This location has consistently provided me with excellent service. I've taken multiple different Toyotas here and trust these guys with my cars way more than your average mechanic. Mehdi also made sure I got the best possible deal for my service, instead of trying to upsell me on unnecessary things, which can be a problem at other places. I cannot recommend anyone buy a car from this dealership. I have been trying to get a couple issues resolved for over six months now, and there has still not been a satisfactory result. First, the salesperson convinced me to buy new instead of used after he went into great detail about a technological feature (Remote Connect) the vehicle had, but claimed he could not show me how it worked after I asked because the vehicle's VIN had to be registered in the phone app and he did not want to do that with his phone. Three days after purchase when I had the time to set it up I had issues doing so and called Toyota Customer Support, who then told me the vehicle does not have that feature and it could not be installed either. When I brought this up with the salesperson and his manager, the manager said the only thing they can do is a trade-in after I get the title in the mail 1.5 months later and that they would attempt to save me as much money as they can in the process (which has been proving to not be the case, as I would be out several thousands of dollars with the trade-in terms they have stated). They could have instead replaced the vehicle with one that had the feature while it was still in new condition when I first brought up the issue. They then did not follow-through with submitting the extended warranty cancellation form that I went in and signed over 5 months ago, meaning I've been paying extra interest on my loan with this added warranty amount still sitting on there. They are instead trying to use that warranty amount as money down toward a trade-in, and at a reduced amount instead of the full refund amount I am due based on when I signed it. I am leaving out MANY other details for the sake of keeping this post on the shorter side. But this entire situation shows wholly unethical and unacceptable behavior on the part of the salesperson and the sales managers of this branch. Find a different dealership for your vehicle purchase so you don't end up in a similar situation. read more

The reasoning behind the 5 star review is mainly for Anthony, the gentleman who works in the parts department at this dealership. Being an owner of a 26 year old Toyota, it wasn't easy locating all the little bits and pieces that I need to complete some of my interior, as well as my exterior, along with parts for my engine. When I lost my key for my MR2, I seeked Anthony for help because I knew he could lead me in the right direction. Luckily, there was only one key left, and he located it and even gave me the exact key code I needed. I couldn't thank him enough, he saved me a lot of trouble, and got my car back on the road in no time. Super friendly guy, with great knowledge about cars, would recommend this parts department anytime. read more

I brought my car in for a tire replacement around 7am. Pulled in the service center, few people in there, as to be expected. As I'm checking in at the desk, Khadija, is helping me. Then a coworker yells over if she wants coffee. Fine. When it's found out that the person who's getting coffee is already on the way, she dials the number while I'm still checking in to put in her order. No, "Excuse me, do you mind while I place an order?" She just calls him while they discuss what she wants. Ok, not the end of the world. I get checked in, am told I'd receive a call upon completion. Then I asked if there was a shuttle. They tell me yes, there was a shuttle and it should be back shortly. Forty minutes later, it'll be a couple of more minutes. Ten more minutes pass by and then I called a Lyft, during which the shuttle came but I took the Lyft. I call around lunch time, 1pm, to ask on a car update. I'm called back and told it's been ready, they just need an address to close out. Not relevant to why I have not been called, especially when my number was in the system and asked again by them. So I ask for the shuttle for pickup, as I'm 3 minutes drive away. I give them the address and 25 minutes later after watching the shuttle pass by on the road I call. They tell me they will write a note for Khadija but I'm really upset at this time. I explain to the rep on the line my issues, she tries to understand. I get the number to the shuttle as I watch him pass by again. I call and tell him he's passed me again and ask if he's using GPS, he says yes. We are the only building at the address I gave. We get back in 3 minutes. Nobody says anything about the service or about the not calling. I'm asked one question, "Did you call the call center?" by Khadija. I say I called service. She replies, "Yes, that's the call center." Then silence, just a look at me to let me know that she knows I've complained. Awesome service. I'm given my keys after they pull the car. This is a Toyota lot and I have a Toyota. She gives me the key fob and I have to go outside and play with it while I search for the car amidst a lot full of cars. I guess that was my punishment for complaining. read more

I always buy cars from this dealership - primarily because the service is so good. My DARCARS representative of choice is Khadijah; she is a lovely, personable, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful representative who goes out of her way to make sure that the service is what you need and that you are happy. She always has the car washed for free and she calls you when the work is done. In fact, she always returns my calls promptly. I couldn't be happier. The only reason for not giving the dealership a five-star rating is that their website is very confusing and the prices on the site are not accurate. read more

