD DENTIST! read more

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Burke and the reason I signed up for Yelp was to write a bad review of him because I don't want anyone having to deal with a dentist like him. I don't complain about people, but I have worked in customer service for a while and when I go to a dentist, I am the customer. First of all, he didn't introduce himself to me face to face, he said "Hey Emily" while looking at my charts and standing behind me. Then he started my cleaning and his receptionist came in to tell him he had a phone call from Meryl Lynch. Rather than asking me if it was ok if he took the call, which I may have been ok with, he left me in the middle of the cleaning saying, "I've gotta take that." When he came back there was no, "So sorry about that, it was an important call," just back to the cleaning. Then we had an awkward conversation about age and he asked me to guess how old he was. I'm sorry, but I'm not attracted to you! On top of all that, the dentist that I ended up going to instead of Dr. Burke found more things that Dr. Burke missed, so his diagnosis wasn't even thorough! read more

I've visited the clinic twice between March and April, every time I came in the service was great, from the receptionist at the front desk till the end of the billing process. Dr. Burke is a true profesional, his honesty, knowledge and care are definitely up to par. Couldnt be happier other wise wouldn't travel from I akland to concord for a dentist. I have been to many dentists in my lifetime and without question Darryl Burke is the most professional and most experienced and most caring of any that I have ever seen for dental work. We all know that in dental work occasionally a glitch happens that is almost never the fault of Dr. Burke but generally the fault of the lab. In reading some of the reviews others have posted for Dr. Burke I came across the one written by Glenn T of Walnut Creek and with regard to the offer of Glenn T I am asking that he send me the crown that he has that he claims was made with underlying tin because I do not believe for one single second that his allegation of the problem with the crown has anything to do with tin. I have been a patient of Dr. Burke since January 2000 and there has never once been any problem with billing or with anything else that was not immediately taken care of by Dr. Burke. I have always gotten my crowns back within two weeks which would have been impossible had Dr. Burke been using a lab in China. Dr. Burke is such a concerned and careful professional that within two days of my having dental work done in his office I have been contacted to make sure that everything is just fine and that there are no problems that need to be addressed. Glenn T is alleging doublebilling and claims that Dr. Burke was sued in Southern California for fraud. Glenn T better be careful what he alleges because if it is not true he stands the risk of being sued for slander and libel. Also if you read the other reviews posted by Glenn T you might arrive at the same conclusion that I have and that conclusion is that Glenn T is impossible to satisfy and makes up grandiose stories greatly embellishing his dissatisfaction. And as a last comment if Glenn T was so terribly dissatisfied with his crown and if it was causing him so much trouble and he didn't really feel like returning to Dr. Burke why didn't he immediately consult another dentist before the statute of limitations expired. There's an old saying that says if it doesn't make sense it's not true and Glenn T does not make sense. As a final note you could search far and wide and never find a dentist that is any better than Dr. Darryl Burke. read more

Darryl took our son in on short notice when he knocked his teeth loose shortly after we returned from overseas, and we were very grateful. That was 17 years ago, and we've been patrons of Burke Family Dental ever since. Technically they are superb, and together with the staff the practice is friendly and efficient. read more

I went to see dr. Burke for a few cavities, it was my first time there, right when I walked through the door I got a great impression. Everything is handled in a very professionally, and dr. Burke him self is very friendly, explains everything that is going on in precise detail. Makes you laugh a bit too which is always nice. My husband has been going to Dr. Burke for many years. My dental insurance changed and my dentist was not a primary provider. I had to switch dentists which is never easy. Dr. Burke has been great. His office and staff are wonderful. My husband needed a lot of dental work done and we decided (with Dr. Burke's help) to go with dental implants. My husband is not an easy patient and had some issues. Dr. Burke promised that in the end he would make sure everything turned out perfect. It was a bit of a rocky road but Dr. Burke was true to his word. My husband could not be happier. I would recommend Dr. Burke to everyone. So, here it is a holiday weekend and my youngest son bites into a piece of meat and cracks his orthodontic apparatus bracket around his molar. We left an emergency message Friday night for his orthodontist, and waited. When we hadn't heard anything back, I sent a message to Dr.Burke, hoping he might see it and at least make a suggestion of what we could do over the weekend while waiting for the orthodontist to call.He not only got back to us in 10 minutes to offer a temporary soothe, but insisted he come into the office early today (on his time off!) to help my son out of his misery! What kind of dentist does that anymore?!?!?!? I will tell you what kind....as highly skilled a technician in his craft as he is a compassionate human being!! He knows my entire family's dental history so completely, that he was able to take care of his apparatus while preserving his orthodontic work in the process. Dr.Darryl Burke has taken care of our family for 10 years now, and we have NEVER had better dental care, kindness and wealth of information than we have going to him!! Again, I want to stress, he came in on a holiday weekend with such concern and kindness to take care of my family!!! If there were 10 stars, I would double that in my rating!! I too had a terrible experience. I should have checked yelp first. I always will from now on. My first appointment Dr.Burke never even officially introduced himself as the dentist. Never shook my hand. Barely even said hello come to think of it I don't think he even said that. I have been in the customer service industry for 35+ years if I acted liked this towards my customers I would have been fired. He needs to work on COMMUNICTION Skills before he has no patients. I had a cleaning and x-rays I was afraid to go further because of his total disregard for his patients he seemed so disconnected like he wished he was someone else. I decided to switched and the new dentist I saw after said Dr. Burke missed alot of things. NEVER AGAIN please check yelp and other review sites before you sign up for any doctor or dentist if I had know this before hand I would have wasted my time with Dr Burke it's not worth it. read more

My daughter recommended him to me during an emergency that I had and it was a friday afternoon and he returned our call promptly, addressed the situation, and I was in their the first thing on Monday morning. Dr. Burke is a very friendly, caring and expert Dentist. I do want to tell you a little story. As I was leaving his office that day, a new client was coming in and he asked (being a new client and his first time) what I thought of this Dr. Burke.
