On the road to LIT this is the perfect send off to the airport for a full belly. Dan's I-30 Diner is conveniently off Interstate 30 in Benton, AR. This diner definitely feels like someone's grandmas house. The staff is welcoming and you sit wherever you want. The coffee is hot and the food comes out fast. I got the Eighteen Wheeler, the pancakes were fluffy, airy texture and larger than life! Bacon thick and delicious, with cute circle hash browns from heaven all golden brown and crispy. Stopped in here after passing it a number of times. First, the server was pleasant and she had her hands full. The food?, my wife had scrambled eggs and hash browns, she said they were hot. I had eggs, home fries and pancakes. Eggs were cooked to my liking but the potato's looked like they were from the grease pit and cold. The pancakes were ok and again not hot. The prices are low compared to other places. Now, if I owned this place I would be absolutely embarrassed at the run down dirty condition. It appears that it hasn't been cleaned in years. They have enough junk sitting around that it has a layer of dust. The popcorn ceiling is flaking and some lights are not working. The carpet is gross. IF YOU TRAVELING ON I30 DO NOT STOP AT THIS PLACE. I can overlook many things but the laziness of the owner/manager is something that is disgusting. Nope, I will not be returning. read more

This is so much better than Cracker Barrel. It only took us 15 years to stop in. They never seemed to be open when we were heading home. Glad we stopped by this morning. Great spinach and bacon omelet and sausage benedict. Very friendly staff. read more

When we came, we thought the service would be faster... sitting down for an hour... almost two, got told a ticket was ahead of us after being here for an hour or so, and got our food at least 10 minutes later. The food was good, the waitress not so much... she came to our table and asked for our food and drinks, then disappeared until we were told about an update on our food. To say the least, if you're in a hurry, don't stop here on a Saturday morning to get breakfast... we got here at about 9:50 ish and left at 11:25. We order to go a couple of times a month and it's always hot, fresh & tasty. We use the Salem location and they do a great job serving you.

The food was not great, service was poor and atmosphere made me feel like they didn't want me there.

Super fast service and the waittresses are friendly. Kitchen is average speed, not bad for this busy crowd - but seriously good wait-staff! We tried Dan's for the first time recently and found the food to be very good! It seemed to us that Dan is running the place quite lean, putting more effort into the food quality than the overall facilities. Some awnings outside are tattered/falling down. Coffee mugs are a hodgepodge collection from local businesses. Wait staff of 3 were extremely busy and most of the tables were occupied, which attests to the food quality. They're doing something right! To his credit, Dan himself was making the rounds while we were there, checking in with customers as to how they liked their food. Good on ya, Dan! We moved to Benton about a year ago- I just CAN NOT believe that we weren't told to go here FIRST! We absolutely love going to fancy brunch spots- but good food comes first. And this diner is not even in the same league as other breakfast places in Central Arkansas! The staff is phenomenal. You are treated like you belong! So I am first customer today and others are soon arrived. Have asked for a Sweet Cream Pancake, 2 eggs over medium, burned hash browns with lots fresh jalapeños, and bacon. Orange juice to drink. All is nice here for setting and seating choices. I chose a table near the kitchen area, as it seemed warmer. Nice ladies attending. Everything was real good except forgot to burn hard my potato n pepper mix. But got 2 pancakes which were nice sized so offered one to another customer sitting near and he accepted. I have been craving chocolate gravy for months and I did not want to make that nor my cat head biscuits; found a place that had some awesome, homemade chocolate gravy and biscuits. The gravy was smooth, silky and not too sweet like some places. it went excellent with the fluffy and buttery homemade biscuit. The breakfast burrito was huge; they added hash browns to it per my request. My husband loved his chicken fried steak and biscuit with gravy. We will try their lunch menu soon. We already asked, they make their ranch dressing. I am a huge ranch dressing snob. This will definitely be our go to breakfast place especially since it's about a mile and a half down the road from our neighborhood. The staff was super nice, to include Dan, the chef/cook; he made a round through the dining area checking on everyone. The only reason for the 4-stars and not 5 is that the facility is quite old and needs some updating and some deep cleaning. It was still a clean eating place. Also, we had a few ants on the table. I do understand that sugar ants are everywhere this time of year, i just prefer not to see them. read more

My friend and I came to this nice little place one morning before we left for our trip back into Kansas City, MO. Their food was really good, they don't offer iced coffee as an option but are more than willing to provide cream and ice so that you can ice it yourself (I'm bit of an iced coffee snob). I ordered the french toast and it was absolutely delicious. You can never go wrong with french toast. My friend ordered a large plate of food, I guess they call it the 18-wheeler, although I can't recall off the top of my head what all that entails. She ate it all though! Except for the sausage, it was rubbery and didn't taste very good, almost like it was cooked hours before we showed up and held in a warmer, or it was microwaved for too long. For that reason, I gave it 3/5 stars. I'll most likely revisit this location when I make a future trip to Arkansas since it's only a few minutes from my cousins house. I can update the rating when I visit again, which I very much intend to do! I highly recommend the french toast, as they use a secret recipe for their batter which is definitely worth exploring. read more

The food is pretty good, a basic breakfast diner type menu, but the place is pretty run down and just kind of trashy. You'd think they'd put something back into the business to keep up some appearances. The outside of the place makes it look like a dive bar and the parking lot is full of holes as well. Came in after church on Sunday with the hopes of having a nice breakfast only to find that breakfast is not served after 10:30 on Sundays. Stayed anyways and was not disappointed. The grilled chicken was great and the kids meals were good sized and the kids were happy. The chicken fried steak was really good and my wife said the tilapia was really good too. The service was fast and attentive and the restaurant was clean. It did look like it could use a bit of an update on decor inside. If you are going westbound on I-30 when you get off, you need to get over quickly or you will miss this place. In my opinion, this is one of Benton's best kept secrets. We came here for Sunday lunch and were very pleased. My wife ordered the chicken strips and fried okra. The plate came out with 5 huge chicken strips. She took 3 of them home. The okra was fried perfectly. I had the pot roast which was delicious. I love fried squash and was not disappointed. Both meals were very good values for $10.95. The cornbread that came with my meal was homemade and delicious. Our server was excellent and very attentive. Great Breakfast I discovered this place on Yelp and stopped in this morning on my way to Little Rock. Glad I did!! I had the 18 Wheeler breakfast that was excellent. Bacon was really good and thick versus the folks that try to serve the cheapest and thinnest bacon thinking they are saving money. All they do is lose me as a customer. Pancakes were more than I could eat. Before I ordered, I asked if they had sugar free syrup. They did and even served it hot! Servers were great and made sure I had all the coffee I could stand.
