To die for brisket! The best coleslaw I've had in years. Nice place and great people

Let's get to it - the BBQ was decent with large portions, tender ribs that fell off the bone and a nice mound of pulled pork. Prices were extremely reasonable given portions. The letdown were the sides and the sauce - sides were a bit bland (Mac and cheese and beans and potato salad. The BQ itself also had less spice or flavor - it's missing a good rub. The sauce was just ok and only one flavor. I had to add cholula to the very bland but hearty beans. I'm super tempted to rate at 4 stars overall for value but Yelp is about the food. Still a decent choice in the area.

Good Texas Style BBQ. I ordered the Brisket meal. Most of my brisket was a little tough for my taste but the star of the show was the grilled vegetables. I would go back just for the grilled vegetables. The smoked mac and cheese was good but not very smokey for Texas BBQ and the Texas toast, average but the brisket sandwich with the potato salad was good. The next time I'm in the area, I'm definitely stopping for the grilled vegetables ant to try thei brisket burrito. Overall, it was a good experience and I'll be back again to try some more. The staff was friendly and I like the way they have their seating set up both inside and out on the covered porch. If you need ADA access, it's at the end of the sidewalk on the right side of the restaurant and easy to miss if someone is parked between the handicap parking and the ADA cut in the sidewalk. I was impressed when the nice lady taking orders at the front counter walj over and helped a customer with a walker by holding the door. That's some great customer service.

I remember when Danny's was based on Bainbridge Island so many years ago, and my first venture in was really great. They moved to Silverdale and leveled up. Danny told me that his brisket would come close to being as good as my mom's, who was from Texas and had recently passed away. I took him on in the challenge and, while not quite as delicious as my mom's, Danny did alright. They always have good customer service and quick ordering and preparing the food. They boast a unique and extensive enough menu. The prices are decent. The potato salad is usually good. This time good but way too salty. The portions are great. This time and the last time my ribs were slightly overcooked and dry. I straight-up don't like the Mac and cheese. Not cheesy, the meat in it is unnecessary, and the amount of pepper they use to season it is all I taste. I do recommend that you try the food here. My only reason for giving it a 3 stars is because of the issues with the food I mentioned above.

Pulled Pork Meal (Texas Toast and Two Sides: Mac n Cheese and Baked Beans)

We were in the area running some errands and shopping, working up an appetite so we decided to look for a local restaurant to try rather than wait until we got back home. I came across Danny's BBQ on Yelp and after reading the good reviews, decided to stop by and try. When we walked in the employee greeted us and informed us that they were out of chicken for the day, which was fine because we already knew what we wanted. We placed our order, decided to dine in so we sat down at a table and waited for our food to be brought out (which took maybe 10 minutes)! I ordered the pulled pork meal - comes with Texas toast and two sides... I opted for the Mac and cheese and baked beans. My husband ordered the ribs meal with the same two sides, I tried to get a picture of his food - but he was already digging in. The pulled pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The texture was spot on as well, with some softer pieces and some harder pieces. The Mac and cheese was so flavorful, the texture was spot on (not mushy whatsoever or dry). The beans... were phenomenal. You know how some BBQ place have your typical "canned beans" baked beans taste, not these! They almost tasted like chili beans but had pulled pork pieces throughout. The plate as a whole was great and did not disappoint! It is a smaller restaurant with only a handful of tables inside and a few picnic benches outside (for nicer weather days) but luckily alot of customers were ordering to go, so it was just us dining in. Overall, from the food to the service - we'll definitely be back to Danny's BBQ and recommend to anyone looking for good BBQ.

We were passing through Silverdale and was recommended to try this by a friend. There was no disappointment here. I haven't actually had a good BBQ yet since moving to WA, and this was AMAZING. Upon walking in we were greeted by this really friendly lady, and it was very quick and easy. The baby back rib meal was pretty good, I loved that you could pick two sides. The Mac and cheese was to die for, I love the pepper in it, and perfect seasoning. The ribs were really meaty and kind of juicy, amazing bbq sauce. The brisket was to DIE for! Juicy, bomb flavor, and so soft. The pulled pork sandwhich was great, it had an egg and some smoky sausage which was pretty good. Service was a 10/10, food was a 10/10! Easy parking and not too busy. I loved that I was able to bring my dog there as well.

First, this place is small inside, so be prepared to take it to-go (order via phone would be best) or sit outside. Their smokers are outside so you can see that they are legit. They claim they are Texas BBQ, so I put them to the test by bringing my kids for my eldest's birthday (the two oldest spend most of their year in Texas). We got the pulled pork quesadilla, The Brick sandwich, and 2 orders of the smoked chicken with mac and cheese, grilled veggies, and coleslaw as sides. The Brick lives up to its name, it was enormous. I could barely get my mouth around it for a bite. All the meats and the sauce were so delicious! The smoked chicken was my favorite, and I enjoy that there are different sauces to use on the meats. I lean toward vinegar-based myself, but my kids like the smokier sauce. The pulled pork quesadilla was a hit also, as my pickiest eater ate two portions. My older kids said that it was Texas BBQ, so Danny's lived up to their claim. The mac and cheese was rich and the coleslaw refreshing. We will be back!

