We ended up getting a lab-grown diamond wedding band that would be custom-made for my finger size. My husband wanted to get a wedding band, and honestly, just wanted the cheapest option. He asked Sue about options. Sue told us that a while ago, George Thompson had a promotion where if an engagement ring was bought, the man would receive a wedding band for FREE! She ended up sizing his finger and giving him a free wedding band that he loves. I would 100% come back here if I wanted a piece of jewelry! Great service and beautiful simple pieces.

I've had my diamonds switched before by a jeweler that was in Ventura years ago ANYWAYS. I'm trying to be cool and say do you have a diamond tester machine? It registered diamond but I noticed that the machine clearly says diamond/moissanite on the machine. I asked for another test and the diamond "pen" registered it as moissanite also. The jewelers that were working both said they think it's diamond that I shouldn't be worried about anything. My sales associate suggested I come back again and talk to Robert and he will help me look at my new earrings to make sure everything is ok. What about this is even normal? No human or technology could put me at ease that my earrings /diamonds were in fact mine??? Normally I would just refer to the laser engraving on the girdle of the stone but I chose a bezel setting and it covers it. This shouldn't happen, this is literally their job. Lastly I noticed that on my receipt it says I paid credit card and I paid cash.

To my surprise and disappointment, instead of showing concern, the staff implied that I must have hit the ring on something, causing the stone to loosen. They offered to reset it, and their jeweler claimed there was nothing wrong with the ring. They also mentioned it had been resized but never admitted to any issue with the setting. The ring was returned to me the next day. Because I was now worried, I chose not to wear it for weeks. When I finally decided to wear it again--three weeks later--the worst happened: the diamond fell out again. This time, I didn't notice until I got into my car. My husband searched around the parking lot and, thankfully, found the stone. When we contacted the store again, the manager once more blamed me, suggesting I wasn't used to wearing a ring of that size. This comment felt dismissive and presumptuous, especially since she had no idea whether I had owned similar rings before. The prongs were neither broken nor stretched, indicating poor craftsmanship in the setting itself. Unfortunately, rather than taking accountability, the store has repeatedly shifted blame to me. You can buy accessories for your watches, purchase older style clocks which are hard to find (selection is limited but good) and he also does jewelry repairs to even bronzing baby shoes. Yes, there are other locations in the mall that offer the same services but in comparison with this location, service is much faster and also lower in price without quality control issues. Dear Hubby and I were out at Ventura Harbor on a Sunday to beat the inland heat. It was an easy drive to swing by this location while heading in the general direction of home. I hadn't been to this location in a while. The visit proved to be a better experience than one of the previous time which I wrote about in another posting. The store was in good condition - stocked and clean. The yarn department is slightly larger than I remember. Since Joann's went out of business last year, it offered more opportunity for Michael's to step it up for the knitters and crocheters to have a bigger selection to choose from locally. I do try to support local businesses, versus ordering online. I was able to pick out several shades of my favorite yarn to purchase that day. Unfortunately, they weren't on sale. I had a coupon for one item at 30% off full price, so that helped. Also, apparently I look like a senior to anyone under 25 (well, I am, but still . . .), as the cashier applied a senior discount without being asked. All told, the price came out a little higher than I had hoped, but within an acceptable amount. Like many things that don't originate in the USA, tariff prices have affected yarn. What used to be $10 or $11 a skein is now $14. Ouch. This store, like many, have added self-checkout kiosks. I don't like them. I'd much rather interact with a human associate, and help save their jobs. Also, I had a couple of questions that a computer couldn't answer. As such, I had to wait in line longer to be able to speak with said associate. I'd say at a store that promotes creativity, forcing patrons to use the kiosks kills off some of the pleasure of thinking about creative endeavors. Speaking of creativity, I forgot to take any photos this time. They were starting to heavily feature Halloween and fall merchandise. Some of the 'ween decorations were interesting.