This has been the WORST car buying experience I've ever had. I already had the car picked out online and contacted sales 100% ready to buy. It took several days for a sales rep to even respond to me after I reached out several times. Then, I only got literally one-sentence email response a day. Moving the process along felt like I was having to beg them to let me buy the car. This process has now dragged out into SIXTEEN DAYS for and they still haven't finalized the purchase ***AFTER already debiting my account for the downpayment!*** Every time I call in, Larry N. in finance is "out of the office", they take DAYS to reply to my emails, if they even respond. I call in asking to speak to ANYONE else and I get stuck on hold for 20+ minutes until I give up. I have emailed the head of used car sales, I spoke with the head of new car sales, I emailed the head of finance, and NO one has helped me or gotten back to me. As of today? I have given them the signed papers, a $2000 downpayment, and here I am 16 days later STILL WITH NO CAR. I'm about to initiate a chargeback to get my downpayment back and buy elsewhere. I literally have a delivery company ready to pick up the car and bring it to me and I can't give them a pickup date because NO ONE THERE IS RESPONDING TO ME!!! read more

The service center does not timely complete work and is very disorganized. However, my biggest issue is thy they always find significant issues with my relatively new Camry and the car usually starts making buzzing noises immediately after my visit. They try to pressure me into getting the work done right away, which I never do. Typically i will take my car to another service center that finds very little or even nothing wrong with it. This place needs to be reviewed by a regulatory body for bad business practices. read more

We went to look at 3 cars, but were only able to look at 2 because they "couldn't find" the third. For one of the cars, we had to walk a distance in the heat to "find" it. Its pretty sad place. The receptionists are the worst and the second worst thing about this place is calling it on the phone which obviously the receptionist picks up the phone. So I went in there to buy a car, took about an hour to get a person to show me the cars and let me test drive it. Anyways, I finally test drove and wanted to negotiate the price and the sales person refused to negotiate at all. I just went through my second car buying experience with DARCARS and I have to say it was almost as bad as the first. After swearing to never use DARCARs after the first experience, we decided to try again since they were the only local dealer participating in the Costco Buyer Program. Pros: * Our main sales guy, Carlos, was more knowledgeable about the products than other Toyota sales representatives we met with. * I was able to get the car I wanted for a price I was willing to pay. Although the price element is a result of using the Costco Buyer Program, nothing the dealer did (see pricing experience in the Cons below). * Upon calling DARCARs silver spring, I am greeted by an actual human being who is polite and helpful. Cons: * Classic sleazy car dealer bait-and-switch tactic upon arriving to the dealer in person on BOTH visits * Attention to detail paperwork mistake with the wrong VIN #, resulting in over an hour spent waiting around at the uncomfortable dealership * Current visit screw-up: Finance guy pushed having DARCARs handle the tags, instead of me going to the DMV to handle it myself. Fine. Two months passes and not a words from DARCARs about the new tags, even as they are about to expire. 1. Upon calling the first two days during business hours, the tags POC is not available to assist. After speaking to the POC, he is unable to get my name right after telling him no less than five times. 2. He refers me back to the receptionist, who informs me my tags are not available, and this happens often but they will request an extension. It would have been nice to know this when deciding to have DARCARs process the tags, when I could have just taken care of it myself. 3. Tags extension person is out of the office for the next four business days, sorry. 4. Meanwhile my tags are expiring. Will DARCARs foot the bill for my upcoming tickets??? * Previous visit screw-up: I did not have my financing in place at the time of purchase, so took out a loan with DARCARs loan vendor. o After attempting to pay off the loan the next month when I had the cash to do so, they told me I needed to come in person to the dealership. o Fine. I paid for my car and went on my merry way. o Several months later, I received a "failure to pay" notification for my vehicle loan. Upon calling DARCARs, they told me oops sorry we forgot to close out your loan. o Fortunately I noticed this before my credit score was negatively impacted due to DARCARs incompetence. Clearly DARCARs lacks even the most basic processes to make sure things get done right for their customers. I have not seen this level of incompetence at the other car dealers in the area I have visited. read more

This is a terrible disorganized and unprofessional dealership. I had an appointment to bring my car in for servicing. I waited about 5 minutes in the drive-thru before I was helped, then I was told to wait in a line inside. Nobody acknowledged my presence inside, nobody helped me and I stood there being ignored for about 10 minutes. When I asked somebody if they could help me, they didn't even look up from their computer and said they were too busy. So, I left. I tried telling somebody outside about my disappointment, but they just walked away while I was talking. The last time I was there, I had to wait about 20 minutes before I was even helped. Our family came in to buy a used car from a salesman that was wonderful. He had the car we were buying brought in from another dealership. While we were waiting with all 3 of our kids he processed our paperwork along with the used car manager and finance department. When the car came we were so excited but had to wait a little longer while our salesman took the car to get detailed. The kids were doing great after the 2.5 hour wait but we were finally in the home stretch and went to finance to finalize the paperwork. As we were settling the military out-of-state registration the used car manager came in and said "I'm sorry but we can't sell you this vehicle. Someone else here just bought it." There are no words for this type of situation. What's worse is that was it. Our credit was run. Our kids were late on dinner. We left with nothing but a "hey, that doesn't usually happen and that sucks." That's it. Just don't buy a used car from here. I've heard the new car manager is amazing, but run away from the used car department. read more

