Unfortunately I was not treated with the professionalism expected. My daughter and I have only been going to Darlene a few months. I arrived on time for my evening appointment (made 3wks prior) and there was a "hair emergency". Darlene had over processed a client's hair and needed my appointment time to correct the mistake. I was simply told "I have to cancel you". No accommodation (I can take you @7am tomorrow...nothing). Now as a professional African American woman with a 2pm flight to Dallas for a conference the following day...imagine my frustration. Emergencies happen, I understand, but to merely brush a customer off...unacceptable. Customer Service is just as important as capability. Obviously taking my dollars elsewhere. read more

I'm so glad I found this place. Darlene is such a sweetheart! I called to see if she had any availabilities for later that day, she told me she just walked out but she can take me at 7:30. I came in with my nappy long hair and she welcomed me so warmly and asked me what I would like done. I was so nervous chopping off my hair but she talked to me the entire time! My hair came out better than I thought! I freakin love it. I later found out that when I called she was actually done for the day but she said something in my voice was pleading for a hair cut, so she came back. Amazing woman! I found Darlene on here and called her too see if she dyed hair extensions. She said yes and was convenient enough to let me text her my hair, a picture of what I wanted, and a picture of my hair extensions to see if she was able to do what I wanted. She said yes and was a reasonable price so I decided to book an appointment with her due to she had no problem answering my questions and I would text her at any time and she would always respond. I went today for my appointment and was truly satisfied I have had many bad experiences and have been looking for someone I can trust and show what I want and get it. She got me in that afternoon (a Sunday) which was a huge bonus because my schedule is always packed full & all over the place. Hands down, Darlene is the most amazing hairdresser I have ever been to. She listens and asks questions and TAKES HER TIME in working with you so that you get a haircut that is exactly what you wanted & one that you will most definitely love. It is truly the first time in several years that someone has cut my hair and I've absolutely loved it. I think after having so many mundane/so-so haircuts, I just sort of figured I would never get what I wanted again - How sad is that??!!! You might not believe this but you can...I actually prayed for a decent hair cut..I lost my regular lady a year ago to her illness and it has been one train wreck after another..to the point where I have been cutting my own! I took it upon myself 2 days ago to try to chop off sides so earrings would show and wow what a mess I made so I knew it was time to go on a bear hunt...didn't want to be disappointed again but I had no choice so that's where the prayer came in lol so I googled hair salons in Mira Loma area and Darlene's name came up and I read her reviews which were all 5 star which was good but not many which I ,for the life of me, cannot understand cuz I made an appt. and I just knew from the things she was saying concerning my hair and what needed to be done that it was gonna be good day. Between the hair cut and the convo I think I have made a friend for life. I appreciate everything she did and how she corrected what I did and all with humor...I really felt like I was in a friend's kitchen and we were just foolin' around doin' hair and makeup!
