Pete brings lots of experience to the table. If you are looking for a plumber that has seen it all this is your guy. When I called I left a message and he responded very quickly. He called me in the morning on the day of our appointment to verify the time and location. Pete diagnosed my issue but asked lots of questions and was very thorough before making a decision about how to fix the issue. I saw a review with someone complaining about his prices. Guess what folks? A knowledgeable plumber is worth their weight in gold. They deserve what they are paid as they are experts in a critical field. Most importantly, Pete is an incredible human being. Talk to him and you will feel the same way I did. Skip the big business plumbers and go with a local option. Pete gets my recommendation without hesitation. read more

After having two other plumbers stop by and give up I searched next door for the highest rated plumber and Pete was at the top by a huge margin. I called him on a Saturday and left a voicemail not expecting a call back until Monday, but I was pleasantly surprised that he called me back just a few hours later and apologized that he didn't call back sooner. We were able to schedule an appointment for the next day, we texted some photos and the clear description of what the issue was, and he came with all the parts to fix the issue in a single visit. While he was not cheap, it would have saved money if we called him first instead of calling and paying the two other plumbers for their attempts. He's our first call going forward for any plumbing issues read more

Thanks Pete! We had a severely clogged drain and a cracked pipe that was leaking in our basement. Pete came the same day we called, assessed the problem and did what he could that evening. He was back first thing in the morning and completed the job in record time. He's quick, efficient, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Pete the Plumber to anyone in need of his services. He is one in a million, honest, kind and doesn't rip you off like others do. read more

I had a leak under my kitchen sink. I called another plumber and when they left, I ended up with three leaks. I didn't call them back because I didn't trust them at all. I noticed that Pete the Plumber had a lot of good reviews so I took a chance on him. After explaining my problem to him, he ended up coming within 15 or 20 minutes. He was very thorough and fixed the leaks plus also I had him install a new kitchen faucet because that had started leaking also. There was one leak that was persistent for a while under the sink. But he refused to leave until that was resolved. He would not leave until I was happy. Needless to say, everything is fine with my kitchen sink right now. I would highly recommend him. read more

Pete the Plumber checked my tub and said the stopper was up and that's why it wasn't draining, at that moment I embarrassingly realized that I'm the plumbing equivalent of the dummy who calls tech support only to have them ask if the computer is plugged in or not? And I work in tech support for a living!?! LMAO! I told him that I don't think that was it, but he said, either way you don't want to put the plumbing snake in the drain unless you absolutely have to. So he left and didn't charge me anything. I tried to offer him some money for showing up, but he refused. Super nice guy and I highly recommend him for his professionalism and honesty alone. I'll definitely be giving him a call in the future for any other plumbing "issues" I may or may not have. read more

Pete the Plumber - Plumbing Near Me - Schenectady, New York

Pete is a perfectionist, he does an excellent job, and the only one I trusted for plumbing work inside my home!

Pete the plumber is a first rate plumber and a very honest one. He will not charge you for services you don't need. I had what I thought was a broken garbage disposal and a clogged drain. Pete came by very promptly and removed the clogs and this enabled the disposal to work and the drain to run smoothly. Another plumbing company had come by earlier and proceeded to tell me that I would need new pipes installed in my basement as well as a new garbage disposal. They wanted to charge me more than $4000 for services and pipe replacement that I didn't need. If you need a plumber check with Pete the Plumber first. He doesn't rip people off because he has integrity! read more

To my surprise, Pete arrived at our house in response to a voice message and without a confirmed appointment. I answered the door with a mask on and kindly requested that he wear a mask since my husband is immunocompromised and has cancer. I offered him a fresh mask in the case he did not have one. Pete was adamant that he did not wear a mask and he was NOT going to wear one. When I again explained that my husband is immunocompromised and has cancer, he said "If you feel so strongly about me wearing a mask, I'm NOT the guy for your job". He turned and left. Needless to say, I am mortified at his response. I typically make the request for any visitor or service provider to wear a mask in our home prior to making arrangements. Since I did not have the opportunity to use him for my plumbing issue, I cannot comment on his plumbing skills. His "customer service" and lack of consideration for his customers, on the other hand are less than acceptable for any business. read more

After a long day of calling, multiple plumber around the area I was able to get a hold of Pete. He was able to see me and did the did job within an a few hour of calling him. He was professional, reliable and left the place extremely clean. Highly recommended read more

Called on Black Friday for a small leak under the kitchen sink. He picked right up! Came the next day and fixed the issue in less than 5 minutes. This is why supporting locally owned small businesses matters. Will be calling Pete for any future plumbing needs for sure! read more

Quick and flexible. Solved the issue and gave additional options for fixing the sump pump set up in the future. Great person!!