Darcars Toyota in Silver Spring, MD on September 1, 2014. Upon our arrival at 11:30am, my father was greeted by Amadou Bah- this was the sales guy that supposedly had help my father's friends purchase current vehicles. I explained to Amadou that we were looking for a 2014 Rav4 XLE and color did not matter. He proceeded to look up available vehicles in the dealership and again asked me what color the vehicle needed to be-- I restated that color did not matter, so he picked gray. Once he found the vehicle, he asked me about financing options and went over current promotions. I explained to him that we were going to do the 0% interest and $500 rebate. He continued to mention the other option of getting an additional $500 off if we fore-go the 0%; to this proposal I answered by stating that it wouldn't be a smart business decision for us and we were going for the 0% (which my dad more than qualified for). I also added that my dad had a car to trade in-- a 1994 Lexus GS 300. Amadou left and returned with a two page spec of the vehicle and said it was in the lot and available to look at. After review of the spec sheets, I determined the vehicle met my dad's needs and started the negotiation of price. I asked Amadou what was the dealership's processing fees, state taxes and title fees which he answered. With this information, on the second page I wrote down the price of $25,000 out the door (all fees, taxes included). Amadou asked me twice if I could go higher than that and both times I said no. He stated he needed to talk to his manager Wayne and that he would be back. Even though I saw Amadou around four times, it took him about 26 minutes for him to get back to us with an answer. Yet at that same time he proceeded to take on more customers and pull up information for them as well. This was definitely an indication of him becoming too busy to service us properly which raised reg flags for customer service. Once he returned to our table he wrote a total of $25,500 on the back of the second spec sheet and stated this was before the $500 cash incentive. So I asked Amadou, if $25,000 was the price out the door (which was with the cash incentive that would have been taken off) and he said yes. The spec sheet was signed off between Amadou and I; we shook hands and awaited to go to financing office. I asked for a copy of the signed spec sheet and he said he would get that for me, only after which he asked why. I explained that I've dealt with too many dealers that the pricing changed once I went into financing. Before going in, I asked Amadou what about the trade in and he just looked baffled at my question. My fiancée reminded him there was a car that was going to be traded in. At this time he took the keys and the registration from my dad; then took another 22 minutes to come back to us. Amadou returned to fill out more paperwork on the trade-in and yet still had no answer for us. When he finally returned did return to our table, he came back with the value of $300 due to the Carfax report and color of the vehicle. I asked for an additional $200 on the car- for a total of $500 value, and he agree. Once again, I confirmed the final price of $24,500 (with $500 rebate, $500 trade-in and 0%). Finally entering the finance office after a long wait, Guzman (I believe) started to calculate the numbers and of course-- they were over by $970. Looking at the price of the car it was not at $25,000 it was $26,500 (which was not mentioned) before the rebate and trade-in. I was very upset and wanted to leave immediately because the price had changed. At this time, Tim Morgan stepped into the office, he quickly flipped through the pages on the desk and asked what was wrong. Before I could even get out what was going on, he was rude and disrespectfully claiming "we are not doing this!" and stormed out of the office. He did not even seem phased at the fact we wanted to leave, in fact he encouraged us to leave! He did not care if we purchased the vehicle at the time nor wanted to take the time to investigate what had happened. I do believe Tim is a "Manager" at the facility and yet his aggressive outburst was not acceptable for any potential customers. He clearly demonstrated no concern and such a high act of unprofessionalism at a facility that relies on customers satisfaction of purchasing a vehicle. He came in abruptly and left abruptly, never did he once taking some time to speak to us. By doing this, we felt the quick dismissal of management like a slap in the face. After everything was finish, the final price was $970 over the agreed price between Darcars Toyota and myself. From the end of the financing office to actually receiving the vehicle-- it took another hour and twenty minutes to actually get the car. read more

My first Yelp review had to go to this hideously atrocious place. I have been compelled to break out of my yelp shell and inform people of what a terrible place this is for customer service. If this review could convince someone to take their business to a competitor, I would be a happy man. Bottom line: after we purchased a car from them it has been nothing but poor service. It has been over a month now and our temporary tags are about to expire and they still have not gotten us our title. When I call, the response is that the person I am calling is "busy" and they take my number. I have done this 4 times and NOT ONCE have I received a call back. When I do get through, they pretend like they are taking care of things but then a week later, nothing has been done. They even said they would extend the temporary tags but that still hasn't been done. Please, do yourself a favor and take your business to a different place. read more