I don't eat a lot of BBQ; other than my own. Much of what I have tried is just meat smothered in sickly sweet saucers. If that's BBQ, then I don't get it. My wife and I were in the car and getting hangry, it's about 2pm and we should have eaten long ago. I remembered that we had heard good things about Danny's and it was in the way home. So, we stop and give it a try and Oh my! These people know BBQ. My wife had a brisket sandwich and I had the pulled pork sandwich. We ordered Cole slaw and beans as sides to split. About 7 minutes later we have our food and the sandwiches are huge. We could have split one. They go really light with the sauces, but before you help yourself to a the sauce condiments take a bite and savor the goodness of smoked meats done by someone who knows what they're doing. It's amazing and you don't have to smother it in sauce to make it BBQ. Our sandwiches were wonderfully moist no dried out crusty stuff here! Another thing you won't get here is a giant bun to fill you up. No, their buns were light fresh and just sufficient for hold what seems like a 1/2 lbs of meat. Neither of us could finish and so we took a go box and picked lunch for tomorrow. Service is excellent! Ambiance is pleasant and the place is busy, but they keep up and if you wait a little it is so worth it

We have eaten here a few times now. The barbecue is pretty good. I have enjoyed the brisket and ribs quite a bit. The flavors are good and the meat falls off the bone on the ribs. The tnt burrito is such a decadent and delicious concoction. The sides vary, but I really like the mac and cheese and potato salad. It's a little pricey but not bad. We have only had takeout so far so no opinion on the dining experience. Very happy they are an available option in out town. read more

Danny's is among the best barbecue joints on the Peninsula. And, certainly the best priced. I stop by as often as I can for lunch. His sandwiches are great and good values. I especially like his slaw which is served alongside his sandwiches over pickles and topped with ribbons of sweet onions. While some may dress their sandwiches with it, I treat it as a salad. They do frequently run out of product. So, it's important to show up on the early side of lunch time. read more

I really wanted to like this place! I'm from Midwest and also Texas and I know my bbq and this ain't it. My. Brisket was good but it didn't melt in my mouth still a little chewy, the sauce was basic. The coleslaw was not it, there was no taste to it, very bland. I got the beans and it literally taste like pinto beans in broth and also bland, I couldn't finish my sides. I'm used to very flavorful bbq, the reviews were so great! Maybe because this is what people are used to here. Two stars because the customer service was good! read more

Usually try to go to a bbq place whenever we travel. Looked this up and Yelp and it was close so we checked it out. Highly would recommend to anyone! Me, my girlfriend, and niece ordered separate meat plates. The beef brisket, baby back ribs, & pulled pork. All three fell apart or melted in your mouth and had an amazing flavor! The cornbread is usually dry in most bbq places but this one was moist and delicious! Only thing that could've been better to me were the bbq beans. More of a soup; I prefer thick. Still tasted good though. Would definitely come back again and would put this in my top 3 bbq restaurants for sure! read more

We happened by this place on an errand and the smell drew us in. So glad that it did! We ordered three meals, chicken, pork and brisket to go and headed home with the delicious smells tantalizing us in the way home. I had the brisket with two side, mac & cheese and zucchini and peppers. Everything was awesome! The zucchini and peppers had a grilled taste and were tangy, salty and just perfect. The mac & cheese? I would go back just for that bowl of goodness. And the brisket, tender, smoky flavor and moist - like you would expect, but better. I was unsure how to rate this...the brisket and ribs are a 5 the coleslaw and beans were a 1.... recommendation to buy nest by the pound and take it home and add your own sides...The coleslaw was so vinegary/sour I could not eat it...the beans are definitely not your normal baked beans but more of pinto beans with pork added and super spicy (think mexican) The brisket was delicious as is the bbq sauce, the ribs were also great...no potato choices for sides... read more

I drive by this place all the time and decided to stop in for some dinner. I went at 5 pm and they "were out" of more than half of the items on their menu and what I did order was mediocre at best. The brisket was tough and over seasoned and the sides were bland. I wished RNJ was still open. read more

found by accident, ordered to go , took about 15min premises were clean and seemed like a popular spot for locals and Navy. ribs were good but I was expecting saucy drip all over the place ribs, I received a small container with extra sauce and a little on the ribs. the price was average. will go again I always try to give a place 2nd try to confirm with my taste buds. read more

Well, it embarrassing to say that I have lived less than a mile from Danny's for seven years. Every time I drove past I thought, 'One of these days I am gonna stop and try Danny's out. Today I finally did and I am now kicking myself in the butt for missing,for seven years of : * The absolutely best ribs to be had in Kitsap County. Moist, fall-off-the bone tender with a bbq sauce that is tasty but not overpowering. * Great Cole slaw. Good flavor, not drowned in sauce. * Had no idea what 'peppers and zucchini ' was, I do now! Get 'em!! You won't be disappointed.! * Corn bread, hmmm. Well, not my favorite, but the thing about corn bread is everyone has their own idea of what they like. Me, I like it very moist and sweet. Danny's isn't, or at least mine wasn't. In their defense, I was very late just before closing and it was probably in the warmer all night. Given the quality of everything else I will try it again. Next up (very soon'). Brisket, hot links and some of the other sides. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but Danny's is definitely worth your time and money (forgot to mention, very reasonably priced). Forgot to mention, I tried to go on Saturday for lunch but the line was out the door into the parking lot. I didn't wait, but a line like that tells you that you are on to something good. read more

