After being seated we were greeted right away. Our server was great, I did not catch his name though! The restaurant was busy and we sat upstairs. Nice comfortable setting. They were out of a lot of dishes but we did get the trout. Short rib, calamari, hanger steak and some of their sides. Everything was very fresh and delicious. It was also my husbands birthday so we got a wonderful piece of their coconut cake. Overall a great meal and would come back

She even suggested her favorite menu items to us! Now the food... was... DELISH!!! I didn't take pictures of the appetizers but they served bread with olive oil and we ordered the smoked chicken wings for the table. The wings were amazing, as well as the ranch I was a little hesitant to order the pork loin with this peach and arugula salad thing on top but I went for it and MAN was it excellent! I didn't take pictures of the sides but we also ordered the Mac & cheese and Yukon gold purée and they were some of the best side dishes I've ever had. Especially the mashed potatoes and I am a bit of a mashed potato connoisseur Portion sizes were pretty big, we brought home leftovers. Definitely on the pricier side.

It did pick up more when we left . I got the beef wonton nachos with Korean beef bulgogi. Omg those were some of the best nachos I've ever had. The wontons were light and crispy. The bulgogi had the perfect flavor ! And they had sriracha and kewpie mayo on it I believe. I actually wished I had gotten more lol. I also got a brookie with ice cream for dessert and it was one of the best brownies I've ever had. It was warm, soft and just melted in your mouth. It was the best way the end my Sunday .

Service was friendly, although I would say our server didn't know anything about the beers but in her defense, they had a large variety of beers on tap. They are quick to mention that the food comes out when it's ready, so the food we got for the six people in my party came out over a period of about 15 minutes. Since that was disclosed up front, I didn't think it's an issue but if you're someone who wants to wait until everyone is served before digging in, you may have to eat cold food. I had mac and cheese and it was pretty good. Overall, this is an acceptable place to eat.

Kudos to the chef. Only negative is they offer a whipped spread instead of real butter. Delicious pancakes deserve good butter. I asked for real butter and all they had was honey butter. By the…read moretime we got settled in, dining options were pretty limited, so we searched online and this spot looked like the best choice -- and we're glad we found it. When we pulled up, there was a police outside, which didn't bother us. If anything, it made things feel more secure. They also use a metal detector when you walk in before being seated. Don't let that scare you off though -- this place is a well-oiled machine and everything felt organized and under control. Our server was fantastic: calm, attentive, and never pushy. I ordered the country fried steak with collards and mashed potatoes with gravy, and my husband got a burger. My meal was excellent, and it came with a perfectly flaky biscuit. The tea was Southern SWEET tea, too. My husband said his burger was good for a diner, fresh vegetables and the fries were seasoned well. The diner itself is adorable, full of character and charm. Overall, we had a great experience and would absolutely come back.

Big, open and airy. Lots of seating and a few party rooms too. Loved the outdoor seating too. If it had been a little cooler that would have been perfect. They have cornhole and ping pong and just a fun atmosphere out there. Our server was warm and attentive. We did not have to wait for refills and she was quick to answer any questions we had. We started with a few apps - the chips and onion dip and the pigs in a blanket. The chips were well salted and the onion dip was DELISH!!! The pigs were wrapped in homemade party dough and came with a honey mustard crème fraiche. They were so good!! For entrees we tried the fried chicken, prime rib dip, and the meatloaf. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The mashed potatoes were so good too. The only misstep on this dish was the biscuit. Way too dense and not very flavorful. The prime rib dip was tender and came on the most crispy bread. What a great combo! The only thing that wasn't great were the fries, just nothing too special. The meatloaf dish was flavorful and came with those yummy mashed potatoes so great pairing. We didn't have room for dresser on site but we did take the monkey bread to go and enjoyed it later. Good portion size and full of apple and caramel flavor. Did not regret taking that home!! Really looking forward to this spot opening closer to home. Highly recommended

There was lots of confusion at the hostess desk and I even had to ask if they needed our contact information. We checked our name on the list thirty minutes in and we were next in line. At forty minutes I checked again and the group that had been listed after us was now ahead of us and we were second in line. They needed a table for three and we were a table for two. I went and asked what was happening and the staff was dismissive and had no ability to discuss the situation. We saw multiple issues with food orders around us as well as incorrect billing which was concerning. This doesn't seem like an establishment ready to handle the volume of patrons it's built for. Some staff were great while others were far from professional or customer focused. Not a place I will return to.