There's so much to be said, but I will stick to what really matters. 1. My sales rep was extremely patient with me when looking for a vehicle 2. I worked in auto insurance/claims dept so for me I would not take the car home until I got insurance on the vehicle and you shouldn't either. After 24hrs, if that car gets dinged or messed up and you don't have insurance, it's on YOU. Do not let them pressure you into taking the car home without you having your stuff in order. I don't believe I told them I used to work in that industry and as a result they tried to pressure me into signing papers for ownership of the vehicle. I told them no for the same reason I discussed above. 3. the sales rep was nice enough to pick me up to take me to the dealership to purchase the car. Problem #1: They brought a manager into the financial office, his name may or may not be Errick. He berated me and told me I was making the sales rep look bad because (the sales rep is a friend of a friend) he told him that I was a serious buyer and now it appears that I wasn't serious, they took the car from another lot and now they have to return it which makes their dealership embarrassed, and so on. I looked at him and let him finish his rant, then when he was finished I politely said I will be back when I get insurance on the vehicle. So unprofessional of him to relay his problems onto the consumer, I've worked in customer service for 10 years and I could not believe he was that senseless to do that when it's involving a transaction of tens of thousands of dollars. He was coming from the restaurant business, maybe he will learn the difference between just basic service skills and a business transaction. Had the sales rep not took 8hrs out his day to find me the car I wanted, I would have never returned and wrote a letter to corporate. I'm not sensitive anyway so his words meant nothing to me. Problem #2: The car was listed as a certified used vehicle on the internet. Upon reading over the documents I learned it was not certified so I had to purchase an additional warranty of over 2K to protect myself. Not happy. Problem #3: It is my mistake, but once I took that car home I didn't get anything I was promised. The car has chipped paint on the side before purchase and no one would return my call for months to get it painted. I decided to go up to the dealership and go strictly to the service dept, and still it is unresolved so that's an out-of-pocket expense for me. No car wash. No inspection of the brakes that were squealing days after I took it home. No one returns calls. No one cared to do their research to find missing inspection papers for the car, instead gave me the run around and told me to call all these different people at the Nissan dealership. So lesson learned, I just will not purchase from them again. The car is a good car, but I knew what to look for. He did show me other cars on the lot and try to sell them to me and when I looked under the hood, terrible. wrong color fluids, rust, battery leaking fluid, etc. But I would expect that from any dealership. **They encourage you to lend via Toyota rather than whoever you planned on getting a loan with and will run your credit to multiple lenders until someone accepts (to my knowledge this will affect your credit, if you have good credit just go to your bank). Toyota Financial Services does not refinance loans, better off getting a loan from your own bank that probably wont be much of a percent difference than TFS, and as long as you make payments on time to build repore, call them to negotiate and they will lower your interest rate. read more

Lousy customer service from the used car dealership! I bought a used 2010 Prius from Darcars Toyota in Silver Spring, MD two weeks ago and unfortunately I'll never buy from them again. Their salespeople wasted my time, were not knowledgeable about the cars they were selling, and their after-sales customer service was infuriating. I should have known that I was in trouble when they made me wait over an hour to find one of the cars that I wanted to test drive rather than showing me an identical model just to see if it was even a good fit for me. I let that slide though, since the price of the car was good and the location of the showroom was convenient for me. We eventually found the car, which I did decide to purchase that day with the caveat that they fix a problem with the leather pulling away from the front seats and throw in a few extras. Here is where the problems began... As soon as I paid for the car (in cash), the salesperson took the tags off my old car and tried to install them on the new Prius. The problem was that the Prius didn't have a license holder on the front and, instead of using the guide holes to screw the plate into, the salesperson made brand new holes for the plate that were both off-center and terribly crooked. So there I had my new car with brand new holes in the bumper. I raised a little hell and the manager agreed in writing to have the service shop install a proper license plate holder. Next stop is the service shop where I spent (literally) three hours while the service shop tracked down the appropriate people in used cars to get approvals to order the parts I needed for the license holder, a spare key, all-weather floor mats, and parts to fix the seats (all of which were negotiated and documented as part of the sale). After wasting my afternoon there I still had to schedule a new appointment to have everything installed. A couple weeks later, I received a call from the service department and scheduled my appointment. This time, however, things went better than expected (or maybe my expectations were just low). I waited in the very nice new lounge for only 90 minutes while they took care of everything except the seats, which they said that they couldn't fix and that the sales team would need to arrange with a separate company. I walked over to the used car building and spoke with a manager who scheduled everything for me on the spot. Again, so far so good... The following Monday I dropped off my car and was told that it would be back from the shop by Tuesday evening or at the latest Wednesday morning. I was given a rental car and sent on my way. Tuesday went by without any word from Darcars. Wednesday morning went by without any updates. Finally, Wednesday afternoon I called Darcars to be told by my salesperson that he would look into it and get back to me. I never received a phone call after several hours, so I called back that evening and was told that my car would be ready on Thursday morning. Thursday morning - no call from Darcars. Thursday afternoon I finally decide to call the company working on my car and ask some questions. Apparently they didn't even know what they were supposed to be fixing and had been trying to reach Darcars since Tuesday! On top of that, they didn't even have spend authorization from Darcars to do the work! So here it is, three days since I turned my car over to Darcars and absolutely nothing has been done on it and I have no idea when I'm going to see my car again. The thing that infuriates me the most is that none of my problems are major, and each one could have been mitigated by providing adequate customer service. Unfortunately, customer service just doesn't seem to be part of the used car buying experience at Darcars, which is why they have lost me, and anyone willing to hear my message, as a customer for life. ~~~~~Edit 5/17/13~~~~~ I received a call from the manager of the used car dealership saying that my car was ready this afternoon. Thankfully, the repair shop did good work and I'm satisfied with the job they did. The manager again apologized for the ordeal and I reiterated that a little customer service from their salespeople could have gone a long way and may have made me a happy customer, even despite some of the hoops that we had to jump through to get everything resolved. read more