I have been coming here since you opened because the food is beyond delicious. Tonight I came and the 4 younger employees were so rude I was taken back. I called in my order and was told 15mins, 30 mins later and I inquired "about how much longer" the two girls yelled like 5 mins. I miss the employees that started this business and cared about customer service. When I got my order it was wrong. So when I asked about it- yovey yelled fine I will remake it. As if I had done something wrong by asking for my correct order. read more

Excellent meal for price -- that said, it was a bit more than I would expect to pay, but there are very little options on this side of Washington, but gosh darnit! It was really good! I ordered the brisket plate, which is $14 for 1/2 lb of meat [so tender and amazing] with BBQ sauce [good and tangy!], cole slaw [not so good and tangy], and two sides. I chose the smoked mac and cheese [amazing and great portion] and cornbread [costs extra, too crumbly]. It's a tiny location, and although there are picnic table outdoors, it's Washington--rain occurs 75% of the year. My son and I sat outside as we waited not because the weather was pleasant, but because I'd rather not worry about feeding my messy one-year old and have space to do so than be cramped up inside. We showed up around 11:30am, there's a steady lunch crowd, hence choosing to wait outside. As another Yelper indicated, the storefront is labelled "Danny's Cafe" and there's a sign that says "Texas BBQ" before you enter the parking area, however on Yelp, it's listed as "Danny's Texas BBQ." Hmmm... The interior is odd, too. There's a large painting of NYC, and you can even get an assortment of coffee brewed! Based on the website, Chef Daniel's a well-trained New Yorker culinary pro, which 'splains the painting, and we're in WA, so why not have coffee... But it's Texas BBQ, right? I didn't need boots or cowboy hats or longhorns hanging everywhere, or blasting of country music, but there's something not quite Texan about the place. You know what would be great? Sweet tea. All in all, it's a great spot, worth the cost. That brisket was divine. read more

Visited twice during our work visit here in Washington and our group is planning a third visit to Danny's. The BBQ is amazing, I ordered the pulled pork with spicy mac and cheese that had jalapeño and chunks of pork or brisket, the pulled pork was moist, hot, and packed with flavor. Seems like it is super popular with the locals so come with extra time during the lunch rush or place your order early and pick it up. Limited seating inside , but worth the wait for sure. Would strongly recommend this hidden little gem. read more

I'm from the Southeastern part of the US. Lived in Texas for 9 years. I travel the country for work. It's almost impossible to find good brisket outside of Texas. Danny's brisket is excellent and affordable. $20 for brisket, zucchini peppers & onions, and potato salad. They smoke with maple instead of mesquite, but the brisket is still quite tasty. Definitely recommend the brisket. read more

If you love BBQ done right, you will love Danny's!!! I love the pulled pork... smoky, tangy, and slam-your-teeth-together tender. My husband loves the brisket meal. The macaroni and cheese is the best I've tried. It is cheesy and has the smoky flavor from the pork. They also have cornbread and cole slaw. The food is exceptional, the staff are friendly, and the price is right. For those days when only incredible BBQ will satisfy, a trip to Danny's will take care of those cravings!!! read more

How is the pulled pork sandwich?

The pulled pork was delicious as were the brisket & sides. I'm very particular about my BBQ and Danny's was excellent! Will definitely go back next time I'm up that way.

Being from BBQ country, Danny's is the only true BBQ in Kitsap County. Excellent quality of meats; exact preparation; very pleasant and helpful staff even writing reheating instructions if needed. The sauce is heavenly. I would buy a jar if available just to take a swig every once in a while. Sorry no pictures because I can't seem to not dig in before getting home!!! The aroma is so good I can just sit in the car and drift back to the days.....until I dig in because I can't wait any longer. This place was awesome, I went in at lunch time today and was extremely impressed. The pulled pork was cooked perfectly, all meat no bad stuff, had great flavor. I am a displaced redneck from Texas now for over 30 years. I lived in the Pan Handle on Texas, but remember visiting the Hill Country and do remember that BBQ. For all that are reading this review, this BBQ is the real deal. This is the stuff I remember. It is outstanding and a definite, must have. I was able to stop bye for a late lunch and had the pulled pork and coleslaw. I did not have the sandwich as I didn't want any bread but by the taste of the pork I would imagine it to be awesome. The pork was well smoked, nice color, juicy and tasted great. Will definitely be coming back to try everything else. read more

Danny's BBQ is fantastic! We had them cater an event for 350 construction workers with big appetites and everyone was very happy with the food. Juan is great to work with and the awesome BBQ made this event a success! We will definitely be using Danny's BBQ again. read more