The dinner reviews were all really great, so we were really excited to choose a lot of things on the menu and share our meals with each other. We were seated very close to the front entrance as opposed to the second level, which had a wedding reception going on by the time we arrived. We started off with the lamb meatballs, which were really delicious. One of our friends had never had lamb before and I felt like this dish would be a perfect starter kit to get her to appreciate the specific flavor of lamb. I also started with a wedge salad. A wet salad is one of my favorite salads ever and this one did not disappoint. I wish I would have asked for a little bit more of the pickled onions because they were so good. We also tried a lot of the cocktails on the menu, but I didn't get to take any pictures of those. After all, we were a footsteps away from the bar lol I had the salmon on top of the green beans. My salmon was cooked medium well and it was so good and perfectly seasoned. The green beans had a perfect crispy, not too soggy or limp. I would definitely order this again. Our server was amazing! He made sure that the three birthday girls had their own desserts, including cheesecake and fruit cobbler. Amazing! He even took pictures of our group for us before we left. Whenever I'm back in Charlotte again, I'll definitely try them for lunch this time!

While the menu has plenty of full plates, I love ordering their shareables so you can try a variety of things. To top it off, they have a unique custom cocktail menu where The Queen Bee and CLT Stinger really stand out. The staff stood out, both our waitress and the other waiters were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. We ordered a mix of food for the table: tacos, fried pickles, steak and fries, cauliflower, and a burger. The highlights for us were definitely the fried pickles and the cauliflower--both were good and something I'd come back for. Everything else was just alright, hence the reason I deducted a star. We also loved that there was a pool table it added a lot to the experience but I do wish it was free instead of $2 a game. Still, not a dealbreaker. Overall, it's a great spot with a fun atmosphere, good food, and attentive service. Definitely worth checking out, especially for trivia night.

Finding table space earlier in the evening has not been an issue yet for us. The staff is usually pretty welcoming and will immediately try and get some drinks in your hand. If you're interested in ordering food, they have a very solid menu that balances typical pub with a splash of elegance. The Chicken Sandwich is a perfect evening meal to pair with a night out. It has the typical sandwich ingredients but everything is of decent quality. It is not a heavy meal yet it delivers a perfect amount of satiation to begin a night out. The Fried Pickles prepared with a perfect ratio of pickle to batter and perfect for sharing amongst friends. Easily my favorite thing about the place is the pool tables. There is one inside and one outside on the patio. Shooting pool throughout the night and having the lively atmosphere makes for such a wonderful time. We have seemed to have good luck with getting a table but other times we have had to wait. There's a natural center of gravity which keeps myself and the group returning to the daily. Pool tables, never too crowded, solid outdoor areas, and quality food seldom found at bars. I will be coming back in the future and definitely recommend stopping by anybody looking for a calm luh night out.

So good, in fact, that one of my friends got them as the side with her meal because she couldn't get enough of them haha. The birthday girl and I did the Mimosa Bottle Service, which comes with the choice of 3 juice flavors. We picked passion fruit puree, house strawberry and house lavender. Lavender was hands down our favorite! We also decided to split the Chicken & Waffles and Maine-Style Lobster & Shrimp Roll with fries. Our waiter told us that he could tell the kitchen and they'd pre-split the dishes for us, so that was fantastic and made things simpler for us! There were two small cons for me; the first was that my silverware had a little dried food on it, so I asked for plasticware. And the second being, when we asked for straws, the waiter brought them to us loose in his bare hand. I've never had this happen anywhere else, usually loose straws are brought to you in a napkin. Would be great if Catalina made that the standard moving forward. I thought about taking off one star for these two things but everything else was so wonderful, it didn't feel fair to do that. Our waiter was super nice and informative, the food and drinks were incredible, AND they gave the birthday girl a gift certificate to use towards her next visit, plus a complimentary birthday sundae! You really can't beat that. We will absolutely be back!
