This hole-in-the-wall carinderia isn't anything fancy, but it has always been close to my heart (and thankfully, my house). Whenever I would bring their pork barbecues as my food-to-share in class potlucks, I almost never had to go home with leftovers. Yes, they're that good. It's been a neighborhood favorite for as long as I (and probably even my mom) could remember, serving up Filipino comfort food "turo-turo" style. No menus here - just point out what you want to eat from their daily display of pots and trays to whoever's behind the counter taking your orders. Speaking of, definitely get as many sticks of their house specialty as you can. Trust me, you're going to want more than one because THAT MARINADE PACKS A PUNCH. Round out your meal with rice (of course), a side (try the ginataang kalabasa't sitaw), and a bottle of Coke.
