When we weren't able to make that happen we set up an appointment for 8am the following day. He texted the next day to say an emergency came up and we would have to reschedule. He then texted the morning of the cancelled appointment day to say he could come that afternoon. When that was not convenient for us he said it didn't seem like we were going to "gel" on this project and he would pass on it. Not sure why it was so difficult for him to schedule a firm time for our project. We were pretty flexible for weekdays and very flexible on time, just needed more than a few hours heads up.

No other equipment such as a shop vac or a safe way to handle the sewage water. No tarps to protect the rug, curtains, or furniture. In an effort to find the pipe opening, they removed 10 buckets of sewage water, carrying the sloshing filth through the room and hallway and dumped the stuff in the street. Someone called the police after stepping in feces. Sing never found the opening to the pipe. He charged $400 and departed. Later he came back to clean up the sewage he had thrown in the street. The next day a different plumber used a crowbar to find the opening to the pipe and inserted the snake. Once the clog was cleared, all the sewage water went down the pipe. He then used his shop vac to thoroughly clean the area.

My wife and I moved into a new home this past year and quickly noticed that the kitchen sink would…read moredrain slower than it probably should. In addition, whenever we ran a load of wash, the sink would fill up and again take its time going down. Within the past week the problem had exacerbated itself with water backing up in the sink and refusing to drain. I knew this day was coming and was dreading it, but I was forced to call a plumber. I did some googling and found Apex. The reviews seemed decent, they were nearby, and they were open on Weekends, which is helpful because my issue was on a Saturday. They had a ton of calls on the day I contacted them but they were still able to come by even at 7:30 at night. Got a call from Richard with a good 45 minute notice. He arrived promptly on time and was extremely courteous. I explained the issue I'd been having and he pulled out the heavy duty snake and started feeding it into the drain line. Within 15 minutes he was able to pull back the line and free an extraordinary amount of black goopy buildup in addition to a cloth that must have been there from the previous owners. Needless to say, that did the trick. We ran some hot water to flush the drain and got that sweet looking whirlpool as the water went down swiftly and cleanly. I even ran the washing machine to see if I'd get backup from that and got nothing. I'm over the moon. Richard was terrific and the price was very reasonable. I'd definitely call these guys again.

NIGHTMARY EXPERIENCE:…read more Last Thursday I hired Apex Plumbing to remove a small plastic bottle that had accidentally been flushed down my toilet. They were unable to come that evening, so they sent a technician the following day while I was working out of town. A friend let Jared into my home. When I returned home four hours later, I discovered that my bathroom had flooded. Dirty water had spread into my hallway, down the stairs, and into the kitchen ceiling below. The toilet had been scratched, the handle was broken, the bathtub caulk had been damaged, my shower curtain and bathroom contents had been soaked, and the toilet still would not flush properly without manually operating the tank. When I turned on the kitchen ceiling light, water came out of the light fixture, so I immediately shut off the breaker. I contacted Apex that evening and again Saturday and spoke with the owners, Jim + Holly. They sent another technician to clean up what he could, but the damage clearly required professional water mitigation, not just surface cleaning. After he left, my licensed plumber nephew inspected the toilet and found it was leaking and he repaired it. By Monday, my carpet was still wet and I still had no clear plan from Apex. To prevent further damage, I hired an independent restoration company. Their inspection found active moisture in my kitchen ceiling, and they immediately began mitigation with industrial dehumidifiers. The damaged carpet was removed, the area was sanitized, and part of my kitchen ceiling had to be opened because it remained wet. When I informed Apex and requested their liability insurance information, I was told they had planned to "get a guy over there tomorrow or something" for restoration and carpet cleaning. By that point, several days had already passed, my carpet remained soaked, and I had already taken steps to prevent further damage because I had not received a timely plan or follow-up or insurance info. What disappoints me most is not that a mistake happened--mistakes can happen in any business and we are human. It's the lack of communication, urgency, accountability, and follow-through afterward. As a fellow small business owner, I believe how you respond when something goes wrong says everything. I simply cannot imagine going into someone's home, destroying it, and not saying a word. This situation has delayed preparing my home for sale and has required countless hours coordinating insurance, restoration, and repairs for damage that occurred during what should have been a routine plumbing visit. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Apex Plumbing. I hope no one else ever has to deal with this.

They assured me they would "let her know I was waiting" but were never able to offer an idea of when the quote would come. It has now been almost a month. They have sent me so many spam e-mails asking me to leave a review that I've decided to oblige them. They might have great plumbers who do excellent work. I don't know.