SOLD MY DAUGHTER A LEMON My 19 yrs old daughter worked hard and saved her money to purchase her first vehicle. on May 17, we came to the dealership, she found a nice Toyota 2016 all excited. We were told the car was not in any accident and she will be the first buyer of the car since it was a rental car. Fast forward to July, 11, she took the car to the shop since her windshield was not working. Shocking to find out her first car was in a previous accident with 26 repairs and the front bumper was replaced and the information was only provided to her by the Service department at the dealership. She was never made aware of the previous accident by the sales person or the manager. She called the Manager and Sale person and they did not take her complaints seriously. We have contacted the BBB and filed a complaint for selling the vehicle under false advertising. read more

5 stars for my Salesman Rod Durden, and only one star for the dealership. I purchased a vehicle 3 weeks ago, on a trade, and they still have not paid off my trade. Who gets screwed if the payment is late? The customer! Service dept is a nightmare. Good luck getting your car back without scratches and dents on your car. Oh and service in the service dept is appalling. They treat you like you are bothering them when you pick up or drop off a car. Good luck finding any parking. There is only enough parking to accommodate a dozen customers. Our trade was backed into while we were signing papers. All that being said, working with Rod Durden made workimg with this poorly managed dealership worth it. Give Rod a call before you show up. There's a reason he is the number 1 salesman every month for the past few years; because he is the only person there that puts the customer first! read more

It's a nice place to buy a car I love darcars . I bought a beautiful car the staff were good until one of the staff asked me very uncomfortable question which was disrespectful. She asked me why African American people smell. This lady is Hispanic I reported her to her supervisor who is also Hispanic. He was laughing and did not take it seriously. All he said was she was not referring to you . I dont care who she was referring to she needs to know that human beings are human beings no matter what race . That was very disrespectful she did not even apologize. Darcars has so many beautiful African Americans I feel like there should be more training about diversity shame on her for saying what she said. I wish there was a no start rating for this company. All I can say is they are CRIMINALS!! 3 times they have tried to rip me off. Once for inflating my new tires on my Sienna. They insisted I buy new tires. I told them they are brand new and didn't new tires just need air. Took the half drunk chic 2 hrs to have that done. 2nd time I was going out of town when my son called me to tell my that the car wa stalling. How can I leave knowing he would hav car issues while I was gone. I called DAR Car because they are litterally 5 miles from my home. My normal dealer is 25miles away. They said to bring it in and they will look at it and if need be get me in a rental. 5hrs later we get a phone call telling us the repairs will be around 1200 and that rodents had chewed throough the wires. I was shocked called a few family members that knew about cars. They all said what I was thinking...I smell BS. But I couldn't rule it out. I asked how common is this and I was told very common. The car is never idle...so how can that be. I have 2 teenagers in the house...who are always out. I paid the $95 computer check and had my car towed back to the house. Since my extended warranty and warranty couldn't cover it according to them. My husband went to speak with the service advisor who showed him the chewed up wire. We asked if we could get it e-mailed to us. He said sure but we never got it. I then took it to Koon Tyson's Toyota once I returned and they had a different story. They checked the car out and explaind that there was nothing wrong. It was covered by the warranty and it was a knock sensor that needed to replaced. Toyota will cover it and plus my rental up to 5 days. As usual Koons Rocks and their service is topnotch!! They had me on my way and fixed the car in less than 5 days. Not a penny out of my pocket. (BTW we caled several times trying to speak with GM Asim and we never got a call back. After the 16th try I just gave up.) 3rd Time like an idoit I went to them because I had a nail in my tire and needed to drive to work the next day. Well I was told they don't patch and I needed to purcahse a new tire. For my 2016 camry that's not even a year old. I said ok...can you refer me to someone who can. One of the employee pulled me aside and told me to go to a gas station it will cost me 20 dollars. I did and it was reparied....for 20 bucks. I came back to DAR Cars and asked them as their customer to please put my tire back on as I can't drive on a donut for 30 miles one way to work. No one could help me...I explained to them I have warranty, extened warranty and Toyota care. Did that matter NOPE. I was told to come back...I told him I have to be at work at 6am. It's almost 7pm and no one is able to help. An old man approached me and told me to speak to the manager who was in the shop showing another customer tires. I did and he wasn't to happy that I wasn't purchasing a new tire. He said he will see what he can do. 45 minutes later he said the car is done and no fees. I was thankful and grateful. I left....a week later my car is making this crazy grinding sound. 2016 Brand New Camry.....I called Koons and towed my car there. I wasn't going to give DC another chance to ruin it. Koons could figure out how it happend. Left passanger side tire same tire I had issues with. The back plate was bent and was grinding against my wheels or the brakes. Can't remember...while correct it late. Koons being the classy company they are fixed it and apologized to me for the inconveince that they did not cause. DAR CARS is a SCAM and Toyota needs to cancel their license or whatever it is they do. I'm not the best writter but I hope this keeps people from getting scammed! read more