I unfortunately got my hose stuck to my outdoor water spigot. Pete came and got it unstuck for me. He didn't even charge me for it either. Other places wanted to charge me 100 dollars to even come out and just look at it. I will be using him in the future! read more

Pete fixed a clogged drain in our bathtub even though the pipes were over 100 years old and we have a drum trap that I thought needed to be replaced before the problem could be resolved. Pete recommended we allow him to try and clear the drain before doing a far larger, more expensive project. He was at the house a few hours after I called him (who is that responsive anymore?) and had the drain cleared in a few hours time. read more

Had a burst pipe in the wall and needed a new hose spighot and fawcet on my sink. Pete was very responsive and showed up, when promised, even a bit early, but called first to make sure it was ok. Can't ask for more than that nowadays. His price was fair and he's a nice guy. If I evern need a plumber again, Pete's my guy. read more

Had first time flooding in my basement. Two other companies wanted to charge me $3-4k to put in a sump pump. Pete assessed the situation, saw that my existing floor drain (it's a 1905 build) was blocked, snaked it and showed me how beautifully it drained water. Also fixed a leaky valve and charged an extremely fair price. Intelligent and kind. Will never use another plumber. read more

Pete was very flexible and punctual. Was honest and fair in his pricing. Each time I called, I spoke to him directly and we got right to business. Our job was small, but he seemed capable for larger jobs too. Give him a call. read more

Had an issue with slow draining sink and washer run off. Family/friends had no recommendations so we did a random search. We read some positive but older reviews for Pete the Plumber. We were skeptical but due to the positive comments we were willing to give him a try. Pete was prompt, courteous and a friendly professional. He addressed our initial concerns. In doing so he said there may be complications due to the unorthodox set up of the drain. We thought all was good but later discovered, unfortunately, there was now a more serious issue. We again contacted Pete and he arranged to come back the next day. Some work was needed on our part before the final repair could be made by Pete. Upon his arrival he maintained the above qualities and proceeded to address and fix the problem. If we have any plumbing needs in the future we will surely call on Pete. Without a doubt we will recommend him to others! Thank you Pete, for your honesty and being a trustworthy professional. You have earned our trust & loyalty! read more

CHARGES $500 and hour! Called to have our sink snaked. The water wasn't going down very quickly and other remedies didn't seem to work. Called Pete, he was supposed to come between 12 and 1. at 1:15 he called and said he couldn't make it. He came the next day and fixed the issue, he snaked the drain and cleared the clog. $274 he charged!!! for 15 minutes of work he charged $274!!!! Don't call Pete if you have a real issue, imagine what he would charge for a full hour!!! read more

You don't find many people like this anymore. What a great guy. Came to my house twice now. They were both super easy fixes. He was in and out in 10 minutes or less. And the price could not be beat. Highly recommend. read more

Found Pete highly recommended on Yelp. Contacted him and was at my home in 2 hours. Had a seriously clogged kitchen drain. He was professional, prompt and honest. Cleared the drain perfectly and the prices was very reasonable. Great to have a local resource you can count on, will always recommend him to others and neighbors. read more

Called Pete due to water dripping from our upstairs bathroom. He immediately picked up, walked me through the issue and guided me on how I can simply fix it myself. I loved how honest he was and while he offered to still make the trip, he assured me it probably is just our overflow drain and nothing to be alarmed about. We will certainly be calling him again in the event we have any further issues. read more

Called Pete on a Sunday after trying to find out what was wrong with water that was backing up into my washer. He called me back and we had some back and forth via text to help me understand the problem and the schedules some time. He was able to come the next day. He then contacted me telling me he could come a bit earlier. He fixed the problem! read more

Great service and very responsive. Was able to fit me in very quickly and worked with my schedule. Highly recommended.

Excellent find. Taking care of a sick relatives house whose drains and toilets were severely clogged and had overflowed. Bathrooms were a disaster, nothing was working . Not being from the area ,I took a blind chance on Pete and very glad that I did. He came on time , unclogged the system and got two toilets and a tub working properly. The price was more than fair . Pete worked quickly and explained everything clearly to me. I highly recommend this man.I would definitely use him again. read more

Very prompt and does very good work. Be sure to ask for a quote, though, which I did not do. Installation of a garbage disposal was quite expensive. read more
