Such a unique spot! My husband and i stopped in here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. They have a plethora of options on the menu, we split wings as an appetizer. He had nachos for his meal and i got the pepper jack chicken and pasta. Everything was good, other than my husband saying the nachos were a little too dry for his liking. Portions are large! And service is quick. Our waitress also didn't charge us for the drink my husband didn't end up liking, which was very nice. We fully expected having to pay for it and would've! But that was nice of her to do that. We'd definitely stop back in here again, if we are ever back in the area. read more

I'm only giving a 3-star because of a few reasons. Waitress forgot requested items, only checked back once, upgraded to fries for $2 and only got 11 fries, an average of 20cents per fry...ridiculously pricey. On a good note, the Reuben was excellent and it was nice & cool in building. read more

Just finished having dinner at Darb's and it was the worst restaurant experience that we've had in a very long time. We ordered the chill to start, very little taste to it and we could only stomach a few spoonfuls. For our entrees we ordered one of their salads and the Mac and cheese with brisket. When our entrees arrived the Mac and cheese was about the size of a kids meal, and the brisket looked like it came out of a box from Meijer. we asked if this was the usual serving size and our server's short reply was that everything was weighted then she walked away. The dressing for the salad didn't taste home made and had a unique flavor to it.. and not unique in a good way. Both the food and customer experience leave a lot to be desired. Do yourself a favor and take a hard pass on this restaurant. read more

Food was fine, normal Americana food. But it took quite a while to get seated. We tried to order for about 30 minuets and almost left before the staff noticed us again, they were much more attentive to the people near the bar. They do fun trivia once a week. I have been here multiple times with my family and come back from time to time. Food has always been great, my favorites being their burgers or wraps! Good location for a drink and to play pool as well. Staff has always been kind, but they seem to either be understaffed constantly or not fully properly trained due to how long it can take to get their attention at times and wait time. So we have had Darbs before, about 3 years ago, though we live in Eaton rapids, and yesterday were reminded why. There were several things that were not okay: 1. Spinach dip tasted "scorched". It definitely was burnt, and really bad. 2. The boneless wings - were okay, some had bits of gristle, and we ordered the sauce on the side but it wasn't. 3. Pretzel bites - not at all pretzel bites. I used to like this place a lot more than I do now. The food is delicious, and the portions are generous for the price that you pay. I would have rated this place a little higher, but the last two times that I was here, the waitress was incredibly rude. She had gotten numerous complaints on a daily basis, yet still, management seemingly would not do anything about it. I ordered a Buffalo chicken Wrap from the salads and wraps section of my the menu, and it was pretty good and satisfied my appetite. It wasn't astonishing, but it's not like I could make a wrap like that at home, it just satisfied my craving for a wrap. The fish was accompanied with a side of chips, which seemed to be hand cut and fried in house. The chips were exceptional, and the waitress was friendly. Very disappointed with our meals. Lasagna was okay at best, served lukewarm, tiny side salad & 2 tiny, burned garlic bread pieces. Nachos plate large but chips were burned tasting, awful. This is a lazy restaurant, waited over 45 minutes for our food, our children received a lackluster meal that was stale. Waitress was too worried about everything else, except her tables and paying customers. We stopped here on a Sunday afternoon because it was right next to an ice cream place. Turned out to be a really good decision! I had the French dip, and I thought it was really good! The bread wasn't soggy like it can get sometimes with a French dip, the meat had good flavor and the exact right amount of salt, cheese, and onions (though I like onions light-if you like onions you might want to ask for extra onions) My family is quite picky, and we all asked for like specialties (no onion, light sauce, dressing on the side, fries instead of chips, etc) and all our orders came out perfect. Our waitress was fun and joked with us, and she was the perfect amount of attentive and watching from a distance to just let us eat our food. I come in to play trivia every now and again and I'm still not sure why I keep ordering food there. The burgers and sandwiches are decent but everything else is mediocre at best - especially when your trying not to eat junky pub grub. The last two times I've been in, I ordered the grilled chicken dinner - I have never seen such a tiny piece of chicken served at a restaurant in my life! We were in eaton Rapids Friday evening looking for a dinner spot not McDonald's type. The waiter was at the table before I could help my wife and young daughter get seated, took our drink order, visited our table frequently, we ordered the meat lovers pizza, took awhile, but it was Friday night they were busy, we didn't care, the pizza was worth the wait. Heard good things about this place, but was really disappointed. To start off, the booth we were in had most of the upholstery ripped and nearly torn off. Looking around the place there were cobwebs all over the wall. It looks like it has not been cleaned in years. It looks like The Munsters' house. I ordered the fish and chips. It was about $11.00 and little more than frozen fish fillets that were deep fried. Not only was the food really bad, it took forever to get it. I really like Darb's atmosphere and the open feel of the place. Don't be nervous about bringing in the kids. They do serve beer, but during the day it is a family place. The food is a notch above "ok". The philly steak sandwich was served like two halves of a sub. The meat was very good, but there was barely enough to fill just one half of the sandwich.