The salesperson who picked up my call immediately said they have one in stock, then asked me again, if I only want to test drive it. I was put on hold for a couple minute, and find out that he couldn't give me a test drive unless I'm willing to drive it home the same night... FALSE ADVERTISEMENT, PRICE GOUGING, DISHONESTY, UNETHICAL AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. The sales person, Erica was very nice and she did a wonderful job helping me find a car. We found the right car to meet my urgent need for a vehicle. I decided to purchase the car outright, for the advertised price, without financing. That would have allowed me to utilize financing on a second, later-model car in the near future. When I called Erika an hour after our discussion to tell her how I planned to pay, she informed me that her product manager decided to raise the price an additional $3000. The remained advertised online at the lower price, until I complained, which leads me to believe they were trying to get over on me. It was a pleasure working with Erica. However, I am very disappointed with the product manager's practices/DARCARS (false advertising, price gouging, dishonesty and poor customer service). No one from DARCARS has contacted me to rectify the matter. SHAME on you DARCARS! I will take my business elsewhere. read more

We are in the market for 2014 RAV 4. Took my 2005 Highlander (AWD, Limited, Leather, Sunroof, fully loaded), good condition, no accident, no damage, one owner with only 80K miles. KBB trade in value for good condition: 13,500. Carmax offered @10K. Darcars offered $6,000. And started negotiation by deducting trade in value from RAV 4 LE AWD MSRP ($26000 - $6000) = $19,000. The Internet prize for 2014 RAV 4 AWD LE is around 22K on MOST dealership. DARCAR manager wanted to sell this car at $19K +My Highlander +Tax + Tag + Processing. There was no point wasting any time with this dealership, I left immediately. I bought 8 cars (new and old) in last 24 years. The Highlander was from this dealership in 2005. I trade in my Avalon 2005 to get a used car. Sales person did find me a 2014 Carmey and its runs great. I was going to NTB, to get my repairs onm y Avalon. So I decide it was time to trade in Avalon and manager at NTB said Darcars. So I listen to him, so My husband and I went on to them in August. Then I was notice on the warrant. So I call the Darcars, I had some answers. When I call, I ask for Edward Dwimon and I had questions on my used car. He was very rude. I ask him to call me back, when he was finish a customers. He NEVER call me back. Went to get my tags, the salesperson was also rude. He was taking on his cell phone, while he was putting my tags. I will never never use the Darcars. Before I get a another car, I will go to never go to DARCARS Toyota Silver Spring again. I will go back to FITZGERALD TOYOTA in Gaithersburg MD. Wish I could rate this place even lower. We researched several used Prius options on the internet and set out for the dealer to test drive. We were greeted in the lot by a salesperson who told us that they only carried 2009 and 2010 (new) Prius models. (note, he did not say, in my department, but rather tried to make us believe they did not carry used cars). When we asked which location carried their used cars, he indicated we had to go inside the building. (which is where we were headed before he waylaid us with false information). Upon entering the building yet another salesperson stopped us and asked us how he could help. When gave him the specifics we were looking for, he badgered us about buying a new Prius instead. It took us about 5 minutes for us to get him to leave us alone and let us look for someone to help with a used car, while he cut us off, stood in front of us blocking our path and generally harassed us. We finally found someone who was willing to help us with a used car, but he said they only had two pre-owned Prius models in stock (their website indicated they had a half dozen with vin numbers, etc). Both of these models were priced well above kelley blue book "retail" value prices and were in the 20K range and not in the year we were looking for. We had just about had enough of the weird lies and went to walk out and of course, the salesperson said "let me see if I can find any other Prius models for you." So without consulting any material or computer, he magically walks us right to another Prius, but this one is still out of our range and the wrong year. So he said, let's just get in this one and drive to where the others are located. (Suddenly all these Prius in stock?). We get to another two Prius, which are closer to our range, but we really wanted to see one specific car which they said they had on their website. I am 9 months pregnant and this guy left us sit out in the hot sun, now about a half a mile from our car, for 25 minutes while he supposedly checked for that vehicle. He then said he thought he knew what we were talking about and drove us to yet another car that was not right. He told us to wait for him to see if he had that car in stock (inside this time) and was gone for about another 20 minutes. We walked out, and won't be back. I know that this kind of thing is to be expected from a car dealership, but I've bought 3 cars in my life and my husband has bought 1, and neither of us were ever treated to such ridiculous lies and underhanded behavior in our lives. I complained and received a free service and car wash.. Yay.. Another time, when my car was under warranty, my radio broke and they replaced it. Well.. First of all I give it 1 star because there's not -0 star to give. The first thing or person we meet at a company is their receptionist and who wants to meet one that's smelling alcohol or some one that smart talks the client. I don't know who hire that person but maybe they were drunk to, because there is no way that woman could work anywhere in society. Her name is Rogline or something, lucky I couldn't remember it well. The sales people are aggressive. (Which is fine), but to the point where they get mad when you don't buy right now & then with them. Also very little time is use to explain the financial details , mostly they will tell you in your face you've wasted their time after trying out the cars & you didn't buy it. I mean there are better places to buy a Toyota, no one needs to be rude to a client that's spending their money. It's not free. From the drinking, lousy receptionist to the crappy sales people, was very unhappy with the over all experience, c'mon even if it's just a Toyota, it's still buying a car & everyone deserves a great customer service. read more

