David and Joey seem to have little business experience. The work they did was good but after…read morereceiving the quote and approving it, they increased the price because the cost of mulch increased. They later tried to increase the price again because there were more leaves and twigs than they expected. I refused. But the most troubling thing was in the quote for cleanup work, they gave me a price for biweekly mowing. At the first two week point, their mower was in the shop. By the time they were able to mow, 4 weeks had passed and the grass was over 12" tall. The job could only be described as poor. Then, at the next biweekly time, I received a text that they decided to not do mowing, they only want to do landscaping. If they wanted to do that, it would have been nice to get the notice at the last mowing and not 2 weeks later. Their work is okay, they just need to learn the concept of under promising and over delivering instead of the other way around.

The yard looks great and it is such a relief to know the house is ready for our next tenants.

Working with the Woodlawn Tree Service team has been an incredibly positive experience that I'm…read morelikely to recommend them if ever anyone is needing trees removed/trimmed. Since fairly recently purchasing our property, we needed to remove some overgrown and very large trees from our front yard, including a giant shrub that almost conceals our floor to ceiling bay windows. Seriously, we've had friends and family having difficulty finding us because you could barely see our house, let alone the house number, from the street. So I found Woodlawn from those weekly coupons we receive in the mail. I got a free quote from Jim Nelson (owner) after he came by the property to write down the estimates for tree and root removal. When I had other questions about some other smaller trees and shrubs, Mr. Nelson was able to come out again to take a look and answer any other questions I had. I had been in contact with Lauren most of the time since she was able to send me a copy of the estimate, which itemized each tree and their cost for removal and a separate cost for root removal. It had been noted that if I decide to do partial work that was quoted, I would have been given a 15% discount. You get 20% off if deciding to have all the work done as quoted. I didn't sign with them right away since I was also getting quotes from other people but decided ultimately to go with Woodlawn because their contract was detailed and their years of service, as well as great customer service and reviews gave me the piece of mind knowing I'd be in good hands with them. Lauren informed me of the timeframe of when work would begin, which was about 3-4 weeks out due to their high demand. Sometimes weather could be a factor for delays and/or emergency calls from fallen trees and such. I was in no rush to I didn't mind the wait. Prior to the scheduled work, Lauren puts in a request for Miss Utility to come out and mark utility lines. On the day the work is scheduled to begin, I had to come out to confirm which trees needed to be removed. It took them 2 days to complete the work but honestly, they started around noon the first day and ended around noon by the second day. Like I said, we had some very big thick trees and a lot of roots were above ground. There was a whole team of guys doing work on removing trees and roots, hauling away the big lumbar and making sure the area is clean. Another make thing I truly appreciated was that I didn't have to pay until the work was completed and Me. Nelson did a final inspection. He found two small trees that hadn't been removed and had the work done within a week at no additional cost. Also, since I decided to pay by credit card, Lauren was able to come by the property so she could swipe the card directly. Excellent service throughout, from beginning to end. I thoroughly enjoyed with Mr. Nelson, Lauren and the rest of the Woodlawn Tree Service team. I highly recommend them!

Not only did they do a great job they went the extra mile to do things that weren't in the proposal but made the yard look nicer. They installed a new drainage spot since our HOA grass coming ran over ours with a mower and destroyed it; they cut and edged the grass, laid additional grass seed, seasonal plants, and trimmed our rose bushes!! Talk about stellar service!! Ryan initially did our side yard a few years ago and installed a drainage system; we attempted to have him cone out last year and do work in our backyard but scheduling conflicts and missed appts (in his side) led us to another company... that was a mistake. The other company over promised and completely under delivered... now that Ryan's completes the second job we will never use another company; we will just wait... it's well worth it. We will be customers for life and continue to use Ryan's and recommend him. Our neighbors were so impressed they asked for an on the spot quote for their yard!

Unfortunately, I can't recommend Ryan's Landscaping based on my experience…read more Ryan seems like a genuinely good person and was pleasant to deal with, but the overall project was frustrating due to a lack of organization and too many delays. There were also several issues with the work, particularly with the painting and French drain, that required additional attention. Another major concern was the amount of payment requested upfront, especially considering the delays and issues that followed. The lack of a clear warranty or meaningful follow-up support also added to the frustration when problems came up. I really wanted the project to go smoothly, and I believe Ryan has good intentions, but the execution and project management need significant improvement. Better communication, organization, realistic timelines, and stronger accountability for the completed work would make a big difference. I hope Ryan takes this feedback constructively and improves these areas, because the experience could have been much better.
