After that, I went to another broker and got pre-approved almost immediately. I qualified for the home without any problems. All I can say is that they were not very professional. In my opinion, Simon seemed focused only on money. I felt that he was trying to earn commissions from both sides. When I decided not to use his broker, my offer was not accepted, and I was told that another offer had been accepted instead. That was my experience, and it left me feeling that my interests were not the priority.

He is professional; providing me all relevant information without coloring it. He is responsive; never going more than 12 hours without responding to me even while on vacation. As he is an attorney as well, he is a one stop shop. Which means if you have issues with tenants, he knows the legalities and the options we have. He utilizes a maintenance team as needed and when selling a house he has a team that can stage your home. He works well independently and makes intelligent decisions, which was really, really important to me as I really wanted someone that I could depend on that wouldn't have to check in with me for every detail. Within a month after I moved to Virginia, he found me wonderful renters (at a great rental rate) that took care of my home and stayed the entire time I was renting. I did nothing, while every month the rent was regularly direct deposited into my account. Upon the decision to sell, again, he took care of all details so that I didn't have to spend a lot of time in the process. However, one area I think Ziprent could improve on is accommodating owners with keyless entry doors. Since my front door uses a code instead of a physical key, I had to be present for every showing, walkthrough, and related appointment. As a property owner paying for professional management, this isn't an ideal experience. I would have appreciated a solution or recommendation from Ziprent to address this issue so I didn't have to manage it myself. With three kids, two rentals, and a recent move into a new home, it would have been a huge relief to have a more hands-off experience. While this was an inconvenience, I'm still very happy with Ziprent's service overall and hope that by the time my tenants' lease is up, they'll have a better process in place for handling keyless entry doors.