Scheduled an oil change on my 4Runner with an estimated time of 1 to 1.5 hrs. It took 3 hours and several visits to the rep to get it done. Rep's response to my questioning as to why it took so long was that several workers had come in late to work and, "we are all human". A month earlier, again with a scheduled 3 hr quoted time for recall work on the passenger air bag, it took 6 hours! They were going to keep it overnight, and only completed the work when I told them that there was no public transportation in my area and I had to be at work at 6 a.m. the next morning. Be careful if you contact them, they will hound you and hound you with follow up home calls. Even after I told them that I had purchased another vehicle they insisted on knowing what type of car and where I purchased it. When I declined to answers and asked to be removed from their follow up calls, they assured me that I would, but yet they keep calling. Next time I am interested in buying another car, I will be sure they are scratched off the list, who wants to be hounded this much. Really nice dealership. Our salesman was phenominal (Charles Cain). A few minor "bumps in the road" when purchasing my new car were as follows: 1. When I went to test drive the car (I drove from out of town), I was told the vehicle was in the detail shop and would be back the next day (inconvenient). 2. When I returned the next day, I drove the car and the brakes were not up to standard (brake pedal was shaking- I knew the rotors needed attention). I told Charles that I would not purchase the car unless this was fixed. The car's rotors were turned the following day and I returned on day 3 to perform a second test drive. Viola! All better. (Happy customer!) 3. Once I signed the purchase documents for the car I was told "Congrautlations" and handed ONE key to my new car. I asked where the second key is and was told that the previous owner only turned in a single key. This was something that I felt I should have been told prior to making the vehicle purchase. The problem is that the key is not really a "key" per se...it's a Smart Key which is basically just the power door lock/lifegate/alarm fob. The ignition is keyless, so if I were to lose my one and only key, I'd be super screwed. Charles told me that I could order my very own second key for "around $500" but that just wasn't happening. My husband very politely requested to speak to the Manager and before we even got to, Charles came back and said that the Manager would order us a new key for no charge (Thanks, Mr. Manager). 4. The final "meh" thing regarding the purchase involved the vehicle being advertised both online and on the window sticker as having a backup camera. During the test drive, we noticed this and afterwards we confirmed that the vehicle did not have a camera at all. Not wanting to pay for options on the car that were non-existant, we asked if the dealer would budge with the price. The reply given was that the dealership uses a VIN number tracking program in which they punch in the VIN number and all of the options that are registered with the VIN spew out onto paper. I would think that you would personally check to confirm these options prior to advertising them, but whatever...I didn't really need a backup camera anyway. In the end, my husband was feeling a little but upset about the numerous visits and "surprises" with the car. For me, I was just glad I found a car I loved and that my salesman was a straightforward, cool guy. Thanks Charles for all of your help. NOTE** I have had my car for 8 days now and have received no word from the dealership regarding the status of my key. Car shoppers, BEWARE! Please read this review before buying your car at DARCARS Toyota of Silver Spring, MD. Horrendous customer service is giving them credit. I purchased my new Toyota Highlander from Darcars of Silver Spring in August of 2019 and as of today, February 24, 2020 I still have temporary tags. A mistake was made by the finance department when the tags were originally applied for and the finance department has refused to take ownership and correct their mistake. I have spent countless hours trying to resolve their mistake by personally visiting the dealership, making numerous phone calls to the title department, finance department and general manager. Their solution has just been to renew the temporary tags, hoping the problem will resolve itself. Not once have I received a return phone call or any other response with a status update or, better yet, a resolution. On Wednesday 2/19/20, I visited the dealership and waited over 1 hour 30 minutes for the Director of Finance, Barry Landa, to speak with me in hopes he would give me the status of what he has done to rectify the situation but instead I met with a man that tried to intimidate me, raise his voice at me and tell me it was not his fault that the mistake was made and he regrets that he ever offered to assist me in the past and told me to get out of his office. So while DARCARS Toyota of Silver Spring, MD is happy to sell you a vehicle, they are less than amicable in resolving any issues that may raise. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere! read more

