Absolutely recommend this stop if you are in the Danville area. In addition to having great ice cream, they also offer a small sandwich luch menu. The ice cream spoons change colors which made my kiddos' day! They have plenty of seating and space to move around. We will be back and I may even consider coordinating a friends gathering here this summer.

What a cool little place!! If we lived closer, we'd definitely be here more. They have a huge menu, including ice cream and healthy shakes!! I almost got a healthy shake, but im a sucker for pistachio ice cream, so had to get that instead. My fiance got a banana split and it was massive. Check it out!! And please open a location in Plainfield, we need you :)

Cute and bright shop with a variety of frozen treats! Stopping for ice cream in the summer feels like a Danville tradition (it probably is everywhere it gets hot, but no matter), and now there is a new spot to patronize. I have just been once so far, but I've heard quite a lot of positive reviews from others and look forward to visiting again. They have Hershey's ice cream in a variety of flavors as well as soft serve with Flavor Burst. Being local, I have passed the Flavor Burst building many times, but have never had the opportunity to try it, so am very excited for that! I tried the Cookie Overload Dipster (think blizzard, glacier, concrete, etc.) made with soft-serve, and picked up a turtle sundae made with regular ice cream for a friend. Both were very good. They feature Arcane coffee (also local), ice cream cakes, pre-packaged frozen treats, and smoothies and juices. Their website is very thorough, and it appears you can vote for upcoming flavors on their Facebook page.

Cute place right on the square in Danville. Plenty of 2hr parking around the square. Prices are good. Plenty of seating for any sized group! Staff was friendly and quick even with a larger crowd that walked in.

Today, I spent some time clearing out my father's home and helping my nephew, who'd been staying with him prior to his death, settled in a new residential situation. As I was driving through Danville on the way home, I stopped at the town square and decided to have a late lunch in the area. To be honest, I headed first to Square Burger. However, as a wheelchair user I was dismayed to see a step into their establishment. No go. I wasn't in the mood for Mayberry Cafe despite my love for the place. I looked over and realized this was a great chance to check out The Beehive. The Beehive is just off the square and shares a building with Two Guys Pies. The US 36 entrance is not wheelchair friendly, however, the back entrance has a nice concrete ramp (I did find the sidewalk a bit narrow - I noticed as I entered here that had I desired to visit Two Guys Pies there was a bicycle on the sidewalk that would have easily blocked my access). This is an attractive building. The Beehive has been here a little over 10 years. I'm not sure I'll describe The Beehive accurately - it's sort of a coffeehouse meets breakfast/lunch joint where you can also get fresh, local honey and other frozen goods to take out. They do catering and offer deli sandwiches, beer/wine carryout, a build your own salad menu, local meat and produce, and the aforementioned frozen goods. They also have a small retail area where you can buy honey, t-shirts, and other items. A good amount of their sweets utilize honey instead of sugar. I parked on the square in one of their accessible spots (parking is free, up to 5 hours for accessible parking but only two hours for others). I wheeled around the building - someone was planting plants/flowers and was super friendly and stopped his work to make sure I could get through). They close at 4pm on Saturdays - I arrived about 3ish. I ordered one of their combos that included a 1/2 sandwich, chips, and a drink. They do have unsweetened iced tea, fountain drinks, and a variety of canned/bottled drinks (including Choc-ola!). They also have a ton of coffee/latte type options. I found the prices to be reasonable. This is especially true given these are healthier options (though certainly not everything here qualifies as "healthy."). The employees were friendly. They were quiet, however, service was quite good. I loved the atmosphere. I had zero issues finding a wheelchair friendly table. I could independently reach everything I needed, though I'm sure they'd have assisted if needed. This wasn't a mind-blowing experience. It was simply a really good lunch in a pleasing atmosphere at a fair price. After an emotional experience like clearing out my family home (which isn't yet done), this was a great way to relax and calm the emotions. I enjoyed the sandwich, which is toasted, and they had Miss Vickie's potato chips. I'm not sure why it took me so long to stop here, however, I'd easily return for the simple yet wonderful menu, great drinks, warm atmosphere, and friendly employees.

The food, service and atmosphere are all incredible. Our fave dishes are the cinnamon roll French toast and smoked salmon omelette. We get them and split them so we both get sweet and savory breakfasts! The CRFT is always cooked perfectly, never soggy and doesn't need any syrup. The smoked salmon omelette over flows with smoked salmon and creamy dill sauce, it's to die for. Stop in for breakfast or lunch, you won't be disappointed!

We split a bowl of soup and they kindly served it in separate bowls for us, which I appreciated. The soup of the day was corn chowder and wow, I was surprised how good it was, I do love soups. I'd never tried corn chowder before, but it was creamy, flavorful, and comforting. I ordered the half salad/half sandwich combo. The smoked salmon niçoise salad had a blend of interesting flavors and the dressing paired perfectly with it. For the sandwich, I chose the BLTEA, and unfortunately this was the disappointing part of the meal. The avocado on it was clearly overripe/bad, so dark, mushy, and it gave the sandwich an unpleasant taste. I removed as much as I could, but it still affected the flavor. It was a bummer because this spot usually tastes very fresh. I've had it before and the avocado was fresh, along with the orchard salad which I loved. I would say the orchard salad is my fave. They make their dressings homemade and the dressing for the orchard salad was delicious. The service was still very friendly, and since they were slammed busy, I didn't feel like making a fuss about it. Everything else we had was enjoyable. The inside is small and quaint since it's a house turned restaurant, so it has a cozy but lively ambiance when crowded. One of the best perks here is definitely the made from scratch desserts. I love checking out the dessert case because the staff will happily explain each option and answer questions. There's something oddly satisfying about watching them slice the desserts too. I took a lemon cheesecake to go and absolutely loved it. I've also tried the blackberry wine cake which is a staple and delicious. A seasonal dessert that was really good was the pumpkin pie. You really can't go wrong with home made desserts here.

I'm amazed how many people don't seem to realize that Culver's is here, though it's a bit hidden off to the side of the Wal-Mart on US 36. While I've always been a fan of Culver's, during my cancer journey in 2023 it became common knowledge that for whatever reason Butterburgers would sit well on my stomach. I became a diehard regular and continue to this day (though closer to my Lawrence home). As I've been spending more time in this area, I've patronized both this location and the Avon location. This location has an appealing spot and seems well situated. It's a wee bite tight at the drive-thru for those having to wait for orders, however, it works. The food I've had here has been good, including my beloved double butterburger, and my orders have always been accurate. The employees are friendly and helpful. I did notice the price is just a little bit higher than at my usual Culver's for the exact same order, however, it's only by about $.33. The parking lot is nicely sized and accessibility is solid here including parking, curb cuts, and the interior decor. Culver's has really become a major player in the Indiana market and it's nice to see it growing in the suburbs and more rural areas. This is actually a pretty cool little corner with Wal-Mart, Tractor Supply, Goodwill, and Culver's. A welcome addition to Danville, Culver's offers me what I want from the Wisconsin-based chain - a quality burger, friendly service, and a pleasing atmosphere. I'll be back.
