I highly recommend this facility. Dr. Lui is very skilled, highly knowledgeable, and compassionate…read more I went for a gum graft with was performed seamlessly. He also discovered 2 deep infections under crowned teeth. I attempted to save the teeth, but eventually had to have them pulled and returned to Dr Lui for the implants which were completely painless. The day After each procedure Dr Lui emailed me to check on my recovery and answered any questions or concerns quickly. At times the communication between front staff and doctor is delayed and could use improvement. Poor communication with front desk

To say my visit to Puget sound periodontics was horrible would be an understatement. The Dr was in…read morea rush and the tooth extraction was nothing short of brutal. I was in mild shock when I left the office. I contacted my regular dentist (who is great) to see if she would be willing to remove my sutures. She declined likely for professional/liability reasons which I understood. When I returned to the periodontist office for suture removal I informed the staff of my experience and while concerned, they offered me no alternatives. When the Dr appeared to remove the sutures I informed him that I would rather not have him treat me and the response was "I know" and he proceeded with suture removal. He tried to justify his treatment of me and claimed that the removal was neither rushed nor rough. At no time did he display any remorse or responsibility. As a side note when I looked for reviews of this firm I found that many of the positive reviews were regarding physicians that no longer practice there. Just food for thought.

Dr. Herrin is the nicest dentist in Seattle! Having had bad experiences with another dentist…read moreoffice, *cough* Suntide Dental *cough cough*, I was scared to go to the dentist, but I had a toothache so whatcha gonna do? Dr. Herrin took his time and even though this was my first time to this office, he treated me as though I was a good friend. As it turned out, since I had just gotten over a cold I had a sinus issue, and not a "real" toothache. (I feel like other dentists would have made something up to drum up a future visit). What I also loved was that he explained my issue to me as though it was his first week on the job - not as though I was another cog in the wheel of his day. I came back for a cleaning a few weeks later and the service from him and his staff was just as good. I really like going to the dentist now. :)

I was worried at first, because it's always a bit worrying to try someone new, especially when you're not overflowing with cash and have no idea what to expect. That he has 1920s posters in his exam room made me think he was my kinda doc. I was right. Let me say that Dr. Herrin is a true gentleman, and made me feel not only comfortable, but like he truly wanted to help. I had, MANY years ago seen someone in the same building (seems he's long gone) who came off more as a car salesman and very arrogant - so this was a welcome surprise. I currently have no insurance and he was compassionate about that. He could not treat my molar, but explained quite thoroughly two options, and even agreed that my choice was the best choice not simply the cheapest (which it is),. He referred me to an oral surgeon that he himself has gone to, and sent the x-ray right on over to them. He also gave me a hand written explanation/rec. to give to them. When I walked into that clinic, they indeed already seemed to know who I was, and set me up. I appreciate that Dr. Herrin didn't go in guns blazing and possibly hurt more than he could help, though of course I wish it could have been so simple. I appreciate how much time he took to speak to me and also future options after having a surgical extraction, and why it was better to let them handle it -- just in case. The person he sent me to even had an exact price quote so I won't be stunned when I go back for the procedure. Dr, Herrin was also very kind in letting me know that should I be in pain while I'm waiting, or have any issues, to call him immediately and he'd further assist. I will definitely go back in the future for cleanings and fillings and the like. Also, they managed to see me the same day as I called. I know last minute problems can be difficult to fit into someone's busy schedule, but the place I had gone before, the receptionist didn't seem to really try...or appreciate that I was in pain. Not even a reference. Customer service even of the "non" dentists of the office, is very important, and I was very well taken care of at West Seattle Dental/Dr. Herrin.
