I filled out my paperwork and told the Receptionist that I was refused to see Dr. Jain in her other Practice in Sparta, NJ because I'd seen her associate, Dr. Kloupar (another bad one, which I don't recommend as she's also unprofessional and rude.) BUT the Receptionist at Dr. Jain's Office in Hackettstown specifically told me that the 2 offices weren't in ANY way associated and that these were completely different practices. Then the Receptionist slipped away to where the Doctor was and Dr. Jain came in and told me that she does NOT prescribe Benzos (medications like Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Valium) and that I'm in the wrong place and should go. I could see she was really upset. I then told her that I'm willing to try a different route and want to get off the Xanax I'm currently taking. She then got very irate and said NO! That I should've told the Receptionist I took this medication before making an appointment (like that's MY JOB and like I knew she didn't prescribe these meds.) She then told me to leave in a VERY rude, extremely unprofessional and downright mean way. I was so shocked I just said ok and left. I'm so angry and upset! This is WRONG! All this has done is made my already EXTREME Anxiety problems escalate and again shaken my faith in the Psychiatric Profession (at least here in NJ.) How cruel! And I promise I'm NOT exaggerating! I think she was angry that she wasn't going to get my $225 since her Private Practice DOES NOT take ANY insurance. Anyway I DO NOT AT ALL recommend anyone seeing this highly unprofessional and uncaring person. Unbelievable! And so sad... Also I want to add that the Receptionists in the Sparta Office (Highland Psychiatric Associates) are also rude and unfriendly. The only reason I went to see Dr. Jain in her Private Practice is because I saw Dr. Kloupar in Sparta, NJ (this location) and got nowhere because she was SO closed-minded to SO MANY medications and side effects. She didn't believe me when I said something made my anxiety worse because it wasn't supposed to. She treated me with disrespect and was very rude and cold. So I decided maybe I could see Dr. Jain there. So I called Highland Psychiatric and was curtly told that once you see one Doctor there you can under no circumstance see another. Also I should mention I DO have insurance! I'm just so desperate for help and tired of waiting 6 weeks for appointments that I was willing to pay even though I can't afford it. And for this I get kicked out of an office by an unfeeling, cruel Doctor. This is absolutely uncalled for! I hope someone out there believes me because I have no reason to lie or embellish. I'm not out to hurt anyone and that's precisely why I'm writing this. So no one else gets hurt like I did.

Of all the reviews I have written over the last few years, this is probably the most important to…read moreme. Elaine hardy, MS, RN, APN, C; is not just an amazing medical professional, she is one of those caring and intuitive physicians from a bygone era. It used to be when you walked into a doctor's office, they had more than HMO training, more than just the ability to follow HMO rules and regulations, there used to be doctors who actually had knowledge and were intuitive about your body and condition. You will find this once again Elaine. Over eight years ago, after having gone to a myriad of doctors and specialist, all of which were baffled by my condition, it was Elaine who was finally able to pin-point my issues and begin to help me work through them. By the time I had reached her, I was in fairly bad shape, unable to walk on my own and had a lump in my breast, most doctors were penciling in the death certificate but Elaine took a far more positive approach. She worked with my family to help us develop a treatment protocol which centered around my desire to stay as holistic as possible. She was sensitive to my desire to treat the cancer holistically and supported my decision, even though at times, I knew she was concerned. Elaine did not lecture me or try to force me into anything I was not comfortable in doing. Instead, she would lay out the options to my family and allowed us to make the decision that best suited my body. Elaine then supported us throughout our chosen treatment protocol. I still have clean cancer numbers 4 1/2 years after having a 3 1/2 pound, triple-negative tumor removed in a mastectomy. When most doctors didn't think I'd make it off the surgery table, Elaine stayed supportive of our family. In the end, I survived the cancer. I am still dealing with the severe neurological disease that put me in a wheelchair as a paraplegic but even in what seems like a dead-end condition, we are seeing small steps forward. Elaine worked with all my illnesses from the beginning, helping me to find ways to deal with the pain, looking for new treatment methods when the old ones weren't working and giving me hope for the future. She never gives up on you, she just keeps on working to find the answers. Her knowledge is amazing and she is willing to think 'outside the box' in trying to find the root cause of your issues instead of treating symptoms, something that is difficult to find in the medial field these days. She looks for the layers that so often are involved in illness instead of a short-cut version that usually keeps one feeling...just good enough, instead of great! After seeing literally dozens of specialist, I have never met another medical professional that I hold in as high of esteem as I do Elaine. No matter where we are in the country, we find our way back to Elaine. It is because of her knowledge and support in helping us deal and work through both the cancer and the neurological issues that I am here to write this recommendation right now. If you are seeking a qualified and caring Holistic Professional, look no further. You will not be disappointed in Elaine Hardy.

This practice is extremely overwhelmed and can be very unprofessional. I will admit I had one…read moredecent visit there the first time I went, but even then I was kind of questioning my decision because the staff did seem pretty stressed. Almost every time I've called with a question or concern I am told that I will get a call back and I never do. I recently went there about a month ago and was sitting in the waiting room talking to a friend on the phone because I knew it was going to be a little while. At one point, the doctor comes up and says to me...Are you just going to sit there and chat on the phone all day or what? I found that extremely rude, I was there for a yearly pap smear - it was uncomfortable enough to have to go in and do that procedure after the doctor acted that way. Nearly a month later my results were not made available to me on the patient portal, there was some other result for an HPV test. After three phone calls about this to find out what my results were, and none of them returned (and on my third call the receptionist just interrupts me and says...Yeah, I know what you're calling about in an unkind voice and puts me on hold) I was told - that my pap smear was not even done!! That they have been having some issue with the lab for months about this. For months?? And you don't rectify it and have patients keep continue to come in to do this test and not get any results? I'm sorry but that is just not right. Also about 9 months ago I had a yearly check up there with some abnormal urine results - the doctor pretty much said it was fine and not a problem (blood in the urine that there was no reason for it to be there for me at my age as a woman). I started having some other urinary symptoms 6 months later and saw a urologist and had the same result of blood in the urine and they wanted to do a complete work up. Maybe two different opinions, I don't know, but to have an abnormal result on a test and just act like....oh, it's nothing....probably not a good approach as a doctor I would think. So my opinion, look for another doctor in the area. I went here because they were supposed to me a more holistic, alternative practice combined with conventional medicine and they even took insurance. There aren't many doctors like that around. A holistic doctor to me is kind and caring and looks at you as a whole person. So needless to say I was very disappointed. The nurse I spoke with today even told me that they are too overwhelmed and are working on it. I haven't seen any changes in the last 9 months I've had experiences with their office. Hopefully they fix that problem for themselves and for their patients. I wish it could've worked out and I didn't have to search for another doctor now.