I came in the other week and was greeted by Daniel A. he was able to help me with everything I was concerned about when coming to buy a new car and helped me with the whole process. Having Daniel A. helping was very reassuring unlike other salesman that have helped me in the past and made the whole process feel like a breeze to me. Darcars also did a great job training and hiring the staff everyone there made me feel like I'm at home and they gave me the best deal they could and it was very warming to know that I was treated like one. The Cherry Hill location is also very clean with a great selection of cars I was able to look at a variety of used cars that I was interested in and also new cars. This review is for their service department. They seem do to fine work with the car, but their customer service is among the worst I've ever dealt with. All you do is wait. Wait in line. Wait on the phone. Wait for someone to call you back. I spent over an hour on the phone across 4 calls yesterday just to find out if my car was ready. Most of that time was spent just listing to the Darcars commercial over and over and over again. The fourth call was made with a second phone while I was on hold on the first phone. Eventually I got through to a human being in their service department who told me my car was ready. I asked to speak with their General Manager but only ended up (after another lengthy wait) with the Service manager Juan, who, while nice enough, really couldn't do anything but apologize and say they would try to do better. This morning when I picked up my car I had to wait in another long line, and they even took a guy behind me in line first so he could make their shuttle bus. They also tack on about $10 in fees that were not quoted to me on the repair. The last time I was there, the repair was $1500, so I didn't notice, but on a $120 repair it was noticeable. All I wanted to do was get my car and never return, so I told them just to forget it and take my money, but they took the $10 off anyway. I doubt I will ever return to Darcars Silver Spring again unless I'm towed there. read more

What a disaster this place is! They made sure the purchase of our vehicle went smoothly. Then we NEVER heard from them. Four months later, we've still received no title and no tags, and I can never get anybody on the phone. Last week, I found a $100 ticket on my windshield for possessing expired temporary tags, and DARCARS is saying they won't cover it, like it's somehow my fault. They also said they'd email me and overnight new temporary tags. That was five days ago. It's worth going further away if you're looking for a Toyota dealership. There are others in the DMV area; use them instead. read more

My wife spent hours in a MVA office yesterday trying to get my permanent registration, but she was told that she should contact this dealer. This was my first time going to this location to get service done for my car. I will say that once I got there there was a bit of wait but not too bad. All staff were super friendly to me and tried to get my car started for service as soon as possible. I asked for the courtesy service and was taken home, the driver friendly and was a little speedy but got me home safe and sound. I didn't get any call for updates but my car did get done a bit quicker than they had told me. The only reason I'm giving a 3 star review is because I was never really told what was going on with me car. Granted I did only have to go in for a airbag recall but I did ask to see why my car was shaking. Before staff called me to let me know that my car was done I got a text with a report but no one explained to me in depth what was going on with my car so I'm still wondering what is really causing the shaking in my car. Staff was super friendly but they should take a little more time to ensure we understand what's going on with our car and keep us updated. read more
