Local local place. Cash only. Street parking, everyone knows each other. Family operated, good coffee, tasty generous portions. Basically right up my alley. Had the beat the house with hash brown (big enough for two or a typical Albanian, IMHO) and sausage platter. Cool place. Good foods, will be back when in area. Real food for real people.

If you are looking for hot delicious food and a friendly atmosphere with that old time mom and pop diner feel look no further. In business for 47 years, great customer service is a priority. They make a point to get to know their customers, so be prepared to feel right at home. Come on in pull up a chair or have a seat at the counter you will be telling your friends about this awesome place.

The food was AMAZING! The service was equally as amazing and I loved the ambiance. Perfect spot for true diner food. Just note it's cash only!

My son and I came here early on 01.18.25 as we were attending a Robotics competition nearby.. Diner looks like an old train car...not very big...perfect size for a nice breakfast. I had corned beef hash and eggs with home fries and toast. Huge portion of hash with 3 eggs. My son had double stack pancakes and a side of fries. Everything tasted great and coffee was fresh. I lived in Bru hall down the block about 30 years and never knew this place was here. Glad I came. Felt welcome. If you are looking for a good breakfast place, come here. Forgot to add...friendly and attentive staff.

Cash only. Delicious food, nice people and an old school diner. Highly recommend if you ever come to Albany.

I've been coming to 76 Diner for years, going back to my college days, and while I don't get over to that part of Latham as often anymore, I still make it a point to stop in a few times each year. I will say a while ago they changed their menus. I used to enjoy the older version with some information about the presidents of the United States. Probably silly of me but I enjoyed reading that and it went along with the '76 name. I'd like to see something similar to that come back on future menus. It's a large place, so there's rarely much of a wait, if any, and the parking lot is big enough that finding a spot is never an issue. On this visit, we were seated quickly, greeted promptly, and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Any time I've been here it's always nice and clean. This time was no exception. Any time I've been in the restroom, it has always been clean as well. The service stood out, our waitress checked in several times to make sure everything was good and see if we needed anything else without being overbearing. Everything we ordered tasted great, and the desserts were just as good. This has been a reliable spot for me for a long time, and this visit was no different. 5 stars

Inside is actually larger than expected, with a certain mid-century charm. Service was quick and unobtrusive. I had never actually eaten here until a recent weekend when I met a friend for breakfast. The menu is positively huge, and it was hard to narrow down my choice, but I went with the western omelette, which comes with potatoes and toast. I wish I could've switched the toast to an English muffin, and the potatoes were really not that flavorful and kind of dry. I would have preferred hashbrowns. I only ate half the omelette. It was kind of dry; no cheese, just ham, peppers, and onions. Am I glad I ate here? I guess so. But will I eat here again? Probably not.

As I waited for the hostess she was clearly overwhelmed and couldn't eek out a smile to any of the people she greeted. In the lively restaurant, a few tables of girls-night out, birthday dinners, couples both young & old, bar seating with the World Cup on TV. Our server was very pleasant. The food was good, by Albany standards, heavy on the butter, salt and cream. It wasn't bad but for me they could pull back on the richness and let the herbs/mushrooms/fish/etc shine through. 2 out of the 3 us intentionally only ate half our portions, planning to eat the rest "tomorrow" and told the server we wanted to box them togo. She offered to do that for us, while we were happily chatting, sipping the rest of our wine. When the boxes didn't reappear, the server apologized that someone threw the boxes away. It was disappointing, especially when we paid $25-28 dollars for our plates of pasta. Based on the overworked hostess and server, management needs to adjust their staffing to insure a better customer experience. When they toss out leftovers, not just a single bite, but huge plate of food, it would seem appropriate to provide a "peace offering" perhaps put a small dessert togo or certificate for a free appetizer on a future visit. If I was local I'd probably return.

Working man's Watervliet gem! The kind of place, like Ralph's in Colonie, where the locals eat but don't tell you about because they want to keep it to themselves. Stuck in a Time Warp in the nicest way possible. Red glitter Formica and retro photos of Watervliet history abound. A simple unassuming 24-hour diner on the railroad tracks where everything could go right. And does. For starters, there really is a "Bob" and family waitstaff, warmly welcoming you to their humble establishment. Want your bacon crispy? I always describe mine as "if you dropped it it would shatter". The owner assured me she has a "burn it" button for customers of my ilk. My experience is breakfast for lunch, twice. But, like your typical diner, they have just about everything, anytime. Did she say pierogies? Be still my Polish/Ukrainian heart! But I digress, as I am wont to do. Go ahead. Park your car in the adjacent parking lot and tell me you can't envision Guy Fieri pulling up in his Camaro convertible doing the same.
